i would have to give the edge to West Brook at this point....they've got two, 1000 yard RB's coming back, a decent receiver in josh powdrill, and a five returning starters on defense!! it all hinges on what kind of quarterback they've got coming up to call the signals and run the offense!
-
let's just hope that WB will be a little luckier in the injury department this year....the bruins lost to humble and then to channelview as a result of injuries sustained in the PAM game. i believe that if they have a good signal caller, they could be the team that everyone else in the district is measured by!WEST BROOK
Christian Michaels-RB
He is so explosive every time he touches the ball
Albert Williams-RB
He can run over any guy you can throw at him
Robert White-DL
He covers half the feild
Josh Powdrill-WR
He is so quick and has amazingly gifted hands

How about Albert Williams and Christian Michael from West Brook? They both had over 1300 yards rushing this season, and they will both be back next season.
-
WB should be pretty good next year as this year's team was a very young team. While we are losing a decent QB in Chaisson, the underclassmen this year got some valuable playoff experience....not to mention we have two running backs returning that both had over 1300 yards. Plus, this year's JV team was district champs(7-3, I think). I believe the groundwork that has been laid the past two seasons will prove to be invaluable in WB eventually getting back to a State Title game. Good Luck next year Bruins.

17-14 Cy Falls 3rd

28-17 westlake 4th quarter

does anyone have a score update on this game?

Christian Michael (RB) and Albert Williams(RB) both had over 1300 yards for West Brook this season. They will both be back next year.

WOW.......the sad part about that is the fact that Cy Falls was beatable last week against WB. That could...or should have been WB that beat Katy today. At least we can say that we got beat by a team that did'nt lose in the next round. I think Cy Falls can, and will, beat SA Macarthur next week and advance to their first state final appearance. Good Luck Golden Eagles. Congrats on knocking off Katy!

oh well.... i guess there's always somebody better. congratulations Bruins on a great season. there were alot of other teams that did alot worse. besides, this year's team was a young team with alot of varsity players returning next year. plus, this year's JV team was district champs! this definitely sets things up to have a solid team next year. so, poke your chests out and hold your heads high Bruins, you have nothing to be ashamed of......this was a great year! maybe a better year next season! gotta somehow figure out how to get through that third round :?

that'll work, too!

hey COOP, just FYI, you might want to tell the boys in the studio that are posting the info on the viewing screen, that this weekend's game is the Regional Semi-finals....they have it posted as the Regional Quarterfinals. That was last week's game!
Thanks

how about getting some fans from Beaumont to go to Galena Park, and support the Bruins as the take on Cy-Falls in the regional semi-finals!!!
-
no doubt, it's going to be a tough fought game; but if our defense continues to improve, and our offense continues to mix it up and keep defenses guessing, then I think WB has a better than average chance of knocking off a very good CY-Falls team. Keep in mind, this is a Cy-Falls team that Katy had to come from behind to beat last year in the Regional Finals.....but that was last year! I'm very proud of our boys, even if they don't get past this game. All they've done is lay the the groundwork for future success at the Brook. NOTE: this is the first time in school history that the Bruins have advanced this far in the playoffs in consecutive years. Although they won the state championship in 1982, they lost in the second round in 1983 to Dickinson,10-0.
-
I'll be there......let me extend a challenge to the golden triangle. Since there are no other local teams left to go and root for, why don't you guys make the hour drive to the other side of the beltway(Galena Park I.S.D. Stadium), and support the Bruins. The Cy-Falls team that we're playing is gonna be the toughest and most mirrored team the Bruins have faced this year. What I mean when I say that is, they are a lot like WB, as far as talent and style of offense and defense. We have a very good chance of winning this game and advancing to the Regional Finals/state quarterfinals. Come and support the Bruins, should be a great game!

Well' date=' with only a couple of teams left to play and just about nobody left in the playoffs from this area, tell me your thoughts on the area football this year. Me personally, I don't think atleast for this year we as the golden triangle could compete. Please give me ya'lls insight on this.[/quote']hey.....what about WB? how easily we forget? the Bruins are THE only team still alive. Give credit where credit's due! 8)

Even though it was early in the season' date=' the score between Cy Falls and Westfield is scary. That's the same team that smoked WB early in the season. Proud 92' grad of WB converted to NDN, GO BROOK![/quote']please, keep this in mind.....1)the 35-0 score in that game does not indicate how close the game really was. 2) it was a preseason game that i think the coaches and players were probably expecting to not win. 3) that game was played without QB Joe Chaisson. This is a much better team under much different circumstances. I think the outcome might suprise some folks. What does WB have to lose? Most folks in the Houston area have already counted WB out!
-
i sure hope you're wrong!!CY-FALLS BY 10 -
nope, the were district co-champs.... tied with Cy-Fair at 6-1
-
well, there's always BINGO!
-
West Brook has had two good running backs this season: Albert Williams, Jr., 1345 yds, 145 attempts, 15TD's, 9.3 avg........Christian Michael, Soph., 1261 yds, 137 attempts, 21 TD's, 9.2 avg........ I think they'll both add to their stats, as WB will play for at least one more game, this weekend against Cy-Falls, 3rd round of 16!!!!
-
just thought most folks might be interested to know that our friends over in cypress, tx don't think much of our bruins.....i read on a texasprepxtra.com chat board that they're already looking to a regional final game against katy. apparently they think WB does'nt have much for them to be worried about! hhhhhmmmmmm
-
looks like it will probably be the toughest team the Bruins will have faced. their offense is much like WB's(2532 yards rushing, 2073 yards passing, for 4605 yards on the season-383.8 yards per game). WB's offense has sputtered at times but is the current offensive leader in the greater houston area of teams that are still playing, (3234 yards rushing, 1661 yards passing, for 4895 total yards on the season-407.9 yards per game). i guess it's going to come down to who's defense is better up to the task....i hope the Brook D is up to it! I have to wonder how well Cy-Falls defends the run? 'cause that's what they're gonna see from us!

WOW
i guess WB is the only area team left!!!!
what's westbrook future outlook
