  1. don't know much about either team, but from what I've read, EC is probably the 2A team to beat in the area! ;D
  2. hello, pay attention! I know Chip graduated in 1998, that would have been the 1997 football season,(his senior year) in which they beat Central 30-20 and made it all the way to the 5A D-2 quarterfinals and got beat by Alief Hastings. They made the playoffs the 1996 football season (class of 1997) his junior year, and got beat by Aldine Nimitz 22-8 in the first round. They did NOT make the playoffs the 1998 football season(class of 1999) as a result of going 3-7 overall and 2-3 in district. Their wins that year were against Houston Booker T. Washington, Baytown Sterling, and Central 28-27. ;DBy the way, the 1997 football season, WB lost to North Shore 28-6.
  3. wow...that's pretty impressive. how many state titles did they win? how many games did they win without being scored upon during that streak?
  4. It would have been his junior year, the 96 season, because his senior year they went all the way to the fourth round of the playoffs before losing to Alief Hastings 39-22 in the 'Dome.
  5. are you sure? to my knowledge there was only one Beaumont Bowl game played somewhere besides Cardinal Stadium, and I believe it was BB V. I don't think there has ever been one played at Babe Zaharius. But, I may be wrong.
  6. WOW..very good bcjag, I didn't think anyone else would remember that game, much less the score. I remember that game because when Central won the game, their players tore up our nicely painted helmet in the center of the field. Were you at the game, bcjag?
  7. TRIVIA QUESTION: Can anyone tell me if there has ever been a Beaumont Bowl game played at another site besides Cardinal Stadium?
  8. no no no...the only reason Central went up by two quick scores was because they had their sprint relay team down there in pads suited up. After WB's defense ran them out of gas, our offense climbed back into the driver's seat and didn't look back. A better coached, more mature team will emerge with the Beaumont Bowl trophy......and it should be West Brook...AGAIN!
  9. No question about it...PAM wins this one easily. The field conditions might play a small factor, but I assure you that the Memorial coaches were scouting the hell out of Ozen last Friday night.....so, they will be prepared. Ronnie Thompson will make sure of that. Even though PAM has not played a game yet, it won't matter against a team that played as poorly as Ozen did last Friday. PAM will light up the scoreboards against Ozen!
  10. we can sit here till we're blue in the face trying to determine who might win. the team that makes the fewest mistakes and plays four-quarter football is gonna win, because they are both loaded with talent and speed. In my opinion, (and it's just my opinion) WB will win this game based simply on the fact that they are better coached with a much more experienced coaching staff. Again, that's just my opinion.
  11. which half of the game did you see......cause the first half WB did'nt do much. The second half, they made some adjustments and were able to put some points on the board. I would be super suprised if Central were to beat WB next week. But good luck to the Jags, anyway.....they're gonna need it!
  12. didn't see Central play, but we also didn't see WB's offensive backfield play last night either. If the field is in playable condition, I don't think Central can stop WB's offense. They have too many offensive weapons.....not to mention WB's stellar defense. Brook should take it!
  13. hhmmmmmm....this could make the race for second place in 21-5A a little bit interesting.....next weeks game against WB should be a good one! Congratulations, Jaguars! better bring your A game next week!
  14. geez, scooter......do I sense a bit of animosity, there? LOL
