  1. Most of what I was going to say was already said. But the thing that bothered me the most is the HORRIBLE tackling and HORRIBLE interior blocking. Newton exploited these Silsbee deficiencies all night long. These are the main things that need to be fixed ASAP if Silsbee are going to do what they are trying to do. There were some better playcalling that could've been done, but seems that it would've been an uphill battle anyway because Newton is just that good. And I can say it with my chest out. I was wrong. The loss of the 3 d-1 players appears to not have slowed this team down. Low on numbers (I counted 28 kids on the team), but they get after it, ESPECIALLY in defense. If they stay healthy, no doubt they make it back to the 'ship. Coach Smith and staff made a believer out of me since he's been in Silsbee and I won't doubt him and his staff now. Silsbee will get it together in these next couple of upcoming games. P.S. Silsbee quarterbacking was NOT the issue tonight, contrary to 'popular' belief...
  2. Great post!!
  3. THIIIIIIS!
  4. This is the most asinine post I've seen in the month of September. Smh
  5. This sums up the whole night. Very accurate. Thanks for posting this...
  6. Hes a different kind of QB, a pocket passer. Different from Elia last year, but seems to be producing the same results. And you know how I feel about results. 😎 He has this offense clicking, probably better at this point this year than last year. So I think they should keep those cinder blocks on his feet if he can continue to put up those great passing numbers...
  7. Furr - 7 L-Train - 48
  8. Mustangs - 14 Eagles - 28
  9. I really haven't seen PAM yet, but I believe the Deer Park/PAM game is online somewhere. I'll watch it and revisit this post...
  10. You made a comment last week about Yowman and him not being able to move well. Last night, this kid had a nice looks like 20 yard run and ran for a TD. Your thoughts on this, Sir? 😎
  11. This dude here.. lol
  12. Well, you are right. I saw something. They fought tough. Reminds me of the young Bulldog team yall has in the 2010 football season. They were young, but was scrappy and you seen then turning the corner soon and you know they were going to peak really soon. That group went on to win consecutive district titles dominating other teams. This 2019 team I see like that. They have some nice young talent. Theyll only get better. Watch.
  13. I saw last year's wave of talent Newton had almost 10 years prior in pee wee football. Everyone knew about it. I didnt know those 3 by name, but I'm sure they were little ones on those earlier teams....
  14. I'm very high on this kid!
  15. It's funny. They had NONE of those issues last week at all. I don't known what could've changed in less than a week.
  16. Lol. Ey, that's still my guy! And easy on the vertically challenged folk! Lol
  17. Ha ha.. good one. But those two things are truths. Lol. There was a spring game and apparently, physical speed is a real thing...
  18. Great day to be a Timberwolf! First of all, from the opening kickoff, there was no mistake who the better team was. United just seemed faster and more physical than Nederland, however, Many penalties held us back from what we were truly capable of. I hope they correct that for next week. Nederland did have some good spots though. The big interior lineman for Nederland clogged that middle up and stopped any and every running play up the middle. I hear that kid was a sophmore, don't know if thats true or not. Nederland also has the good looking RB which started gashing United at one point. I have NO earthly idea why they went away from that. Finally, the Nederland kicker has a foot of a mile. Kicked that long FG with distance to spare. I was thoroughly impressed. Also, Nederland will need to learn how to tackle in open space. Almost seem like they were scared when United RB's came rumbling downhill and wanted to arm tackle... Besides the penalties, I loved the play selection and seen some wrinkles they've been working out on offense. But I have no idea why we started huddling up and not going to the hurry up offense. That was strange. I also have no idea when we went to the 5 we set and ran it half a possession and went away from it and NEVER went back to it. Nederland never had an answer for that and made NO adjustments to it. Also, EVERY week and getting more and more impressed with the young DB Rivers! Kid is just a flat out baller. 3rd week in a row he's had a pick 6 and he also comes up and makes good open field tackles in the edge. Sky is the limit for this kid and I'm so fortunate to be able to see him growing right before my eyes. Usual suspects did their thing. Our 3 headed monster and RB did their thing, Wilson, Burrell, and Eaglin. QB play was good. I just love that extra dynamic we have with his feet that we DIDN'T have last year. Special shout out to the Timberwolf D-Line for flexing their muscles again for the second week in a row. Those guys just get after it and as one Nederland fan described, fast and mean. Game ball goes to the United coaching staff for actually making a halftime adjustment that works, even after Nederland had taken full control of the game's momentum before halftime. Side note, second week in the row we wore Maroon pants. I think we need to stay with them and leave the gold ones in the closet. Too many tail kickikgs I saw last year when they wore them. Ps. Nederland will be un the district championship conversation in weeks to come. Mark my words.
  19. Never knew Ozen to wear Maroon. Seriously, that joke have ran it's course, don't you think? Smh
  20. Naaah. Yall keep him. Lol
