1. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone ,.... Say a prayer for our servicemen and women as well as their families
 2.
BH's RB???!!!!  Really???!!!  You can't be serious. W/o the sneaky option, none of BH's RB's pose a threat.  Their offense is like running a trick play each down. It makes even marginal backs look good. Just look at Vidor.  If it were not for deception, that team isn't running on anyone.
This has nothing to do with SC vs Georgetown but........this is about the stupidest quote I have ever read. Is a quarterback only good if he drops back and passes on a 5 step drop? Play action would be deceptive and that makes even marginal QB's look good. Deception and dealing with it are part of the game........heck, we ought to throw any stats for a running back that played in the wishbone out of the books.........he isn't any good.....it was smoke and mirrors. Reminds me of obama's "you didn't build that" flub
 3.
Unless you lived through his era..i don't think you would realize just HOW dominate Earl was. If anyone could have gone from HS to pros he would have been the one. Quiet and unassuming and physically he was a beast.
I agree dragon........I am not saying he could not have, I just think any high school kids body is not ready for that kind of beating. High School to college is a huge jump.......the pros is a plane ride
 4. Amazing how football and basketball at UT are parallel right now........supposed great recruiting classes but no evidence of it during games
Back when  Maurice Clarrett challenged the 3 year out of high school rule and won, opening the door for USC WR Mike Williams in 2004 before it was overturned. I remember hearing that Adrian Peterson (a HS senior at the time) was pretty set on entering the draft out of high school before all that got flip flopped. He was a projected Top 10 NFL pick if he entered the draft. After 1900 yards rushing his freshman season at OU, (and all his success since then) he proved that would not have been a mistake. I am a big supporter of the rule that you must wait until 3 years after your graduating class. I hate what it has done to college basketball with one and done players, and even worse when you could go straight out of high school. The NBA game has been affected by this as well.
I think the NCAA needs to change their stance on Basketball players........I think they should have to stay in school 2 years once they sign with a school
I think once you go to college you should have to stay three years. Your hear the stories all the time about basketball players going to class their fall semester and not showing up for the spring and entering the draft that summer. I think that kind of makes a sham out of the student-athlete idea. Still think you should be able to come straight out of high school and go to the NBA though. There aren't many kids who have gone that route and failed, might not have been the superstars they were projected to be but not failures. NFL rules on prep players are fine I think.
I agree cougar.......you can still go pro out of high school but once you go to college there needs to be rules on how long you have to stay.....2, 3 years The 30 for 30 on Dupree was, to me, the best. The kid was an amazing athlete. His problem, as with alot of stud athletes, is who they surround themselves with. No one had Marcus's best interest in mind, everyone had an ulterior motive. I cannot wait for that documentary on Earl to come out. And I agree with you that there will not be another like him in my lifetime.
 6. You are right oldbuc........the kids are in great shape and know how to tackle in the open field. Maybe Mack Brown should look to 6 man for some db's

 8. Well, being stuck up here in the panhandle for a little while I went Friday to catch a 1st round playoff game in 6 man. It is a different and interesting game. This is a game where the team with the overall best athletes will win. I think one team had 18 players total and the other had 11 or 12 but I am willing to bet the starting 6 never came off the field unless someone was hurt. I think it is best characterized as an organized sandlot game. Those kids couldn't have had enough energy to party after the game......heck, I was tired just watching them
 9. I cannot view the link.....at work. I am Earl's biggest fan and I think he was a man among boys.....that said, I do not think any kid is physically ready for the pros at 18. He was a beast tho
 10. Heck, doesn't dang near everybody make the playoffs?
 11.
BH will beat Elgin. I dont know what happened to the Cubbies but due to recent history i cant say im totally shocked by their outcome.
Dang, we are doomed now. Buddy is like Corso when he picks your team......LOL

Most games are in the Amarillo area so maybe Saturday I will catch one. I did see a few deer this morning but they were like 3 counties over.........dang it is flat and no trees here
enjoy it! cleaner air.  ;)
It is cleaner for sure Buddy......finally getting used to the zero humidity. I will be reporting from Wellington, Texas tonight folks. Follett vs. Groom will be kicking off at 7:30pm. It will be low 50's to upper 40's and clear skies for kickoff. I have not come across a prediction thread on this game yet but I will report the scores because I know there is much anticipation in this marquee 6-man match-up

I hope this doesn't make him want to lay off football next year and concentrate on baseball :(
If I were his parents I would ask him not to play. Lots of time recruiters ask you not to play other sports besides like track or powerlifting, non-impact sports. If he really did commit to UT for baseball then he's elite good. Most time you only have about 10-15 full scholarship players on a baseball team and most of those are pitchers. The other kids went to A&M because UT and Guirrido didn't offer, those programs are on two different levels. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Denny plays second so that means he could have just as well gotten drafted and went to the minors depending on the signing bonus offered. No way I would let him risk a torn acl for something that doesn't matter after next year.
I have no data currently but I would be surprised if a college team had that many full scholarship baseball players.......not saying you are wrong, it is just hard to believe
 15.
I believe that's where his dad went and was a stud. I'm sure they will have a picture up on the school web site signing soon. Good for him.
Yes he did.....his dad was an all american 3rd baseman for the 1983 Nat Champs I believe Kaleb played 3rd last year I believe
 16. Yep.....we wouldn't want to say something that may ruin little johnny's psyche and ruin his pro chances before the poor baby even graduates high school.
 17.

Found out BH Eagle stadium holds close to 9,500.  Expanded last year after the season.  Was told the last couple of games at the stadium last year they put the band on the track.  So i guess that would have meant the last 2 district games last year.    Did some checking into Texas Bob site and see that the largest staduim in 19-4a is Turner followed by BH.  Crosby has the smallest stadium seating wise in the district.
Turner is better suited for a playoff game. BH and Crosby have very small visitor stands no matter what the seating capicity.
Keeps the riff-raff out......lol
 18.
This thread is HILARIOUS!!!  I LOVE IT.  From what I've seen BH fans are some cry babies.  I love the "we didn't lose as bad as your team did" defense.
Whether it is one point or 100.......a loss is a loss.......
 19. In the voice of the most interesting man in the world..... We don't often get donkey stomped for the district championship But when we do, we still obsess over BH That said, time to sweep 20 4A Mr. Garrity, I am in Amarillo for 8 days.....what is a good 1st round game to see up here?
 20. Honchos team just got beat like a rented mule in their stadium and you're worried about BH excuses.......ya better worry about your next game
I agree with this too. First round games between 19 and 20-4a don't have any neutral sights. The Butch is about 75 miles from most 19-4a schools and Lamar is even further. I think the best spectator/most neutral venues are: 1. Memorial Stadium (Pasadena) 16k + 2. Stallworth Stadium (Baytown) 16k + 3. GPISD Stadium (North Shore) 10k + 4. Berry Center (Cypress) 10k + 5. Memorial Stadium (Channelview) 8k + Turner Stadium (Humble) 10k + and the Berry Center are great venues to play the teams from the norther part of the region in.
I like Morrehead Stadium (Conroe) 8,500 and Woodforest Bank Stadium (Shenandoah) 9,600 also.
Woodforest is a nice stadium but dang, the stands seem a mile away from the field.....I went to watch Clear Brook play College Park and you needed binoculars to see the players
 22.
Does anyone consider Hardin as a possible venue?  Turf field but small visiting bleachers.  Maybe 1A or small 2A teams.
No
