Seems like a big move when your already into a week of practice. 4A to 2A is a big jump. Playing WOS and Jasper to playing Sabine Pass and West Hardin??? 3500 people in the stands to 200? Knowing everyone in your class to being the new kid your senior year? 2A unranked basketball from 4A top 2? Aggie I'm sure is close to the situation and will enlighten us.

You have to remember that Dontre Thomas was a very good QB last year as well. Barnes caught close to 1000 yards for Silsbee and Tre Lowe is solid as well. I hate to see the Mackey kid leave and if it's his dad trying to get back at Silsbee because he didn't get the job, that sucks. I don't think going to a 2A school will do much for scholarship offers. He was also a good help on the basketball court. I guess someone will née to step up there too.

Did Mackey have an issue with Randy Smith?

Maybe Aggie can shed some light on it. Mackey always seemed to get along great with his teammates in football and basketball. The move mid training camp to a 1A school is head scratching.

There would be no reason for Katy or Manvel to ever play WOS. Not being funny but I go watch 3-4 Katy gamed a year. They could handle some small colleges. Most 4A schools would get a 70 spot!

The way Silsbee dominated basketball, WOS does in football. When someone beats them it is an event and in sure the town would celebrate for days. I think it will be very very difficult for Silsbee to beat WOS with the amount of returning starters they have coming back. I do think it will be a close game and if Silsbee could force a few turnovers and get some stops, they will be in it in the 4th. I'm really looking forward to our new offense and new defense. I have always like when schools put their best athletes on defense. That seems to be what WOS does and it works.

I hope they realign districts again soon for travel purposes. Silsbee will take a 3:30 bus ride to Navasota for a Friday night game and I'm sure 7th and 8th as well. Driving back home at 10pm at night that far is hard for some.

WOS playing Kipp Academy is a joke. That's like playing Scarborough again.

I think the best talent in Beaumont will want to play for a winner like Boutte. I can see more of the former talent that use to go to HJ staying at home for West Brook.

If Silsbee was D2 and WOS D1, do you think WOS would have still won state? Carthage beat down WOS a few years ago and always beat Silsbee. Seems to me Silsbee has a lot harder road to state than WOS.

With Calvin Tyler and Willie Jones III in the backfield along with Thomas, Silsbee will be a problem for WOS. Silsbee has more speed and size this year than years past.
