  1. Another 3 and out for Ozen. Ned with the ball at their own 41. Neds last drive went 92 yards.
  2. Two touchdowns by Grogan in the third. 21-7 Nederland. A little over 3 minutes left in the third.
  3. The latest track looks encouraging! Keep praying!
  4. I heard that the NCAA outlawed this offense, and the UIL is following suit this year.
  5. Personally, I feel that kids should be encouraged to play as many sports as they want. This is how schools develop successful athletic programs. In this case, you would think a coach would be thrilled that one of his players is staying in great shape. On the other hand, what is he currently missing concerning football? Two-a-days have not started yet.
  6. He was one of Silsbee's best players last year too, he plays club in Houston, did he just have an off year or something? Because I remember playing against him last year, and he was pretty dang good... When a team's whole starting lineup makes it, there's not much room for the teams at the lower end of the district. I'm not trying to take anything away from lumberton, as they were certainly the best team in the district. That's just a bit extreme to me. 51 players honored, which represents half the starters in the district (absurd), and 29 of those from 3 teams (more absurd). If you're going to give out that many awards, you need to find a way to represent the bottom half of district as well. I'd much prefer to see the MVPs, 11 on 1st team, 11 on second team. Then the absence of players from the lower teams wouldn't look so offensive. I can understand the way you feel; however, you talk about it being absurd to have 51 named, but do the other teams you talk about have players better than those 51? I will say I watched every team in the district muliple times, and the bench and quite a few JV players on the top three teams were better than most of the starters on the lower tier teams. Not only that, but a few of the lower teir teams were beaten by JV teams. I agree with you. The key word in your statement is "most". As bad as those lower teams are, there are a few players on them that would not be stretches to put on the 2nd team (Deavers, for example), even if it means Lumberton's 11th best player only gets honorable mention (or LCM or Nederland's 9th best). My point, basically, is this. If you're going to dilute the honor by putting 51 players on the team , then you need make sure the lower teams are better represented, at least on the 2nd team. If each all district team had been only 11 players, I wouldn't say a word if I didn't see an HJ, Silsbee, or WOS player on the list. As it is, if the district is going to go out of it's way to pat as many kids on the back as it can, it should honor some of the kids who might have succeeded in other squads, but were stuck on bad teams. I agree with you to an extent if the setup was different. As far as the kid from Silsbee is concerned, I too feel like he should have been nominated. The fact he wasn't falls on the coach.

  8. Does it really matter at this point? All teams played the same schedule, and it ended up Lumberton, Nederland, and LC-M. All three teams had a nice season.
  9. With all do respect to all teams, if the UIL did align the districts how you would like them emac, could you pick four deserving playoff teams from a district that would include Jasper, Livingston, HJ, Silsbee, Ozen, and WO-S?
  10. First of all I want to say congrats to Vidor for playing a hard-fought, classy game. Also, the AR did an excellent job of cummunicating with head official to nullify the PK call. You don't see that often in HS soccer. Both players were making a play on the ball, and it was a clean play. You don't award a PK every time someone falls down in the box. What merits this response?
  11. Silsbee did have eleven but no subs.
  12. After Friday, February 8th Lumberton-21 Nederland-16 Vidor-16 LC-M-16 PN-G-15 Central-11 Silsbee-6 Ozen-6 HJ-1 WO-S-0 Big Games Left In First Half 12-Feb Lumberton @ LCM PNG @ Vidor 15-Feb Central @ Lumberton PNG @ Nederland
  13. I know the US has better options in the back than Corrales and Mohr. They did not play well. Corrales was not playing the ball well out of the back, and Mohr gave up two goals off set plays. The central midfield of Bradley and Clark did not mesh well together. He should have made a change earlier. Donovan disappeared again for a large stretch in the game. What a shocker! On a positive note, Altidore looks like a nice, young player.
  14. Dayton has Lum and Ozen. Ned has Vidor and Central. It's gonna be tough for Ned to make up ground.
  15. No one has a firm hold on a playoff spot. We are not even half way through district.
  16. Don't forget that football and soccer districts are different.
  17. Their keeper actually made quite a few nice saves.
  18. Maybe you should focus a little more on english.
  19. Micah Mosley @ UNT and look for Ryan Butler to walk on there next year.
  20. If I remember correctly, you cannot transfer for athletic purposes. I also believe that is that is found to be true, then that player has to sit out a year. Someone help me out on this. Doesn't the AD have to sign-off on it?
  21. This bond issue is not about Neumann. It's about the furture of our school district and community. I am a father of two young children and see on a daily basis the state our schools are in.
  22. Awww, come on now Westend1. The last seires the Brook played Nederland, they split!
  23. If the only reason for them going to school is to play sports, then they need to get their priorities straight. Lets say these kids have potential to go professional. The fact remains that most professional athletes need something to fall back on once their playing careers are over. How many good paying jobs are there for uneducated adults?
  24. I love it when you predict Nederland to fall on their face or talk about how terrible they are. It has equated to some nice wins this season! ;D
  25. See, this is where you contradict yourself. Ozen had Ben Wells and Memorial had Robert Joseph. How far did they take those teams? I'm not dogging those players because they were very good; however, an expert like yourself should know that teams scheme around their oppositions best players. BTY, that D-1 prospect you are talking about scored a defensive TD tonight.
