Mczeal is not on tonight....too many drops

Seems like we have dropped a lot of passes tonight.

Got to be demoralizing for gcm...

If it wasn't for #7, GCM might be the worst team in the district...

But then again, maybe it's just that they opened district against the top 2 teams in district and that's why they are looking so bad.

I don't know. So far they are better than Baytown Lee. They turned the ball over more for sure. I think their offense could be good. With #7, I think they are better than Lee.

They are passing more than I expected. That Chandoury #7 is a beast. How many passing yards did they have against Central?

WO-S is the real deal. To play Foster like that, shows exactly what they are capable of. Don't see many, if any 3-A teams staying with them. Good luck 'Stangs. Keep rollin'.

True Soulja, although we are gang tackling more this year. Much improved in that area. I just hope we can stay healthy. Another good player(Cody Cropper) may have torn a tendon in his foot. Luckily he is not a starter but does come in often with Halfin, and on special teams, and is a threat. We do have some depth there with Runnels, but we just can keep losing players to injuries. McZeal stepped up and showed some maturity last night. He will be, if not already as a Sophmore, a D-1 prospect. If Sparks, Mczeal, Sulivan, Halfin and Morse, not to mention our line men, can not get hurt, knock on wood, we should be hard to stop on offense. That being said, we can not look at GCM as cake walk. Every team is important now. GCM looked like they can run the ball, so could be a challenge for us. I don't know about their passing attack. I think we come out the winners though.

No matter if it was the refs in the second half are not, we had too many penalties. Penalties that either stopped us driving or pinned us deep in our own territory. It is a lot harder to move down the field when it is 2 and 25. Also, the WOS defensive line did a great job keeping Morse on his toes. The adjustments made by WOS to hinder Giblin was smart. We have other weapons, ie Mczeal, but did not utilize them. And really couldn't because of the penalties. As for the "4th" string quarterback, well I think he proved himself to be a starter. His running ability was awesome. Also, a "4th" string QB for WOS would be a starter on any other team. WOS has always had the most speed of any team we play year after year. PoTeet (Spelling?) is a jewel. That kid is awesome. He will do very well this season. We couldn't stop him.

Seen both teams.....we were just punching bags for both >:(......that said, I say if Vidor can keep Summer Creek O off the field they have a chance. I think Vidor has the ability to do this 'cause of their offense. Summer Creek's linebackers are legit, so it ought to be interesting

All I can say is keep SC O off the field. Slow and methodical drives for the Pirates. I think that is doable because you won't break off much of a big run against those linebackers. If you can hang and tire their defense you may have a chance. When there O does get on the field hang on!!! That big monster running back is brutal and their QB is a stud. Gang tackle, Gang Tackle, Gang Tackle.....Cover tight....try to get some secondary sacks. I don't know if Vidor secondary is weak or not but that QB will beat given any chance.....As for me, well GO PIRATES!!!!

[/quote]I am trying get in touch with Kaleb. Everything I have heard is hearsay, I admit, but from very reliable sources. I am hoping to get the laser time established from the combine. If I can't produce I will surely admit it. Don't know if I can get substantive proof on the 4.37, like I said all hearsay from more than a few individuals that witnessed it and coaches. Don't think it was written down. I know that the 4.37 was from hand held so I am sure there was human error involved. None the less, with his speed, I stiil don't know why he hasn't been on offense....

[/quote]Where did you get this 40 time for Bolt? I have found some estimates that have him at sub 4 but most say 4.0 or 4.1, Thing about Bolt is that he has a slow start, but turns the after burners on as he builds speed....Did he run a combine style 40? DO you have an article?

Is it a combine type 40 with the laser watches, no, but it ain't that far off. He does have some official times in the 100 that are faster than Ceaser from LCM. He is running track this year and is expected to go to State. He didn't run track last year because he wanted to focus on baseball. We will have to see. He has been consistently running 4.4 flat for awhile now. You said you have seen him, have you been there when he has run the 40? Or just on the football field. Did you see him against WOS on the 100 yard return. Nobody could catch him. He doesn't get alot kicked his way because most coaches have scouted him. The St. Louis Cardinals have contacted his dad so for a high school kid he must have something going. Watch him steal bases on the baseball field and then question his speed. He is getting alot of looks for baseball and not football because he is small. He has had some calls for football though. Many people here have asked why he is not on offense. He said it is because as a freshman he dropped alot of passes, but he's a senior now, I'd give him a try.

Wish I could show you a laser stop watch time. Don't have one. Based on him he is running track this year for better recruiting hopes. So we will see. Believe me it was hard for me to believe a white kid from Port Neches could run that fast but he does. As far as the World series thing, well that is cute....I am just saying for a Pro team to contact you, you surely have some swag. Is Michael Shaw going to run track?

[/quote]Call the Port Neches coaches....they are the ones that timed him. BTW, he is getting looked at by colleges just for his speed 'cause he ain't that big. Also, pro scouts for baseball have looked at him too. So yes he actuallly is getting alot of looks because of his speed. That is why many are frustrated for him just playing defense. One of Faircloths philosophy is to not play kids both ways, but sometimes you have exceptional kids that should go both ways...
