  1. Wood bats are allowed in HIgh School as long as they meet the specifications: "Each bat shall be: In diameter at thickest part: (wood) 2 3/4 inches or less In length: 36 inches or less In weight: A bat shall not weigh, numerically, more than three ounces less than the length of the bat."
  2. Is there a link to District Standings? IF not, how hard to create? Would be a great resource for this forum.
  3. Haven't seen HJ yet. Know about the game at HF but that is about it. Could be tough to get back in the district though if either lose.
  4. Could get ugly pretty quick. Dogs' in 5. Too much hitting after what Silsbee accomplished. District is shaping up pretty fast. If everyone keeps going strong then district could be decided in the last 2 weeks of season?? Very Interesting...... Silsbee @ Jasper Apr 20th Jasper @ Bridge City Apr 27th
  5. Appreciate the updates guys. Shift work makes it tough to attend the games. Tigers Rule!!
  6. Just wondering if there is anyone at this game? Moved it on me and working early tomorrow so I could not attend.
  7. Anybody at this game to give updates? ???
  8. No offense taken. Just thought it needed saying. Don't like the umpires then become one. They pay you for your service. Good or bad.
  9. Wouldn't hurt any part of the game. May save some kids from injuries but overall I do not think it would matter in the long run. I wouldn't bring it up, but I would support it if started.
  10. anyone here ever umpired a game? Just curious... Forgive me if I am curt or rude but I think it needs saying. I am sure there are not enough umpires to do all the games. Maybe some of the "excellent stand umpires" with their infinite knowledge of the rules and unquestionable judgement should become an umpire. The fact is that there are no sports officials who call perfect games and there are even less games that satisfy everyone. Especially parents. Most of the time you are 50% right or 50% wrong as an official. Ok, now that is has been said let the flood gates open.
  11. I was at the Jasper game. Reagan looked to be tiring around the end of the Fourth Inning. Orangefield has an OK team. May not win alot of games against the bigger schools in the district this year, but look for them to be in the middle of the standings and might very well upset someone down the line. Freshman Pitcher Jace was ok. With a little experience and conditioning and most of these guys won't want to face him. Will be an excellent left handed pitcher down the road. With that said, the Dogs' were an outstanding hitting team. Pitching was solid. Defense was lights out until the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings when they got a little lazy and committed a few errors. Do this in a game with something on the line and the Dogs' will be watching the playoffs on this site.
  12. Trinity 7 Buna 2 Great game. Buna hurt early and could not get by the great pitching and flawless infield play of Trinity.
  13. REMATCH TIME. THIS TIME NO HOME COURT ADVANTAGE FOR EITHER TEAM. BRING IT ON.
  14. Wanted to go and see this game but got out of work late. Great job Silsbee!! Tigers Rule!!! 8)
  15. Funny thing about baseball. I can't remember when ANY team didn't lose ANY games and NEVER lost one they shouldn't have. Give what is due. Great game Pirates. See ya next time. Tigers Rule!!!
  16. HJ played extrememly well. Turned the physical Tiger Defense against them. Can't win without making free throws and DEFINITELY can't win when you have a true gamer like Donohue. Amazing player, especially after getting his nose jammed like that. I Love the Tigers and they will be there waiting in the wind, but I give mad props to the Donohue kid for his attitude and composure during this physical game. See you in the playoffs. Tigers Rule!!
  17. Taken me three days to get over this game. First off, let me give a congratulations to Columbia for one heck of a game. Second, my hats off to the Tigers and their QB Harper. He put up a performance that he should never feel bad about. He left everything on the field. I enjoyed the year Tigers. See ya next season.
  18. True , True, Worry about tonight. Check that. Don't worry, just do it. Show up, put some hats on somebody and be the team you know is true. Hard hitting, ball runnin', big time footballin' winners!!!! (Starting to sound like kvillballa huh?) Football baby!!! Go Tigers!!!
  19. I have been watching this kid all year. One heck of an athlete. Good luck, Tigers. I'll be there.
  20. I hear he may not play nect week either. Nothing against our guys but you sure could tell the difference without him going up the middle. Harper didn't give it to the dive back too many times. Hope Rocky gets well. I know he has baseball to consider for his health. Go Tigers!!! Congrats McGallion, this probably is a load off his shoulders.
  21. Flannel probably going to Missouri from what I hear. But, he is also considering Arizona.
  22. I saw a different side of Silsbee tonight. They were EXPLOSIVE!!! Normally they eat up the clock and just wear down their opponent. They were put to the test by a determined defense and came up with some huge plays to stay ahead. Unbelievable plays for huge yardage and touchdowns!!! If they can keep this in their arsenal along with the ground chewing running game then Silsbee will be a force to reckon with. Focus now Tigers. You know you can win if you play mistake free ball. Focus and challenge yourself. Too many false starts tonight. Go tigers!!!
  23. First and foremost I MUST give mad props to them Wildcats!!! They had that misdirection going wild. Never knew who had the ball. That Byrd kid is the real deal. A tough runner with great vision. I would love to see them play further, hate to see them lose but I am glad them Tigers triumphed. Some of the most amazing plays I have ever seen in High School Football!! Congrats Tigers!!!!
