Surely you are not suggesting that a coach knows more than the players?  Also, using the coin flip theory, there is also no reason to shy away from a three just because you have missed three, right?
If I missed 3 3-pointers, I would be looking for a different way to contribute to the team effort.  I've seen gunslingers continue to throw them up until they hit, and personally I disagree with that.
 2.
I know- and because of the reliability of that- I plan on using my "connections" to tell Devante and Ziori that if they hit 3 in a row, dont worry about running the offense, just shoot it when you get it because we already know what the results will be.
Ha!  IMO, you certainly don't shy away from a 3 simply because you've hit 3 in a row.  I don't know of a single sharp-shooter in the NBA that would even consider that option!  Nor do I know of a single coach that would encourage that.
 3.
The good news: ! Our district will have two teams in the regional tourney and the Hawks won a less than stellar game with some very good free throw shooting toward the end of the game The bad news: 1. the coin flip theory of faninthestands worked ( although I was  somewhat correct in voicing my concern about the game  2.  I have to pay Soulja $20 for the Ozen- Central game and I have to pay Dicky V $100 for the Ozen game. 3.  The dunk-o-meter never moved tonite  Just remember our agreement Soulja, you are going to collect both bets so I dont have to face Dicky
Not only did the coin flip theory work, but the "continuing to hit 3's after you've nailed several theory " seemed to work, as well (much to my almost chagrin!).
 4.
That's got to be a scary thought. Stopping one just leads to another going off!!!
Absolutely!  And Bosha didn't do it simply at the free throw line.  He made a couple of late shots to keep HJ up.
 5.
Peaking at the right time.. good coaching
You're also right.  Good players will get you there, sometimes!  Good coaches will keep getting you back to there.  After HJ won state, they went through 4 consecutive "rebuilding years" and yet they kept going to Regionals and even back to state once.
 6. It's also breaks!  Bad refereeing, bad matchups, untimely mistakes, kids getting injured or sick, and as others have mentioned, peaking at the right time. Take Kountze!  Those guys found the right time to peak.  I think the same goes for Ozen. When you consider Matchups, Silsbee probably would have gone further last year if they would have been in the 2nd place bracket (and not run into Sealy).
 7. LaVega is just another team.  We can beat them.  They can beat us. But you know what they are saying?  Hardin Jefferson has been in Regionals 6 years running!  Twice in that run they went on to state, and once they won it.  These guys are good!!!!  The only team that has beat them this year (on a lucky shot at that!!!! Just kidding Silsbee fans) is also in Huntsville, so these guys are the real deal. So don't let any of their number 1 mystique get to you.  HJ will come to play on Friday!
 8. a special props goes out to the rest of the team, starting with our good young Mr. Bosha, for proving that Hardin Jefferson is NOT a one-trick pony!  The mark of a champion is that, even when your stud is not producing what he normally does, others step up to the plate!!!! 27 points!!!!  And Johnson, too!
 9.
Zebras took Shawn out of the game, and we still won-- at the free throw line!  Great win, Hawks!
To all others at the game, is that your opinion as well?  Were there several bad calls on Sean or were they legitimate?  I gotta admit, I was a little scared when he got his 4th. Great heart, Hawks!!!!
 10. It's funny, as well as the 3 4-A teams did in the play-offs this year (with Ozen still playing... Go Panthers!), I believe next year, they are all going to go even farther!!!!  At least Dickie V won't be pointing Yates in the distance, since they will be 3A. Rats, Dickie will be on the HJ and Silsbee boards simply repeating what he wrote this year to you guys!!! Pray for us!
 11.
HJ 25-34 from line
How about in the last quarter?  I think in the last 4 minutes they were like 13-16 or so.
 12. I heard Silsbee is darn good!  ;)  Tigers win a squeaker.
 13. Exactly.  There ain't no pretenders left.
 14.

Did dawson/jones go OT?
Yes, and they are going to double OT tied at 91
Which means they will be mentally dead for Friday!  Good Luck Ozen!
 15. Incredible!!!! Who am I kidding?  That's almost par for the course!!! Congratulations to all three! Maybe next year, the mighty Lumberton Raiders will join us to make it a 4 of a kind!  ;)
 16.
Waco La Vega  :o
Waco LaVega will find out what happens when you mess with a Hawk Friday night!  A lot of people are going to be surprised! Take it to 'em, Hawks!
 17. I've got to hear what the free throw numbers were, especially in the 4th. HJ held on to this game at the free throw line!  Way to go Hawks!

I see Nederland fans walking out in the 4th qtr as predicted.
Bright side is they do not have far to drive.
You didn't have far to drive to watch your team play, did ya?
Wow! He heard you the first time!
 19.

I like HJ in this contest based on what I saw last fri. night. One thing that puzzles me with regards to HJ is how they can be so good considering how bad they are from the foul line. It will be harder to put away good teams if they don't improve in this area in a hurry. You can forget about them winning a close game in the later rounds if they continue to shoot their free throws so poorly. I know it was just one game but based on the one game I saw, Johnson is the key for HJ. Everyone knows about Prudhomme is the best player on that team but Johnson is the "Robin" to Prudhomme's "Batman". IMO
HJ needs to improve free throws?  Where in the world do you get that from? No, actually, you are preaching to the choir, Indian!  This has been their Achilles Heel for years.  Sutherland has them practicing free throws all the time, but for some reason, that is still a problem.  It is sporatic, though.  First Silsbee game, they shot 35% from the line.  2nd game, HJ made like 28 of their last 30! As for your whole analysis, you are rather spot-on.
Agreed.
Indian is fixing to be proven right or wrong.  HJ is tied at 52 and then hit 4 straight free throws with 3 minutes left.
Indian, I am very happy to say that you are wrong....... at least for tonight. HJ was extremely clutch at the free throw line in the 4th, when they were clinging to their slim lead.
 20. Do you REALLY need an update? I'll give you and update.  Lavega is killing them!
