And thats exactly what im talking about, here is the 22-4A district champion and they gave up almost as many points as they scored...
Championships are won with great defenses not offenses
[/quote/]
points allowed means fewest points allowed. We scored way more than we gave up.
In fact...I think it was our offense as much or more than our D that got us knocked out of the playoffs.
Gave up about 10.5 a game and scored 31 a game

Ok. Just goin' by the numbers.
-
If they run FAT 4.2 then it is legit. Otherwise I would be skeptical.
I agree. Hand timing has to be adjusted by a significant amount to be accepted in track meets or otherwise. I seriously doubt that there are several High schoolers in the 4.2 range. No one was under 4.3 at the NFL combine last yr. Chad Jackson was the fastest offensive player with a 4.32. here's the link to the offensive players.

Jags gotta pay the Broncos back in Dayton next year. I believe our QB will make plays and our RB Hall will be a handful. Defense will be ready.
Who is ya'lls QB next yr??? Was he JV or varsity last year? What position?
-
Nothing wrong with Juco or any of the lower divisions. Dayton has a kid that was drafted by the Padres 43rd rd as a senior, 32nd rd as a freshman in college and is in his second season of JUCO ball (he's no dummy) and has signed on with Rice University if he doesn't sign with an MLB team in the next draft.

Didn't even bother to look at a map...I just put what I read and what the Houston Chronicle had quoted from Erwin himself. I just took it as a fact, being that it was reported as Erwin's words.
-
I read that Erwin accepted FM Marcus because it was an hour away from his hometown of Hillsboro where he and his wife's parents both live. Wanted the kids close to the grandparents. Marcus made it to the state finals a couple of times in the 90's. It's not SLC but I would bet there is some talent and community support.

I'm sure it's just the lack of exposure and competition against large schools even though I'm sure he plays AAU. For a 2A player stuck out in the boonies by some peoples' standards, I think that it is a great accomplishment to just make the list.

You need to reread my post....I believe you misunderstood...I never said they would get blown out. In fact, I said the opposite.
When you have the rank Ozen has...you deserve some credit. Read all of my past posts. I've never put down a dayton team. Why would I do that. I graduated, played sports and teach in DAYTON and am just about as big a fan as they have. Chill out and reread.
-
I don't think it will be a blow out, but I'm sure Ozen isn't ranked where they are for nothing. I just hope we compete well. It will only make us better. No predictions here.
-
hopefully we can challenge them for a while. I'm pretty sure they'll be too much though. Go Broncos!!

Dumb!!! I have heard of the thailand thing and it's a game that KIDS play. Why he would think it's alright to be on that level is beyond me.
-
that was just a bad game played by hj if there was a rematch hj would win for sure
So on one thread you're baggin' on their best player and on this thread you're talking them up. Which is it??? :-\ : :-\
-
St. Thomas is arguably the best team in Houston and would beat any team in SE Texas.
If that's the case...HJ played them close. Not too bad IMO
-
I've seen that before, that's not fair some people get all the talent. Michael Vick and Aaron Brooks are also from Newport News, VA.
-
Copperas cove plays alamo heights for the D1 state championship this weekend. If LM wins, they play WACO or FRENSHIP
-
J. Granger and B. Ramsey look MEAN!!!
-
Went to this game. IMO Texas City had control the entire game. Brenham never quit but it never looked like TC was truly threatened.
-
Texas City does have a lot of speed although I haven't seen LaMarque play yet. I did go to the Brenham/TC game and no matter what anyone says, TC flat out beat them. Brenham couldn't stop them. Brenham's fans were even saying that Brenham was a little overrated but Texas City was dominant over a highly ranked team. All that said, given TC and LaMarque's history, I'll bet Lamarque has TC's #. I hope not though.

Dayton - Quesstamations
23 Seniors
11 Starters? I think.
Those numbers sound right to me. Hard to tell how many starters though as much as our O-line rotated.
-
Just from what I've heard lately I think UTEP is a strong contender. I had heard talk of A&M but that was last year and I don't know how strong a possibility that is anymore. None of this is based on fact, just word of mouth.

Caney Creek is 3 rounds deep in playoffs and WOS' date=' that doesn't sound to average to me.[/quote']
Look who Caney Creek drew in the 2nd round though. Houston Furr??? come on. Average is a pretty fair statement. NOT wos....just pre-district as a whole.
Caney Creek
WOS
Houston Kashmere

All the sudden you're mad at the football team??? I'll be the first one to tell you, football wouldn't be the same without the band. Even if your director did select a strange show this year. And I've paid plenty of dues at band competitions. And no, I don't have a child in it. We were going nuts last night after what ya'll did.
Offense better than Defense in SE TX?

definitely...but even still you are right. Watching defenses like La Marque etc. this area at this point is not up there with the elites. Once again though, I am glad we are in this district now.
