This episode is a total embarrassment , to every tax payer in Beaumont. I am not surprised of the decision by Atkins to take legal action. That's what happens, when you have incompetent individuals running your day to day operations. Their decisions are hurting our kids and community. Personally, I don't think they give a damn. How much more of this nonsense, are we going to endure ? Before TEA steps in and put an end to this night mare.

I bet that is the real plan since BISD admin has ties, vested interest there, jmo. they could care less about WB or OHS.

Trust me Bluedove, but enough is enough with BISD. As I am not a tax payer of BISD I would be pissed at everyone accociated with BISD for allowing a contractor as well as employees to steal MILLIONS from me. They all need to roll no matter the color or creed! White, Black, Red, Blue....etc!!! The kids deserve more!!!

The issue isn't whether other districts have had scattered improper incidents, the issue is that BISD has one improper incident after another.  It's constant, and it needs to stop.  The biggest thing I see is that the leadership at BISD (and apparently some community members) are so arrogant as to think they can still do whatever they want.  Hence the hiring of Atkins.  It was disclosed at some point, and that information wasn't given to all of the board members.  Once again, a few in leadership are believing that they can hide info from others, in order to accomplish whatever it is they have on their agenda. 

IMO ! Once again BISD AD & everyone else involved in the hiring process of Mr. Aktins didn't do their homework. Per, the news media Atkins disclosed all the necessary information concerning the allegations against him. At that point an educated decision should have been made to accept him as a viable candidate or decline his application. This is a total disgrace to the student / athletes @ Ozen and community with all the other nonsense factored into the equation as well. If you're trying to build Champions and Character. It doesn't start by hiring someone with Dirty Laundry. Get it together BISD ! You're hurting the Kids & destroying the Community !

Congrats to Coach Atkins, I wish him much success @ Ozen Magnet High School. He, turned North Forest into a winner and those kids believed in him and his program. 
 
Let's give the man an opportunity to prove himself. IMO I expect him to do just that.  I look forward to watching the Ozen Panthers perform in 2014.
 
P.S. Magee has moved on, and so should we ! There is a new Sheriff in town !  GO PANTHERS !

Coaches can't fool kids. When kids trust and believe in you, they will run through walls for you. The kids will know if he truly cares about them. You can't fake it. If he was successful in NF, maybe he can come over here and pull it off. Talent will take you only so far. But kids believing in their coach will take you further.

Did yall notice the scores of their district games? WOW!!

I have to put some of you guys on point! I don't care if you coach pop warner, junior high or high school, you still need to be able to put players in their right positions and have an offense and defense that can stop the other team! Yes, I admit that I gave PS3 Magee the benefit of the doubt because that is how I was raised to think positive 1st, but several of you were right about him even though it was hard for me to understand his 8 & 22 record for him to be hired!
 
I do know one thing about sports and that if you have experienced winning on several levels then you should have learned something along the way, unless you are an idiot! I've watched film on North Forest when Atkins was there and I was impressed with the multiple formations that he ran on offense. His defense was aggressive and he excelled in H.S., College & NFL as a player, damn does this speak for anything? Some of you can't be Haters all your life, support the new hire and if he is "Pooh Cheese" then 2 bad hires in a row means whoever does the hiring doesn't know what they're doing, bottom line. 

Ok, after a little research, the guy was a two way Div 1 All-State player at QB & DB leading his team to a State Championship! Played at Iowa and was an All-Big 10 Selection at DB and played professionally at 49er's! He runs Spread, Empty, I-Formation with Double Tight Ends, Pro-set, and even let's his fullbacks carry the ball. He spreads the ball around and even though he may have been in a week district, he did what he was supposed to do and that's "Win!" BISD may have gotten something right this time!

Well if dude can handle the merger of Smiley and Forest Brook and get those kids to play together and win, he may do a good job at Ozen. I know he can't be worse than PS3 Magee! Plus he's getting some very good players at Ozen.
