Let's see, losses to Nederland, Livingston, and Crosby.....wowzers.  PNG still overrated in my book, they are about one to two STUD players away from making another deep playoff run.  PNG still relies on their fan fare to win games for them.  Plus, their helmets are ugly (the name of the school and the mascot on the helmet? really?).  Anyways, should be a good game.  Dayton has had to overcome lots of injuries and an up and down young defense.  Don't know which Dayton team will show up but i'm counting on a high scoring affair.  I give the edge to Dayton.
Well then by all means... PN-G should just not show up and embarrass themselves with their ugly helmets.  ::)

They should just give it to Dayton and tell their fans to stay home.

    Really 7mary3???
Nederland game = Totally different level of playing...doesn't matter the record, always tough, anyone can take that game
Crosby game = Went in WAY to confident coming off a slamming of a weak Gregory Portland team. Underestimated those freakishly good twins. Lost by a point.
Livingston Game = the BULL MAYES ( all the difference in the world)!!!!!!! Mayes didn't play after us....if he would have I think you see an entirely different playoff scene
Believe me we are not taking Dayton lightly....Know that their losses came to some tough teams with the exception of GCM (5 turnovers! :o)
Fine with us to be overrated....just show up and play our game and we'll win.... 8)

I would if "it" bad calls against Orange County teams didn't happen EVERY year. As for as the Bears, they had a though season and things didn't go their way a lot. Hope for a great off-season and better luck next year.
C'mon big red. You seem to be too intelligent of a guy to make a blanket statement like that. Hooks was probably the best at working the refs. I know, here comes all the WOS faithful, but Hooks was way out on the field a lot. Whether he got all the calls or not, he sure put forth an effort. Well, maybe just that one..... ;D

If you are talking about the holding call, I did not see it, but it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Then, when you curse the refs on the field, you are going to get multiple flags.
Actually one of the reasons Hooks won some games...because he could intimidate the refs....Gotta hand it to him, he knew what he was doing....

Now, with that being said, I have some things that PN-G can work on in this meaningless game.(maybe there is meaning since I believe they are playing for seeding for Dayton or the Ant Mound)

    1. Don't go away from what works.  You guys have the greatest mismatch perhaps of any team entering the playoffs with the Nelson kid.  If that kid can make those catches in double coverage, keep feeding him the ball down stretch. You guys had the foot on Vidor's neck and slacked off.

    2. On defense, keep #8 in positions to make plays.

    3.  Keep the offense balanced.  Good teams you will face in the playoffs will stop one or the other.

    4. Don't go away from the trick play.  'Tricky' teams are the dangerous teams in the playoffs.  I love the swinging gate for extra points and the shotgun formation punts that you guys do. Also, I love the guts to call double reverse pass plays.  The offensive scheme is on point.

    5.  You guys need to tell your coach that the backup RB (#25 I believe) to get more time in games than 2 or 3 plays a night.  He's a gamer.  Your staff should be able to see that.  Heck, I know the fans see it.

    6.  I hear that you guys have a Sophmore Reciever.  Since #4 will automatically get a double team, throw to the young gun on the other side.  I hear he's pretty good. It'll be nice to get this kid experienced in playoff football since  you  have him 2 more  years.
About #5, if you can figure this out let me know, there has been alot of talk about this and well not much has happened. Just saying, with him in there in the last few against Vidor, Bertrand is not keyed on as bad and I believe doesn't get hit for a 4 yard loss. Don't think it will happen, but Arvie's brother could come up as a freshman and probably do good. That kid is super....
    6. Chipman is going to be every bit as good as Nelson. He has had great games this year, ie LCM, but sometimes he has brick hands...he is still young, but oh so much potential
    2. #8, Chase Romero, always seems to get in the right position to make plays....luckily this year he's been in the right position with his grades, that's what I get worried about
6! jumping the gun on comparing him to nelson i believe...we will see how his career turns out
Maybe, but he is really good for a sophmore. With wingfield working with him like he did with Nelson, I think he can mold him to the same type of receiver....time will tell....We sure will need him next year with the seniors we're losing, but I think we'll be fine...

I'm thinking more like the BH game. We might suit up the JV team if we play ya'll. Atleast have a couple good playoff years before you smack talk please. Ya'll didn't even beat CE King, Are you kidding me?
Yeah ,but CE King was a power house in the 80's ;)
So was BH in 3A, but have failed to win a 4A playoff game. It's not going to happen this year either no matter how much you pump up BH.
Can't wait to show ya ;D Not going to be pretty to see all of those PNG cheer leaders crying on thier head dresses after the game :'(
Just a clarification....the cheerleaders don't have a head dress, so that is the first impossiblity.... 8)
  9. Manvel
    Manvel
    Manvel
Not necessarily in that order. When we played them in the playoffs last year I had been to see the Saints play that week before and some of the players on that Manvel team could have been bigger than some of the Saints. Very intimidating team....Although the stud quarterback is gone from last year, others have stepped up.......man they're good....they have a good game between them and Pearland Dawson this week....

I am pretty sure that anyone who has ever played for or against a Vidor team knows that Vidor doesn't lay down for anyone, regardless of whether they have anything to gain or whether they have any chance of winning.  They play hard until there is no time left on the clock.

