1. I know he loves to coach, but being an AD can open up some doors other places as well. At least we know he's not coaching for the money.
if i only had a nickle for all of his "my source says"... ::)
Like I said somewhere else, everyone's brother's mother's cousin is an inside and highly respected source close to Pres. Simmons, Tidwll, Coach Woodard, and President Obama.

UALR remains as a Sunbelt thorn. Lamar could solve that problem. And I bet the SLC won't kick out our other sports.
I can shut this one down pretty quick. SLC rules state that member institutions must participate in SLC sponsored sports, and cannot participate in another conference if the SLC offers that sport. Only sports that are not sponsored by the SLC (women's bowling for example) are allowed to be under another conference.
Yeah I know that rule. Rules can be changed or Lamar joins the Summit. We would kick butt there in every sport.
They just made the rule this year, probably in response to the idea that a team would try to be a football-only member in another conference. So, no, they probably wouldn't bend the rules for Lamar.

 5.
Yeah they are actually offically just the Louisiana. All their logos say Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns. ULM HATES it.
It's their move similar to the SWST/Texas State ordeal. It makes them look more important in the state than they really are.
 6.
Weird because when they were talking about Appalachian beating Michigan they mentioned the Lamar win over Baylor.
;) ;)
 7.
What time is the baseball game tonite. Anyone know
Why didn't you just go to LamarCardnials.com, it's on the splash page.
 8. The SLC doesn't HAVE to add football schools, we're at the same number of schools as before. What we need is two more schools that play basketball.
 9.
:D Touche, but you know what I really meant?  I'm thinking 22pts a game would be good for someone 6'7!
I'm just razzing ya. No worries. She probably just wasn't a starter on her team. I would imagine she did that with limited playing time. If playing time is the issue, her rebound & block numbers are impressive
 10.

6'7" wow. Bring it on Brittany Griner....
I wonder how someone that tall can only avg 10pts a game.
Well, they can get 12 points one game and 8 points the next. Then they can score 14 and the next game only score 6, but then come back and score 10. That averages 10 =)
 11. Tidwell came to Lamar in 2007, and hosted a summer camp: [Hidden Content]
2007 Larry Tidwell's Lamar Lady Cardinals Basketball Camp June 18-21, 2007 9am-4:30pm Location:  Lamar University Phone:  880-1740 Admission:  $125.00 Summer Camp II: Girls - Grades 5-12 Each Camper Receives: -Daily lunch buffet -Basketball T-shirt -Personal Written Evaluation -Certificates for Contest Winners -Camp Certificate

I don't think not having a kids camp over the summer is going to ruin his PR rep.
It doesn't help it.
 13. Third game: Kats win it 3-2, but not after the Cardinals put 2 on with 2 outs.
 14. I'm not sure that's the best PR for a new coach coming in.
 15. Last year when Jason Hooten came on the scene at SHSU, he still held a summer basketball camp. Granted, he already had a home in Huntsville, that make not seem like a big deal, but even first year football coach Willie Fritz held a summer camp his first year. Did Tidwell hold a basketball camp his first year at Lamar?
 16. Kats win 3-2  with a walk off base hit in the bottom of the 9th.
 17.

Oh, and they through USC at #17 because their 80,000 average fans can't fill a 95,000 seat bowl? The rest is pretty accurate, though
I have friends from PAC 10 schools and others that have worked games there. They all have told me USC is TERRIBLE. I've never been myself.
Really? I've watched games on tv before and it seems like the place is rocking.
 18.
[Hidden Content]
How much money does a typical Lamar Home Game bring in?
 19.
Again I ask you, who has come out of this area since Gulley that had his skill set and was not being recruited by UT, OU, or the NBA? You can say all you want, but LU is not going to win a recruiting batle with any of those programs for local talent! We signed the Hardeman (I think that was his name) kid from Silsbee a few years back and he bolted after one good freshman season for Tennessee! Bose - NSU - Australia Clavell - SHSU - Puerto Rico Pratt - NWS - NY, NY Gibson - UTSA - Houston P.Richard - MSU - Carencro, LA Kaplan - MSU - Canada Baker - NWS - NY, NY Watt - AMCC - Chicago M.Johnson - UTSA - Dallas J. Hill - UTSA - Australia This is the list of the top scorers in the league this year. Notice they are all from "afar". Not one home grown talent. Richard would be the closest as Carencro is about 70 miles from LC. UTSA wins the conference and go check their roster, not a lot of kids from SA which has a much larger market than the GT.
Great, logical post.... They actually DO exist!
 20.
Also, Silsbee's Eddy Fobbs was a Cardinal killer playing for Sam Houston.
That's the problem with local players that are really good. Sometimes they want to get out of the area.
 21.
This sucks.  This team probably couldn't beat West Brook, Memorial, Central or PNG.  Better change the scheduling philosphy fast or the fan base will dwindle.  When it was announced that LU was bringing football back, the excited fan base wasn't imagining games against Texas College I can promise you.
Just make all the opening game flyers as LAMAR vs. TEXAS and see how many people show up. Just leave off the college ;)
 22.
Just having fun.  But there's some good threads over on bobcatreport.com talking about the WAC, SBC, SHSU, LU and other related stuff.
I try to stay away from just about anything Bobcat related, those guys have major ego issues.
 23.

Woodard and Tidwell claim no contact with the WAC. Maybe they are talking to a NAIA conference. GAWD, No way would the WAC allow a member to play a NAIA or at a FCS. Is this Lamar saying no FBS?
Lamar and SHSU to the WAC in 2013!
And where did you get THAT information? I feel like there's a new WAC comment every few days.
