that would be interesting. Hancock is a great coach and deserves a shot as a head basketball coach. Would never have expected (well never mind not gonna go there).

Does she have ANY coaching experience? Seems like they are putting this young lady in a tough situation at one of the area's top programs. H-J filled its coaching opening with a coach who won two state championships. Orangefield brought in someone fresh out of college. Good luck

In a way WO-S and La Marque are kind of similar to each other. Once bigger classifications but have dropped as people have moved out of the district, poor performing schools, both have changed in terms of demographics, both are teams with almost all black players coached by white coaches, La Marque is expected to dominate 3A just like WO-S was expected to, both have championship tradition.

Congrats on a good season BC! To be the best you have to beat the best and they just ran into the best a few rounds too early.

So let me get this straight... H-F has had for its head basketball coach the last four guys: a football/baseball coach, a girls basketball coach, a middle school basketball coach and now a former college coach who hadn't coached high schools since the 1970s. How about hiring a boys high school basketball coach to coach the boys high school basketball team? Try that and see how it works.

I would imagine it is harder to keep assistant coaches at a 2A school

I agree with Bobcat. Good regular season coach, not so much in the playoffs. One playoff win in three seasons?

Some are zoned for more than one HS and you get to choose. My neighborhood is zoned for West Brook or Central HS and Marshall or Austin Middle School.
