I think Dayton wins this one and here is why. Central is hot/cold and they only play up to the level of their opponants' date=',, usually. They were up for the Nederland game wisely expecting a battle royale only to find a weak porous defense at that time and so they blew them/us out. Everyone else they EXPECTED to beat and they played just good enough to win.. You cannot play "flip the switch" against truly balanced and good solid contender, of which they have yet to meet. Dayton has been mentally prepared, they have been taught well to stay emotionally hard and the pound on teams unmercifully. Central is going to try to flip the switch and it is not going to work. Dayton wins easy walking away, Dayton by 17 points minumum.
The only way Central wins is if Daytons key players are injured or weather get in the way. On a dry field its a sure thing.
That being said, nobody in 22-4A gets to the Region 3 final game this year. [b']Might get past round 1 but after that its over. None of these teams are that good this year, they are just better than the relative talent in the district.
I don't think that is necessarily true. Dayton is good enough to get 3 rounds.

It's all in fun I'm not very good at talking noise. Good luck to ya'll too. Can't wait to see the outcome and I'm anxious to see that QB. Hope everyone is injury free!!

That's all I wanted to know, every time we win, the district is down. I didn't think they were lumping you guys in there with them. never ??? that is incorrect. maybe not 10 out of 10 though

I have been quiet all week but know it is time. My Jags (though I hate it) get bored (no disrespect to any teams) playing and seem to let the games get close for fun... ie' date=' 28...0 at Nederland, 28...0 at LCM, 21...7 at Vidor, Lumbertonat home 17...0. Notice all these road games we jump out big. [b']Against Dayton they won't get bored, they will play four quarters and they dominate. Win by 14 and show that 22-4a still has some pride. Daytons from a district we walk through in the bi-district every year and I hate they came in on a down year for this district. Dayton I know you guys have a great team but here come those Jags... J....A....G U.A.R.S. as I sing the hype song
dominate...
One question...if we beat you, does that mean you're in a down year also?? I wanna know now just in case.
-
My team totally upset me with all the dropped balls... It was a perfect time to show that the Jags can compete with Dayton and they blew it!!! I still think Dayton came in lucky and caught our district in a down year. LCM or the Jags upset them... mark my word!
One down...

I was wondering about that...keep up posted Jags

OK earlier I said Central wins this one... I do like Daytons stats and their athleticism.. For some reason' date=' I have this gut instinct telling me that they will make some costly mistakes and turn the ball over too many times... Dont get me wrong, I dont have any problem with Dayton winning, to be honest with you, I really dont care either way??? I just have this feeling that they will have one of those game where nothing goes right..[/quote']
Dayton has had some halves of football like that this year. Our coaches and players have always been very prepared though and I think this week will be no different. Go Broncos!

salter18' date='
if you are a player, then you are putting a huge bullseye on your chest. i know a lot of the area players read this board and you should really tone it down a notch.. if you really are #18, then i hope our bookends #44 and #72 meet you everytime you touch the ball.. you would probably be at a loss for words.[/quote']
I seriously hope that is not really Salter. Their leading rusher had like 52 yards against Dayton and it wasn't him. I hope that is somebody posing as #18. I have a feeling Nederland is getting it going, and you'll probably get shut down again. Not talking smack...just stating the facts.

Man I hate to say it' date=' but that Dejohn kid is putting up the numbers..
People from Ned. is talking about Moshier and he really didnt impress me when we played them...We still have to play Png,Ozen and Lcm..I will make my opinion at the end of the year..but Dejohn from l-town is putting up the stats..And they[b'] have played Central and Dayton..
Checked Dejohn's stat's against Dayton. 10-18 for 72 yds.
at least he's accurate...
-
not that it matters. We just all need to represent this area well in the playoffs and raise the level of play in this part of the state.
-
If you pull an average rank of the teams in district...22-4A would come out ahead.
22-4A - AVG. 21.1
21-4A - AVG. 25.6
-
I think everyone is overlooking the fact that Central can match Dayton athlete for athlete. Dayton has onlt played one team so far that can match them athlete for athlete and they got stung 26-9.. It should be a great ball game' date=' these two teams are the class of the district hands down, but count me as one of the 10% that thinks Central will take a close one at home.[/quote']
Friendswood matched up pretty well...
-
we dont worry about that cause we can beat u any time
OK!!!
101 yds of total offense!! 4 first downs (1 on a penalty)
-
Dayton - overall - is better than Central. Nederland had better wet the field bigtime that week.
That is a good idea. But...their playing in Dayton.
-
Good...drive safe!!
-
Thanks Crush!! You gonna go to the game tonight??
-
I think Maverick is from Lumberton...maybe...Anyway, Dayton is definitely not counting our eggs before they hatch. One game at a time.
-
Can't wait til 7:30!!! LCM be safe driving over...should be good weather.
-
We should get some sunlight and no rain on friday. the field drains well and that pellet stuff in the turf dries pretty quick...so...I don't think it will be a factor. Either way...the conditions are the same for both teams. If Dayton is slowed down, won't LCM be slower also???? :?:
-
The thing is' date=' although Dayton is good I dont see where they are all that good.[/quote']
I understand what you are saying...the offensive numbers are not that high...no one rushes for 250 yards on a consistent basis...we don't break a ton of long plays. But...we do win the field position game by way of good kicking, 3 and outs on defense, or good punt/kick returns. For instance, dayton took over once on the 26 and once on the 19 yard line against Vidor, it's tough to rack up yardage like that...our strong secondary shuts down most teams big plays. I give a lot of respect to LCM as do our coaches and players. We have a lot of weapons though, it will be tough for LCM to hold Dayton down.

duely noted

Dayton's definitely got their work cut out for them. We have the 4 toughest teams (IMO) left to play and definitely can't look ahead at all. All of these games are gonna be a battle. Coach Stewart and his staff always prepare well though. This is gonna be fun to watch.

Dugat is probably averaging about 12-15 carries per game also. Thankfully there are several other role players and the D creates turnovers and points, so Dugat doesn't have to carry the entire load and teams can't key on one guy.
