well with all the budget uncertainty with Texas public schools I bet Long was waiting to make sure the hiring would be official. No reason for him to jump ship and then not have the job he is leaving for work out because of budget reasons. Keep that in mind before bashing him.

Ancelot is the best hs girls basketball coach in the area when she was coaching. if that isn't great i don't know what is.

It is the right decision. She has not been producing since she had those good players that went D1. What I don't understand is how WO-S is deciding to arbitrarily get rid of some coaches who have not been producing yet keeping others. I am not going to name names or sports but there is a coach who has not gotten past 2nd round in his sport and missed playoffs two years in a row yet he keeps his job because he is good buddies with the new AD.

Coaching boys and girls is different. Anyone with kids of opposite genders knows that. Nice ol Gary Blair at A&M would not be treated with the same respect by the men's team there. It makes you wonder if the AD there really cares about boys basketball when he hires someone like that.
