[/quote] Wow!  I'm guessing Cinco is no slouch [/quote] They're pretty good every year.  The Round Rock tournament should be interesting, but if for some reason its not, Moody is coming to town for the Brenham alumni tourney March 11.  There wont be any love lost if we end up playing them, as both teams think they are rightfully the top team in Texas high school baseball history.  We dont get a 4A team till March 4, when we get Westbury for our first home game. (other than maybe in the knockout rounds of a tourney)  We get the #5 5A team, Southlake Carroll on Feb. 27.

Hey texasbob, why are we considered in the central texas region and not Houston area?  I'm just curious, because the chronicle list us as Houston area.

Correction*. Those were preseason rankings, were ranked #1. 

Texas commit Erich Weiss went 5 for 6 Saturday when Brenham scrimmaged Belton, with 3 hr's and 2 singles.  I would say that wasn't too bad of a game. 

So we're above Moody and Calallen on here, but in the state rankings Moody's 1, Calallen's is 2 and we're 3? If you like high school baseball, I reccomend making a trip to "the baseball capital of Texas".  Check out this years Brenham alumni tournament line up.... [Hidden Content]

[/quote] I love that quote....and it was definatly worth the drive.  An afternoon out of my time, 91 miles and a hour and a half in traffic was a small price to pay, to witness the look on the Brown family's faces when coach Flanigan introduced me and told them that I drove from Brenham to support them.  If you don't know this family, let me tell you that just meeting them was one of the most inspiring moments in my life.  It's amazing how greatful and high-spirited they are, considering all that they're facing.  As for that football that sold for $2000, all I can say is wow!  I was surprised when the bidding was at $1400, but when that gentleman stood up and yelled, "$2000".  I'm not sure where that guy is from, but he didn't even hesitate.  $2000, now that's some hate.  Hate, that not only will fuel 2 schools that are involved in a great rivalry, but will help a great family in hard times.  Sounds funny, but that's exactly what it did. 

Big success, I had a blast....I didn't know anybody, but coach Flanigan made me feel very welcome.  I have a whole different perception of Crosby now.  Thank you everybody!

I was informed that they have alot of help already, including football players, JROTC and others.  I think I'm still gonna make trip for support though.  So hopefully it's a good turnout and the whole area will be there supporting this family.

GCMPats, do you know if they need any help?  I'm willing to drive to Crosby and help with this, if they can use a volunteer for anything.  I don't have the money to make bids, but I do have the heart and desire to help in any way I can.

I went to high school with Andra Manson.  He was a freak in the HJ, just unreal.  He went to Texas and now competes for the US in the olypics.

Which 10 teams are in the kickoff classic this year, and who plays who?  I know Abilene vs Belton and I think PNG is in it.  If anbody can confirm this or knows the schedule and who plays on what day, i'd appreciate it.

(one of the best backs in the nation.). Longview had a stable of backs and both teams only lost by 7.  I saw first hand what Aledo's, Johnathan Gray is capable of and it's scary.  If Aledo's defense plays good, they have a good chance to end LT's winning streak. If not, LT will prolly win in a shoot out.  I can't wait for this football season.  As far as Tivy goes, I'm not sold on them.  I think they are way overrated other than Manziel.  If not for our soph. corner slipping on the first play, we could have beat them by 17 or more considering we took the victory formation at their 15.  Manziel is the real deal though.  I guess they were still a semi finalist though.  With Angleton, they have 2 things to always keep them in the game.  A. Quandre Diggs. B. Team speed. What I think hurts them, is their coaching.  For example, they were getting burned over and over on fade routes against us last year, after having a 21-0 half time lead.  Instead of changing their defense up, they kept playing man to man and leaving their corners on an island.  Eventually we came back and won, but if they would have went to a zone or got the safetys to help more in coverge, the game might have ended different.  To me that's poor coaching that hurt a really talented team.  I'm not trying to bash anybody, just giving my opinion.  Brenham's non-district schedule @ Huntsville. (they won 18-4A in 08' and finished second in 09' behind us) @ Lamar Consol.  (good 4A school)     Lamar. (prolly HISD's best 5A school)  

Starting the season at #3 in the state, the only 2 teams ranked higher are nationaly ranked.  Good thing is they will have to play each other before state and one will be eliminated.  We have pretty much the whole team returning from last years semifinalist team...including Chase Wellbrock, Texas commit Erich Weiss and Drake Roberts who commited to Arkansas as a freshman.  All 3 are all americans.  Region 3 should come to us or Nederland.  If that's the case, it should be a good series just like last year.  Remember games arnt won on paper though, they're won on the field.

[/quote] No line backer [/quote] Their getting another one of region 3's best line backers then.  In addition to him, they got Michael Walker, from Brenham.  He was the 18-4A defensive MVP.  Utah also got Terrell Reese, an all state selection.  They recruited him for safety, but I think he's a better receiver.
