Kirbyville is much more of a balanced team this year. How do you think they will do in the playoffs? Srengths and weakneses

I watched BCs Bertand warming up pregame and he had no problem hitting them from the 50 beyond. Not the same as a game  but impressive to see.

My thoughts exactly Kats  I tell my kids all the time how lucky they are to have so much support. We even had a small crowd for an out of town girls JH track meet last year. (Now thats some love ;D)

I think the question was could Kirbyville beat ANY team. Meaning picking one of them, not any meaning every one. NOW I am confused ??? ;D ???

Sorry call BS if you want. Did not just pick a stadium at random. Only game I have ever been to there.  Nothing against Silsbee team, coaches, or fans they had nothing to do with it. No arrests or anything just left many people wondering what was up.

It is always great to see how many fans travel to see the Wildcats play no matter how far the game or what the weather is like. When you look across the field and their are more visitors than the hometown side it just feels like a win before kick off.  And we stay 'till the final tick of the clock win or loose. I don't care if it is a long ride home, the parking lot is a nightmare and there is no way we can win. Do you think that strong hometown support takes away from some of the home field advantage?

I respectfully disagree. I believe they could go all four quarters. Nothing special about the 'Cats I think most "skill position" players from any respectable team could do it. As long as the linemen (who do all the heavy work) get a break, they would do fine. I can think of at least one player from most every team we have played that could be a play maker every down, every quarter, every game and then go dancing when he was done. The score did not really show it but Jasper had some decent moments game. Simple mistakes not lack of talent. JMO Armstrong is a great back but you cant run him up the middle 90 percent of the time and not have the D adjust to it. QB throws the ball way too hard and rushes himself too much. There is a different between fast and hard. He has quick feet and is a threat on the ground and in the air. He also is not getting set before the pitch losing the ball too often. If he does not have control of the ball how can they expect him to do anything with it. Over the head snaps, and penalties. Not casting stones Kville has lost a few to stuff like muffing kicks, penalties and stupid turnovers. (The horrible roughing kicker this week) Jasper has too much talent to be held back for long. Just need some coaching and experience.

I have seen this twice. At a playoff game I was waiting in a long line at the bathroom. A Kville fan lit a cigarette which he should not have done but a cop jumped on him and put him on the ground and cuffed him like he tried to kill someone. The guy claimed that he did not even relalize that he lit it that he just did it out of habit. But they drug him out of there just the same. Why not just have him put it out, give him a ticket or ask him to leave? A few years ago (may be 6) Kville fans got the same reception in Silsbee. Four cops lined up on the track looking up in the stands and one across the field with bioculars scanning the crowd. Did not give you a warm welcome feeling. First time there was a call the fans did not like it got real tense. No explanation for the high security.

No we did not win state even at 2A level. But we were there (twice) and a whole lot of folks would love to say that. If you think of how many schools there are in Texas, how much talent is out there, and all the teams you have to go through you have to know that a team that makes it to state at 1A or 5A has to have something special. After all Texas is the land of high school football! As for depth....... We hear about it everytime we play a bigger school. The young men in Kirbyville think everyone plays both ways. They don't know any other way to play. Iron man football or not I have never seen them get gassed. I would not say they could beat any 5a team, But I would go as far as they could leave any team knowing that they were just in a ball game. JMO  ;D

I've notice every time anyone posts anything Kville_Kats seems to have a problem with it. Not just on here but other forums as well. I don't know how he/she got to be the self appointed ruler of what is a nessesary post, thread or opinion when it comes to Kirbyville football. But frankly I a sick of you seeing you pop up with something negative if it is not you or two or three others on here that started it. Yes I know there is a Jasper Kirbyville thread and like so many others after a few days it is watered down and gets off topic. I was wondering spesificaly about score predictions. Thats why I posted it under score predictions. I sincerely appologize to everyone else on here for feeling that I had to post this. But everytime I make a post this poster seems to feel that he/she has to sound off. I am sorry that I dont have 1000 posts but I would think any conversations would be wecome. Good luck to both teams tonight and hope for injury free games for all the local squads.

Jasper might be down but I would never count them out. Kville has been on auto pilot for three weeks so they will have to be ready. I still have to go with the 'Cats. No blow out but I think we still take a solid win. Don't take them dawgs for granted. They did not lay down last year and don't expect anything different in 2010. Glad to play a team with some heart! I was up at the JH games last night and I heard Alverez put the boys through a tough week of practice this week. Things have been a little easy too for them through the last few weeks and he wanted them tuned up like it was the big dance it's self! Should be a great game. By the way Jaspers eighth grade team were straight killers. Looked like a high school squad,. Very big, very fast, very agressive. Some of the hits rattled your teeth all the way up in the stands. Only problem they had was penalties. Tons of face mask, late hits, offsides. They were physicaly dominant enough did not need any extra help making the play. Kirbyville never gave up but could not do much with them. Those boys will be hard to deal with in a couple of years. Good luck to Jasper and the 'Cats tonight. Wilcats all the way Cats by 14
