[/quote] Blinn's not too bad.  Alot more successful too.  Last time I checked, they were winning national championships.  4 to be exact, with 2 of them being recent.  While Houston has talent and is D1, I honestly believe Blinn could give them a run for their money.  They didnt even win conference USA, which isn't exactly a powerhouse conference.

Rond Rock / Austin tournament Brenham- 1 Austin McNeil-0 We squeeked by with a RBI double in the 7th.  We play Belton at 4.

Another talented WR from region 3 that had a bright future, but is screwing it up.  What is it with WR's and getting in trouble?  First Brandon Collins and now A.J. Dugat.  Truly another sad story.

[/quote] I don't know, our coaches are really good but I don't know where these kids keep coming from.  Montgomery won't be easy.  They took us down to the wire and a holding call brought back a 78 yard td.  We won 14-7. They trailed Huntsville by 4, and had 4 downs to punch it in from the 2.  I'm surprised Dobbins couldn't get in.  All 3 losses were really close.  He would be nationally like Malcolm Brown and Jonathan Gray, if he wasn't 5'9" 160.  Their QB is the coach's son.  Look for alot of draws and the PA pass.  We'll either meet in round 2 or in the reginal final, if all goes right.  Unless y'all go D1.

I got Brenham, Montgomery, Stratford and Magnolia West.

Anybody care to take a stab at 17-4A for next year?  Top 4?

1.  Crosby- Good QB, will be ok if they can help him out.  They need to keep his jersey clean. 2.  Dayton- Good coaching and very consistant...will the young QB be able to guide them to reginal finals again? 3.  Baytown Lee- Transition to 4A won't be as easy as they think, but they should be ok to claim the 3 or 4 spot, but I don't see them getting further than round 2 at best. 4. GCM- Not sure about the fourth spot, but if I had to guess, GCM would be my pick.

[/quote] I don't know if I'd go that far.  More appearances than any other high school.  We've been to the state tourney 14 times, 3 of them being in the last decade.  You could add up all of Nederland's, LCM's and WOS's state appearances, and we've been more times in just the last 10 years.  Were a threat to win it all every year.  Second most state titles, with 6.  26 consecutive playoff appearances.  You tell me who has who's #.....  That resume speaks for itself. Tourney appearances in 86' 87' 88' & 89'.  They won 3 straight championships out of those 4 appearances   86' 87' 88' [/quote] I'm just saying that when Southeast Tx plays Brenham, we usually come out on top, no mystique. [/quote We returned 7 starters and the entire pitching staff and added a couple pitchers .... It don't really matter about the state rank ...out of site ...out of mind if ya know what I meen... Waltrip deserves their ranking.  They were the only team to shut us out last year. (2-0 in game 2 of the second round last year) Also Magnolia beat us twice last year.  We only had 6 losses last year and that's half of them. I think Nederland belongs in the rankings.  They gave us our fifth loss and of course our sixth was to Texas high.  You guys are right though, alot of these teams arnt worthy of their ranking.
