I think all games should be televised as long as the TV station is willing to give up some of the sponsorship money to the Lamar program.  There are many people unable to go to the games for many reasons.  GO BIG RED!
I love that the games are televised. I think that sends a strong message that people and business are supporting Lamar football.
 3. Contrary to what people think, most athletic venues make their money off of concessions, not ticket sales. Look at Minute Maid Park and you'll see why they are willing to give up those cheap seats at the top. Their intention is to get you in there and for you to buy popcorn, hotdogs and sodas that all cost you 10 times more than it cost them.
 4. That's definitely true. I was shocked when Lamar first released their schedule and it contained quality FCS teams. Woodard is right, it will only make the team better.
 5. I watched the Lamar/SHSU Game online and it was "sold out," but I still saw a few pockets of empty seats. Is this like the Texans where they've sold out every game since they opened, but still have tons of empty seats. Technically, every game should be a sell out because students can get free tickets, they just won't show up.
 6.
South Alabama is actually a Sun Belt team, but they did beat Nicholls State a few weeks ago so they will be tough to beat.
Oops, you're right. I don't know why I gave them so much credit. They  beat by Nicholls, who has been having an off year for the last 3 years or so. Heck, they only beat Bacone 44-28. By those numbers, I think y'all can beat them.
 7. The Cards will be better off because the schedule contains weaker teams, outside of South Dakota: Langston - NAIA South Alabama - CUSA (2009 Start-up) North Dakota - FCS (Recently DII) Georgia State - FCS 2010 Start-up South Dakota - FCS (Upset Minnesota) Oklahoma Panhandle - Division II It seems like the Cards have a great chance to finish 4-2 with wins over Langston South Alabama Georgia State (Upset win) Oklahoma Panhandle
 8.
I saw alot of todays practice and our 1st. team offense went against of 1st. team defense. looked like Logan and Hussey averaged better than 6 yards a carry.....Was told we would run the ball alot this week....If we can block a little we can run the ball better or just run against our defense......
I think the Sam game is proof enough that anyone can gain 6 yards per carry on the LU defense. I'm not surprised by that at all.
 9.

This LU football team is better than I have seen them play the past two games. I have attended every game except the McNeese game and there is no SPARK!! Offensive line cannot open even the smallest hole!  It cant be that hard to do a little run blocking!!   Defense isnt HITTING anyone and when they do its a shoulder NO ONE wraps up!!  As for Bevil being hurt, I call BS!! Seen him before the game walking without a limp, seen him come out without his ankle taped, then after the score got bad his ankle was taped. I am not impressed with him what so ever. Put someone else in the game if nothing more than to get them some reps and show Bevil he isn't the ONLY QB on the team!!! GET BACK TO THE BASICS!! Basic blocking, and tackling!! I dont mean to sound Negative but I think this team is better than they have been playing!! I am only a innocent bystander and will continue to support LU the entire game! I refuse to leave at halftime or 3rd qtr like some!!!
I totally agree.  Bevil is a prima donna.   Plus, he has to be the skinniest person I've ever seen in my life.  He needs to be introduced to the weight room.  He pulled the same crap against SFA, get down and man does he start limping!!  I thought Christian Louis was scared to take a hit at WB but this guy just may be even more scared than him.  O line is young.  They each need 30 lbs and then we'll be ok.  Also I am ready for defensive changes.  I want Coleman at linebacker where he belongs.  I wan the 215 lb defensive end either at linebacke or on the bench (number 33) but he is too dang scrawny for a defensive lineman!  Get some beef on the d line!!  Put Coleman  where he can make more plays!  I've also been a little harsh with the kicking game. However, now I realize it isn't the kicker, it is the punter. Oh, and put hussey back in the game.  Oh, and #23 needs to be used differently.  I think his name is Ploch.  There has to be abetter way t use a stud like that.  Finally, what about Chavis.?  How about moving him to defensive end in place of 33?  They are wasting him at tight end because they never throw him the dang ball! Screw it, let me coach!
Bevil is wasting him as a tight end. TEs can play a HUGE roll in opening up running games and downfield passing, but Bevil is intent on throwing it for a TD each play. If Bevil would take the time to read the defense and complete short passes and move the chains, the long bombs will open up. I'd be interested if there was stat that compared the average yards attempted versus the average yards completed.

Also our def line and o line are to little and can't Handle teams that are big and physical up front, Lamar will be fine once they get some big o line recruits and def line recruits.
And our skill players are younger, if not the same in classification as Lamar's skill players. The future is bright for SHSU!
I was EXTREMELY impressed with Flanders.  Granted, our crappy tackling helped but that guy is really good.  I can't believe how physically stout he is for young guy.  We definitely need whatever SHSU is eating.  There guys were just physically bigger/stronger than our guys.  heck their wide receivers looked like our linebackers!
I'm not sure if it's just the video feed or what, but there was a definite size disadvantage. Your DL looked much much smaller than the Kat OL. SHSU Starting OL (from 2 deep): D. Jenkins 6-4 290 R. SMith 6-4 290 T Watson 6-2 295 C. Pound 6-3 295 K. Hopson 6-6 290 Lamar Starting DL (from 2 deep): J. Coleman 6-3 250 M. Foster 6-4 260 A. Dorsey 6-3 312 D. Jackson 6-3 215
 11. Bevil needs to learn to read defenses. It's like he's playing a video game and chooses what he wants without realizing that teams can disguise their blitz packages. Bevil had 310 yards, which is great on paper, but it's because of the huge play by Jackson. When you complete only about 50% of your plays, it shows that you're just chunking it down field and getting the big plays. As for Hussey, I agree, he should have not been benched. The team finished the game with -23 yards, primarily because of Bevil's sacks. There were only 9 rushing plays total. I think Whitten and Woodard gave up on the run too early. It makes playing against Lamar very easy. If the defense knows you aren't going to run it, they can design blitz packages to attack you.
 12. Another Bevil pick. I think he could be a good QB if he made smarter reads. He seems to just throw it up and hope a Card comes down with it.
 13.
Is Sam playing the freshman QB?  He put the britches on Gardner Webb last week.
Yes, Brian Bell is a true freshman, and he's done well. Flanders is also a freshman, and has over 150 yards.
 14.
Lamar lost possession on an incomplete pass not a fumble... stupid refs are not calling the right penalities. Refs are ruining this game
I disagree. The Cardinal defense has been unable to stop the inside option and overcommits to the play action.
 15.
Sam recovers a fumble
Sam caught a break on that one. That wasn't a catch.
 16.
Now that there is game films on Lamar looks like people are able to prepare for them. Good luck Cards.
There's been game film on Lamar. Whitten isn't new to the SLC. Teams should be able to prepare for him based on old Sam game film and now the few games Lamar has played.
 17.
Everyone stop twisting up words. No one expected LU to win. No one expected a close game. I did expect LU to play every down. This game reminded me of a 1980's 30 second Tyson fight. LU took one punch and quit.
Go read the first page, some people expected wins. I expect a team to go out there and play every down.
 18.
I bet we have more penalty yards than offensive production
Close: 149 total yards, 85 penalty yards. As of the start of the 4th
