Just wanted to send out prayers and thoughts from the Silsbee Community and High School to the Shadow Creek Families. Tragedy struck their football team and community Friday night with the sudden loss to one of their own. I know that Silsbee will be hosting Shadow Creek on Sept 30. so please keep them and their families in your hearts and minds while they grieve and begin the healing process. God Bless.

Havent heard this before at all... All Silsbee needed was a little humility. Those young men are learning with every practice and game. I guess everyone forgot that Silsbee wasn't stopping anyone defensively last season. Mind boggling. Keep it coming. They will keep showing up and there has been very few teams with their preseason schedule to date. The game against Silsbee will be beneficial, even for the almighty world beating Stangs.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings if we as a community leave this to the players. Love the enthusiasm but in no place to predict scoring. Preparation and execution.

Tyler took a long break after 1st qtr. Visibly frustrated. Credit to the young man for being humble enough to relax and I heard one senior giving the offense a dose for not doing their part and letting Tyler try to do it all. Adonis rotation was excellent and worked well because after half C took it to Jasper.

After we lost Carroll (SR Mike LB) early 2d qtr I was worried. Missed assignments have plagued our defense. Uribe and Sells came up big. Love that style of defense. We are used to way more big plays and this ground and pound is reminiscent of the veer days. Jones and Barnes ever get completely on the same page it could be damaging. Still would like to see Willie settle down a bit. Seems.... well I'll leave it for now. Big second half for C after calming down. Brooks did what he does best when a player starts spiraling. #TigerNation

Amazing second half effort on the defense side. Coach Allen gave them the one time after that long TD run. Lots of emotion coming from that conversation. Offense is potent. I know it doesnt show but man the missed opps and untimely penalties took 21 points off the board for SIlsbee tonight. Flat out wore the Jasper Defense out in the 3rd qtr. Come from behind win. A much needed win for player confidence. You could feel the tension leave the stadium. Congrats young men. Keep improving.

Both teams have less toes. Silsbee left points all over that field. Seriously, how many chop block penalties were called?!

Wow. What an implosion.

Just like that. Power running and a deep post to Barnes.

I figured they might have been cut blocked. Thats a theme tonight.

It's not the interior line. Secondary is not coming up to make tackle. Jasper running a basic run play and when the blocking is right it's over. 2 big plays. Period. That along with the strip and thats the score. Secondary assignments need big improvements. 2 Sophomores playing. I can't say the same for offense. No slants. No drags. No seams. Jasper has 9 in the box 90% of time. I'm confused but the penalties have killed drives. Again.

Drove by field. It looked great but it has rained everyday in Silsbee and is raining now @ 3:30. Look for a north/south game.

I have traveled the world and one thing is constant. Racism exists in several forms. It stays strong and prevalent because it is taught through ignorance. Teach your kids patience and understanding. Teach them by example, in everything you say and do, in private moments as well as public ones. Teach them about the history of the world and its ignorance when it comes to racism. You will not know all the answers. You are not supposed to. Speaking from experience, teach them about racism before the world gives its lessons. I would rather have this conversation at home, in your church, or on this forum. Lots of places in the world will not give you a second chance. Learn the lesson early before it costs you way more than your integrity and dignity.

I have seen several small personnel changes after each scrimmage and each game so far. These small changes have made huge dividends in efficiency compared to the previous week. Jones did not look comfortable at all in the PNG game. Against Newton, 100% improvement in my eyes as far as recognizing how much time he has to throw. That's film and coaching at its best. Still sorting out the receiving core it seems. No T. Lowe yet and other than B. Newton, nobody has stepped up. Maybe nobody agrees with me here but I felt Silsbee controlled most of this game but four plays would changed this game. 1) Int Non Call (hmm) 2) Dropped TD before half. 3) Dropped Slant (Nobody would have caught him) 4) 1st and Goal - No TD Newton took the ball and scored directly after three of the four. All of these were emotional let downs in my opinion. Led to a lack of focus and the resulting scores. Fixable. It will come. Newton did their job. Capitalized on opportunities.

I reserve judgement till I see the second layer develop. They are young behind Carroll and if they cant recognize their assignments then .... well it will be a long district schedule.

horse manure. Inside position and the ball. Wasnt the game though. I like what the defensive line did tonight. Cant remember the last time I saw SIlsbee with 5 Down lineman. Played well. McCain made his presence known and they made adjustments, after that Hageon and the D-Line pretty much controlled the run game. A few Big Plays that resulted in touchdowns but both were superb plays and one had a devastating block on a LB to free the RB. Hats off. Football as it should be. Forced Newton to throw and then the secondary layer of defense was torched. Too many missed assignments but I expect Coach Allen to address it. Linebacker education coming next. This offense is sneaky close to being .... what are the words? Clock eating machine. WAY BETTER on controlling game, just didnt finish drives. In my opinion, WR core needs to block better on perimeter to help free up Tyler, and run ALL routes. Meaning, sell it like you getting the ball everytime. No team can outplay 8 in the box if you cant throw and catch. Hats off to the RBs. Taking a beating. Disclaimer: I am no coach. I'll sleep on the rest.

Not all of SIlsbee. Got a question ask it. Post a serious or informative statement and you'll get the same back. Other than that, I usually avoid the baited statements. No sense in arguing with .... Quote the ones you are referring to and Im sure they will answer. Other than that, I let the coach call the game and watch the young men play.
