Haha. Amazing... ;D
Nothing wrong with a man waiting to have nice soft feet.
The way I see it, that is one of those things that fall under "don't ask, don't tell."
Running bleachers forces everyone into a set stride length..... That and the soft surface for impact and football specific purposes are good reasons to run hills rather than bleachers.
Kudos for coach Nelson, looks like he's found his thrill on Panther hill!!  ;) ;)

Nuff said. Never really said he would be a good back and be one of the top five but he does have "legit" 4.4 speed.
According to whom?  DCFM :D? His coach  :D? A fan  :D?  Or a "LEGIT" organazation that has an official, not fantasy  40 time on him.
It takes me 5 seconds just to get up off the couch.  ::)

 9. "There's a big football tradition here but it's been buried in the sand - people have forgotten about it," Jones said. "I'm here to resurrect it." Now that's a coach not afraid of a challenge.......He might just be the man that can turn things around at HI "I thought this was a place where I could really do some good," Jones said. "This was a place needing direction, needing leadership. Isn't that why you get in to coaching - to make a difference for kids?" Spoken like a good coach en route to being a great coach.
 10. First of all I give 1/2 the credit to the O/L for the first 5-10 yards a runner picks up past the line of scrimmage...Open Field Yards (11-plus past the line) and "Highlight Yards" you got to give to the back. It's tough to pick the top backs because there are so many Variables...like Speed, (40 time.) Burst/Quickness..I mean a guy that is able to get to top-speed in 2 or 3 steps is better than a guy that takes 40 yds.to reach his top speed. Flexibility/body control, running inside, running Outside, receiving, blocking, reading blocks/intuition/vision, protecting the Football..... and even if you do the work to compile and compare all these it can still be a shot in the dark sometimes....So here's my shot   (1) Bertrand - PNG the workhorse of 20-4A, he stays at my #1 until proven otherwise. (2) Livingston's backfield - I just can't break these guy's up. (they really have 4 backs QB Collins 97 carries, 957 yards.) (3) Vidor's 3 backs, I can't break them up either. (4) Troy Benjamin - Nederland, this kid put up good #s last season. (5) Alex Sezar - LCM, for a back that had less than 40 touch's he had 8 YPC, I think he'll be LCMs feature back this season. I don't have any #s on Jacoby Jones - Ozen, but I see he's in some top 5s and he wouldn't be getting talked about if he wasn't a pretty good back. I know I left some out that will be good backs this yr. but the thread stated best 5........Note: these picks are subject to change without prior notice, if necessary...or if I feel like it.  ;) ;)
 11.
Actually, Vidor can talk.  They know what it takes to be a contender.  Tha 2009 team made the playoffs and was pretty darn good.  Some of them know what they are talking about.
8)  I think I'll let the Pirates do their taking on the field this year.

 13.
The SouthEast Texas chapter of TASO starts their weekly meetings tonight. Anyone interested in becoming a football official is invited. We will meet every Monday from now until the end of the season at 6:30 pm at the IBEW hall on Spindletop rd in Beaumont. Come join us!
Everyone who referees, imo is doing so for the same reason...they have a love for the game. They don’t choose to put themselves in a position to be criticized because of the pay..:D....They just want to give back to the sport that they have spent their life around. No one is perfect and bad calls are inevitable. They are the last thing that the people who bear the responsibility of making these calls want to happen. So don’t chastise a ref the next time a call doesn't go the way you wanted. Instead, shake his hand after the game and tell him he called a good game. At the end of the day, he shares the same passion for the sport and loves the game just as much as you........ 8)
 14. I thought so....thanks  :)
 15. BrenhamFan, didn't Stratford drop from 5A to 4A a few years back??

We know Coldspring have some talented players, but we have STUD players too! You better recognize!! Yes we are in a rebuilding year, but doesn't mean we're lacking in talent. dang football season need to hurry up!
You are the favorites in the district for now. If Jasper gets on board with the new coach then Jasper will be the leader. Kville will not be able to keep pace with the larger schools on a year in year out basis. I fully expect you to make the playoffs but you will not beat Coldsprings in the pre-district.
Hmmm....... :)
Hey I understand, no problem at all.. 8)  That should be a great game @ Montgomery. Looking at last years scores, Montgomery and Houston Stratford gave y'all the best district competition last season.

 23.
Peveto is the head knocker. He played LB last year and is moving to Safety this season. Big kid with good speed for his size (6'3" 190) who laid some shots late last year afetr being inserted into the lineup during district. And he was only a Sophomore last year. Also Hollier looked pretty good in coverage for the two or so games he played late last year, but he was hurt to start the season got back late in district then got hurt again I think against Central. Hopefully he stays healthy. If so I think our secondary will be pretty good. The big question marks will be up front and MLB. Sperl and Louviere on the outside played well late last year. Replacing DJ in the middle will be tuff.
No doubt in my mind that PNG will have a very tough secondary this season, y'all got a couple head hunters prowling around out there that are definitely mobile and hostile..... ;)

There's a bunch of good kids in Kountz that just want to be competitive in their chosen sport. I hope the new AD/HC can give them a fighting chance to do that.
