1. Dickie- If you will identify that situation as a statistical fluke, it will get a more heated response. ;D
 2.
No you told me to take my emotions out of it and I did...I will bet you a $20 on the game, just because its STILL NEDERLAND...at the end of the day.  ;)...How bout it?
You can take your choice.  I will bet you $40 to $20 that Nederland covers the 4 point spread or I will bet you $20 to $20 that Nederland wins outright.  I plan to pay you immediately if I lose- Can I count on you to do the same?
 3. And be mindful of the fact that today, before the bell rings for that first class, you have already been properly and appropriately instructed in humility.
 4. Should I read between the lines that you think Ozen will win a close one but you are not in a betting mood?
 5. Ok  get rid of your "emotional side" ( which means you were BSing everybody) and draw the "enlightened line"  And for the record, Miami is NOT and never has been a perennial NBA power( and West Orange Stark has been to Austin but that doesnt mean they are a perennial power either) so I maintain that my analogy is accurate
 6.
It wasn't even a blasted dunk.  He didn't touch the rim.  he threw it down, therefore, it's NOT 'Billboard' worthy.
Soulja- Since Perkins was defending between Griffin and the basket, shouldnt Griffin have abandoned the dunk in favor of the SMRJ?
 7.
At the end of the day, its STILL NEDERLAND.... ::)...Not Yates, not Wheatley, Not Madison, Not Lincoln, Not FW Dunbar.....its......Nederland....Ozen by 10... ;)
Does that mean the Celtics will beat the Heat because at the end of the day its still MIAMI?  IF you are drawing the line Dickie at Ozen minus ten, I will take Nederland and put up $2 for every $1 you choose to put up.
 8. Is Humble a 4-a team?  Are they likely going to want to play a team in a lower classification for a warm up game?
 9.
Ricky Seals-Jones is the BEST big man in Region 3!
I thought Silsbee already had experience playing against him,  I also heard that, other than Seals, the rest of the team is not that great.

 11.
I understand that Silsbee is wanting to play a select number of teams over in the Houston area with a dominant big. ;) I also understand this to be very doable.  ;)
I may not be sufficiently in touch with what is out there in the playoffs.  What potential opponents in the first round or two have a dominant big man?  The only good one I have heard about plays at LaVega.
 12.
All of this talk of a possible tie breaker game between the Tigers and Hawks is jumping the gun a little with both teams having a couple games to play.  This year it appears there will be not much benefit to either route to Austin.  The only game that should be "easy" will be the first game for the second place team,  from that point on  each team will have to face a team that is quite capable of winning the region.  By the statements on here people can conclude that the Tiger coaches would rather just flip a coin than play the Hawks again.  There are many points to ponder.  One, would you rather have the bye in the first round or play and stay in that two game a week rhythm.  Some big points for the Tigers were brought forth by the game that this thread was about.  It is never hard for either HJ or the Tigers to get up to play each other, but at times it has been hard for the Tigers to get up to play other teams especially ones they expect to beat such as HF. Remember Coach Sigler was the coach of one of the best if not the best Tiger team who lost in the first round to a team they should have beaten so he definately wants to fix the focus issue. Another point, HF has a big man that gave the Tigers fits.  He is taller and longer than Persohn and a better shot blocker.  The Tigers may want to play someone who has a big man like that to work on some things.  Yet another,  the Tigers know HJ's style of play and may want to play someone with a style they haven't seen in a while to prepare for things they may face down the road.  Sure there aren't a lot of teams that either ould face that are better than what they could face in each other but I really don't see much benefit in it at this point. The Tigers have already proven they can beat the Hawks, they don't need to prove to themselves that they can.  I will have no problem if it comes down to Coach Sigler conceding the top seed to the Hawks.  And for you Hawk fans may question it.  That question can be answered the same way questions about your "weak" schedule were answered.  Who knows how best to prepare the Tigers for the playoffs?  ....the Tiger coaches not the fans.
I agree with you that Mr. Sigler is best qualified to decide what is most beneficial to Silsbee as far as preparing for the playoffs.  I just believe that both of those teams are a level above everyone else regardless of who beat who in the head to head series.(obviously it doesnt mean I am right)  If you are a believer that Silsbees tough schedule is what got them where they are, I believe that playing HJ again is the one way to perpetuate that theory because unless you find someone good nearby in a higher classification for a warm up game, I dont think you will find better competition.  Besides, Badsanta said it was Hj who would likely concede.
 13. Better try harder. Anybody with an IQ of 85 knows what the Hamlet comment implied.

This threads intention was to bring that out.
Could have fooled me.  I was thinking there was another poster who questioned the intent/motive of PoppaBear.  It was obviously not loud and obviously not a protest.
Wow, really? Here was my first entrance in to the thread:
As most questions about general propositions like this here are prompted by specific events, I am curious as to what recent specific event prompted this question about a general proposition.
Which was met by this:
I see nothing wrong with the question regardless of what prompted the author to pose it.  The problem would occur if said author pointed a finger at a specific situation.  That would cause problems here.  Whether a specific situation prompted his question or if he really just wanted to know others opinion, I believe he handled it properly by NOT mentioning any incident that might have been involved. From my point of view, this question is no different than the one asking for opinions on covering your heart when playing the national anthem.
and this:
It just seems a little odd that someone who oversees the board in an effort to maintain peace would, ostensibly, solicit a comment that likely would be inflammatory.
and this:
Why were you not concerned about the National Anthem question being a result of a specific incident?  Could that not also have been prompted by a specific incident?  I don't have any Hamlet eloquence to offer but I do remember an old saying that said " Why make a mountain out of a molehill".  It's apparent that you know of an incident which you "believe" is what is behind the question.  If that is the case, is the question he posed any less "innocent" than yours requesting more specifics?  If he, as you believe "knows something he isnt revealing" and you, as I believe" think you know of a specific incident", would it not be better to avoid the acrimony?
and this:
I can't disagree with that.  That's one of many reasons why I would never qualify for a "managerial position" here.  But I still don't understand why someone who is charged with the responsibility of preventing acrimony or confrontation would be encouraging it in a less than veiled manner.
Yeah, you did protest too loudly.
My comments were obviously a protest of the protest.  I thought you were wrong making the subtle inference and the original author confirmed my suspicion.  And your "evidence" conveniently omits each response you made to each comment I made.  Frame it as you wish- you and I BOTH know how this came about and you simply made an erroneous assumption to which I took exception.  I guess it takes a loud protestor to know a loud protestor.
 15.
Silsbee should play Ozen, Nederland, or Central. Last years Kountze game wasn't a warm up but a practice!
And what is it that those teams offer, from a preparation standpoint, that HJ does not? (particularly since HJ beat two of the three)
We are very young Stevie. The Indians had a very difficult predistrict schedule but have become a better team with every passing game. We are holding down the 2 spot currently and at full strength will have a legitment shot a win or two in the playoffs.
Not surprised at that.  They seem to be a contender every year.  It just seemed as though there were more losses early than I would have expected.

 21. I want you to tell me honestly, (if you can) that Ozen has the same calibre of talent that they had in the Perkins years and the only difficulty is the man at the helm.  At the same time, explain to me why Mack Brown is not achieving what he used to achieve.
