  1. You get 1 Karma point for taking that comment as well as you did. 8)
  2. Well, not to be cynical.... But the better team didn't make any errors. ;) Will be a horse race down the staightaway. This is one heck of a district.
  3. Was this in the 6th? I thought they won on a walk off HR?
  4. How does a call result in the ejection of 3 people? I am curious... what happened?
  5. I am glad I was finally here to watch a game. Parsons was lights out with that offspeed stuff, nasty curve, killer change up. I really enjoyed watching him pitch. Great stuff. Silsbee finally figured it out in the 5th inning and put a couple of hits together, that along with costly errors gave Silsbee the lead and Schooling never looked back. Jasper put some big hits together. Single, sac bunt then a double in the 4th. Home Run off of an 0-2 hanging curve for Hart in the 5th. Another single, bunt and then a double in the 6th. They really put them together. Unfortunately they also put the errors together. Schooling dialed it up after he got the lead. Looked like he was a little cautious the whole game until the 6th inning. I can't be sure but I think he struck out 3 batters over the last 2 innings. Hargrave behind the plate was nails. Firing pellets to get runners out. Lights Out. Another great game. Can't wait for round two.
  6. Come on.. No doubt Murphy had a game to remember, but so did Thomas. I believe this Thomas is a Junior, if I remember right. To put up those numbers against a district foe that you have never beaten in district play is well worth recognizing, Thomas has my vote for Player of the Week hands down. Not taking anything away from Murphy at all. Both of them played at the top last week. Give credit where it is due. Talk about wanting the cake and the ice cream. :
  7. According to MaxPreps, J. Dishon leads the 3A state rankings in Home Runs. Bombs Away!!! [Hidden Content]
  8. Nederland comes out on top here. Ozen needs to clean up their game. Nederland catches a break and gets out of the cellar. Dogs' 5 - Ozen 1 8)
  9. You never know.... But, I will still have to go with BC. Of course, as a Silsbee fan I am pulling for them Stangs'. BC 7 - 2
  10. Seems like I gave you you're props. Keep up the good work.
  11. My heart and wishes go to all the families and glad to hear some silver lining out of this trajedy. God Bless.
  12. OUCH!!! :-X Here's to a speedy recovery. Good luck.
  13. Jasper @ Silsbee Friday. Looks like I FINALLY get to watch my home team play. Can't wait. Heres hoping for a win and Second Place in district standings. Game is huge.
  14. It is definitely baseball season. Central showing true grit and determination with their play. I am glad to see good, young ball players from Central making a go of it and not being a "throw away" game for the rest of the district. Makes the other teams come ready to play all year and heats up the playoff race at the end of the season. Here is to good baseball Central. keep up the good work.
  15. Stomped is kinda extravagant. I seem to remember that Silsbee beat you pretty bad the first time around. I am gonna ask you a serious question? If there was no steal in the last seconds of the regional finals would Silsbee have won the State Title?
  16. Great job tigers. Looks like they are back on track. Quality wins. Even the loss to BC is something to keep building on. Don't look Back BC that is Silsbee and Jasper on your tail. Tigers Rule!!
  17. I was at this game. Amazing how errors can effect one team and not the other. I believe Central had more errors in the game, but Nederland just couldn't take advantage of them. Central just slowly chipped away at the lead. Had a big 7th inning and took the win.
  18. You beat me to the punch. Missed the whole point of my statement.
  19. Nothing is a "knee Jerk" reaction when it comes to the safety of our kids. We all know the standard that kids are getting bigger and stronger and starting to utilize their talents earlier in their careers. That leads to injuries whether it be from a bat or from poor conditioning and overuse. We have a large number of kids that come out of this area with "true" talent. The bat will not effect their skills. Only improve them. And who knows? It could even lead to a more generalized standard of talent and allow even more kids who may not get the "coaching" attention that the early talent gets. Baseball is a game of skill. I love the small ball atmosphere and just because the home run numbers will diminish "slightly" the game of baseball will still be exciting and great.