Correct and if PNG loses and Vidor loses and Ozen wins it creates a three way with PNG, Vidor and Ozen in which PNG and Vidor go due to the fact that they both beat Ozen.

Ozen losses out in any three way involving PNG. They only get in with a PNG Win and a Vidor win.

Soulja, that DB was # 8 Chase Romero. Speed! Same kid that took a KO against Crosby 102 yards and picked off Green of Ozen at the five and took it 95 yards for a TD.
He's got 4.4 speed and is an incredible DB...gonna miss him next year! Bandndn....you know if he has been looked at by any colleges?

  14. Gotta go with Vidor. If Vidor keeps working on their passing offense, which did great agaist us, they will be better and have more chances in each game. That running offense takes so much time off the clock and if they get down they need a way to score fast. With that said, Vidor will NEVER give up!!! They fight to the bitter end. That is what I love about them and hate about them when we play 'em. Bull Mayes was and is a huge loss for Livingston. Quarterback is fast as lightning but don't know if that will be enough. If Vidors offense stays on the field like I know they are capable of doing, I think they'll take it. Bollinger will probably rest, but I think the other backs can step up.....being an honest injun, need Vidor to win so we can be Div II #1 seed.......

Never thought I would see the day that Vidor would have more passing yards than PN-G.
Secondary for Vidor is tuff phatmack19 and the great thing is we have 10 coming back next year.We lose Austin Powell #16 and thats it
Several dropped passes by Chipman and Nelson which is not normal.....Have to say that #8 did all he could against Nelson. On one of the interference calls he actually held him from running because he knew he was burnt....it would have been a touch down for Nelson, as it turned out, I hink we ended up with nothing. So he knew he was beat and grabbed him which all good defensive secondary would do and save 6 ponits for his team. Sometimes a penalty against you gives you a second chance....to me it was a smart play
  16.
Benoit was the backup QB behind Tatum and was going to be the QB in 2009 if Burnett stayed. That's where that comment came from. Talk to kids that were in the program then, they will tell you. Doty was running the option on JV and hurt his knee as a sophomore. No doubt he was a great talent, but that's not the issue. My point is, these coaches know what they are doing and for fans to question them on what a kid has done at the end of games during mop up time is ridiculous.
To be honest...he has played against the starters and never missed a beat.  We haven't seen him just at mop up times. But again, we can discuss this elsewhere.... I'm sure mytwocents doesn't care who runs against them tonight, just that Bollinger is running against us...... ;D
  17.
Wow. Shouldn't all you "coaches" be preparing for a game tonight, instead of getting on a message board? Arvie has done really well at the end of games against defenses that have been beaten down. All Bertrand has done is put himself in the elite of all-time PNG rushers and carried the load for us the past two years. If Arvie was the better back, he would have been starting last year as a junior on Varsity instead of Bertrand. The Arvie love I have seen on here and the PNG site is really puzzling to me. Let's remember, if faircloth wouldn't have came here, Doty would not have played QB his junior year and Miller wouldn't have even been a QB. I think I will trust his judgement instead of all you "internet coaches" who have probably never been to a PNG practice to see what the coaches see. Good Lord.
Brennan was going to be starting QB no matter who was coaching from sophmore on....that much talent, so I don't know where that comment came from. I have talked to a couple of the coaches to get the story and some of the same stuff is said which I can see the potential issues. I think most if not all NDN fans recognize the talent from Bertrand. He is incredibe to watch. But, an example of what could happen with both of them in the back field can be seen in the Crosby films. Crosby was keying on Chase and shutting him down until Arvie came in. That is when Bertrand got his big run. We can save any comments on Fairclothes play calling or decisions for another thread because I think we got away from this one. That is to beat some Pirates!! Good luck :D to both teams!!!

I have only seen one game live this year since I live in the DFW area (last week vs LCM)...but he sure did look good..granted the game was over by the time he got into the game.  I'm sure there is a reason why he has been used so little....it's just hard as fans to understand.
I am just gonna go THERE...$$$$$$$
C'mon....Can I get your signature on that?
Fumbling is not why he is not playing.......Consensus with coaches is that Bertrands the guy and you don't want to take him off the field. I agree with that, but think that Arvie could compliment Bertrand very well. Our offense iset up for one back, but seems like the two up back formation could be run more often. If defense has to focus on two hosses seems like that's a better option.

LOVE MY INDIANS....But if Vidor figures out a way to stop Bertrand and the passing game is off tonight....can someone please get a memo to the coach that we have an excellent running back in ARVIE and he IS allowed to use him!!!!  If this kid would have gotten the attention he deserves, he would be right up there in the stats.  Let's go DEFENSE...we are gonna need you tonight
You expressed a sentiment of alot of Indian fans. Much confusion to why he does not play more to take pressure off of Bertrand. Politics I think, which drives me crazy... >:( Arvie can flat out run. And he has tree trunks for legs! If he were at any other school he'd probably be starting and at the top of rushing heap. He rushed for 2600 yards last year on JV. I know its JV but still. Everytime he has gotten the ball this year he has had very good yardage. Just think with both Bertrand and him in the backfield, some of those losses we had could have been wins. I think he will see some action tonight. Vidors D is tough so we will need all the help we can get.
Frodo...Arvie a JR?
Nope...Senior, but he has some brothers coming, one is a sophmore or freshman, that are just as good if not better...actually run the ball a lot...
