Cleveland moves up to 5A, Lumberton, Ozen, Splendora move down from 5A, Silsbee moves down to 4AD2. Ozen could merge with Central to make a 6A school.
I think Ozen stays up in 5-A

No offense...but what exactly are you basing that on? There's a lot of 4A D1 teams around here that Lumberton couldn't beat. Haven't been able to recently anyway. Aren't they normally in a battle with HF every year? HF couldn't even make the playoffs in D2.
Lumberton had a young team this year, only loosing 7 or 8 starters all together. They should have a few 3 year starters and quite of few 2 year starters next year. With that and hard work they should do well in 4a-D1.

Well, there is no way of telling with the UIL. But given the predictions that he has seen, not only Matt Stepp's but Carl Padilla's, he and I agreed that Lumberton will probably be one of, if not the, smallest school in 5A when the realignment comes out. He even made a request to change the mascot from the "Raiders" to the "Unluckies."
That wont be good for the program.

Coach Babin and I had a brief discussion about that earlier this afternoon.
And?

I saw where the "projected number" was 1125. Y'all will either be the biggest 4A in the state, or the smallest 5A. What a crazy situation to be in.
Yep! I saw somewhere their number was 1121 and projected number 1125 so it should be close to that

By that prediction and the numbers I read it is good no to be interesting for Lumberton for sure. They are right on the number he predicts to be 5A D1. And it put Silsbee only 40 above being 4A D2.
Lumberton is at 1125

If I'm not mistaken I saw 1121 for Lumberton.

I hope your right. Lol

why don't you hope for Lumberton's sake?
Lumberton would be the smallest in D2-5A at 1157.

You would think that the coach would know if one of his players is being recruited.

Carl Padilla's prediction, and he is usually pretty close.
I hope not for Lumberton's sake. lol

Is this correct or a hunch?

And if anyone can obtain individual defensive stats, please submit those so that we can post those too..
I'm not sure the coaches keep up with defensive stats, I have asked for them before and didn't get any.

That would work to an extent. I still think opposing defenses would play man on the outside and stack the box until we start beating them with the passing game, which we wouldn’t do to most of the teams in our district. But that would open things up a little more for the rb.
The qb is good, just need to work on throwing more and teach the wr's how to run routes

Maybe, depends on what numbers they turn in. I also think bottom number raises to around 1200, which might effect Lumberton and couple of others. Of course this just chopping it up, who knows what the UIL will actually do. I do think there'sgoing to be alot of shaking up and more travel than this part of the state is use to.
I'm sure Lumberton is less than 1200

Same as what Lightning said, I think 5A D1 will top out around 2349
Wouldn't this drop West Brook to 5-A?

Lumberton should be able to move the ball on the ground, Central has a lockdown secondary, but doesn't play the run well. But not sure if Lumberton has the defense to hang with the Jags speed. I give the edge to the Jags
Depends on Centrals O-line.

This should be a good game, I smell some changes in the air.

Probably his lowest of the year. One ciccio is bad enough, but having two on the field is just unfair!! Lol
I only heard that name called on special teams.
