8 walks killed Lamar tonight.  7 runs on 8 hits and 8 walks did LU in. 

Has anybody noticed what Matt Cross did today?

I've taken note of what Matt Cross has done in Port Arthur too, but he needs a couple of years on the bench as an assistant for a lower level D1 program.  Jumping from Lamar-Port Arthur to the HC job at Lamar Univ in Beaumont could set him up for failure rather quickly.

How much "lower level" can ypu get than Lamar as the program currently exists?  Matt Cross needs to be given a really good look.

I had high hopes for Roc.  It was nice having a coach that WANTED to be here, not using us as a stepping stone.  But you GOTTA WIN.

They have had the resources and Roc has done NOTHING with them.

Will Matt Cross from Lamar PA get any consideration?  He has been great there.  I am not endorsing him....just asking the question.

It seems that Gilligan is happy to schedule the lesser teams and pad his win total.  This program isn't what it used to be.  The rest of the conference is either catching up with us, or has passed us up.  There was a time when we were head and shoulders above the rest of this conference....now we are becoming a small spot in their rearview mirrors.  

I agree that NDSU was very competitiive with us this weekend....but I think that says more about how poorly Lamar played rather than how well NDSU played.  We will again end up fighting to make the conference tourney this year.  But I doubt LU will catch lightning in a bottle like last year's tourney.

And yes, I go to all the games.  I have had season tickets for years.   I read the stats, but I learn with my eyes.   Recruiting for LU has been on  the decline for several years.  I am not impressed.  Haven't been for 3 years.

I think we have all given up.  The future isn't with Roc.

I gave up me season tickets last year.  Roc's teams find more way to lost than the Houston Texans.  I gave up.  It's time to asee what Gilligan's crew can do.
