I just seen on Facebook where ex Silsbee QB Dontre Thomas coined Silbee's current QB Raymond 'CJ' Foster as one of the top 5 Silsbee QBs of all time. One Altime Silsbee great passing the torch to another. Great respect.
WO-S bottom level was full. The top level has 4 sections. 2 sections was all the way full. The 2 sections right below the press box was half full. I couldn't see Silsbee's top level...
Well, Smith's first year was a barnburner vs Carthage. Tyler ran for 300 yards and Silsbee was a red zone fumble away from a state title that year, IMO...
But you have to be physical with kids like that. They have physical players in the secondary, but no length...but they will have tons of fun trying to find a way to stop Silsbee's playmakers on offense.. very tough cover.. and I don't think they'll have a db that can check Cartwright...
I was sold from the beginning. Everyone just wasnt open to change. McGallian did things his way. Smith does it different. Put it this way. My old saying is results, not excuses. These are the same typical talent and athletes that Silsbee puts out every year. Smith has instantly utilized this and seen the results.
Now, I did have a bad angle on that WO-S fumble with the pass in the flat
It looked like an incomplete pass to me, but they called it a fumble and Silsbee ball...
That fumble on the kickoff shouldn't have been a fumble. #11 for Silsbee ran, and slid (like a QB does), then guys tackled him, then the ball came out. He should've been considered down once his knees hit the ground.
Couple of scores from yesterday...
Gold Bracket
Clear Brook - 38
Fort Bend Bush - 53
Silver Bracket
Galveston Ball - 52
Lake Creek - 68
Bronze
Fort Bend Kempner - 86
Houston Madison - 93
I was there too and took it all in. Like you said, we seen two great evenly matched teams. I also seen hella plays and coaching late from the kids in white. I guess it's different viewpoints. I respect your views though..
There was a kicker from Dayton a few years ago with a foot like a mule that kicked those routinely. Haven't seen anyone with a foot like that... until now...
...I called a Silsbee win by a score. Matter if fact, on social media, I called it by 7. You see, it was big plays by kids and also gutsy playcalling by coaches late in that game. I'm not buying that football gods stuff here...
It was WO-S's defense. If the locking is right, that play is a thing of beauty... I have no problem with it. I wish United would go to that type of offense...
