But I know Texas commit Quandre Diggs is gonna take this team past the 3rd rd this year
We'll see about that. Diggs is awesome, but him alone won't get you past the 2nd or 3rd round.  I do wanna play y'all again, because it's always fun to watch somebody with talent like Diggs.
 2.
Sure Abilene Has Great Talent, I Think The War Eagles Vs. Miramar, Plant, Or Even An Northwestern, Central Or Aquinas Would Be Great Matchups For Abilene. Just A Note Imagine FLA & TEX Combining As One State Power, Can You Say Overkill !
lol. It would be rediculas.
 3.

I'd like to see Dayton punch Angleton in the face at the beginning of the year.It will be fun to watch the chronicles 4-A darling get frustrated by a team (Dayton) that plays solid, disciplined defense.  I also want to see ol Ballpoint get mad and lay out Quandre Diggs when he tries to turn the corner.  (Ballpoint better be hitting the weights hard this offseason, somebody let me know how he is progressing. That kid could be really, really good)
:D lot of talk a bout a kid that ain't gonna be there next year. But don't worry diggs will be there next year. Should be a good game but Quandre Diggs getting laid out doesn't seem like it'll happen cuz it hasn't happened much the last 3 years cuz them cats r fast. But hopefully this is just a preview for a 3rd round playoff matchup. I would love the cats to beat Friendswood again. The cats have won 3 of the last 4 years
I was hoping they could come up with a very creative eligibility loophole for the kid.  (Thought he was a junior, maybe we can have AJ re-enroll since cougarland didn't work out) But i'd still like to watch someone put a lick on Diggs because I haven't seen it happen yet.  Also, is angleton going to get smart and stop trying to press at the line of scrimmage with their DB's?  That's what cost them the game against Brenham.
The blue print to beating Angleton- You won't stop Diggs, but stack the box to slow him down.  Force them to put it in the air.  On offense, wheel routes and screens work well.  That should free up your receceivers from the press.  Mix in a couple of fade routes and eventually you'll end up behind their DB's.  While they have had all offseason to correct their defense, when that strategy is run right, it's hard to stop.  They lost most of the track team they fielded in the backfield so Diggs has even more weight on his shoulders.

Brenham- Chase Wellbrock               Erich Weiss               Halden Maynard
Who would you say is your big gun? In a one game series title on the line who would start?
I would say the UT commit, Erich Weiss.  Chase Wellbrock has improved over the offseason though and makes for a dynamic #2.
 5. Brenham 14 Montgomery 0
 6. All 3 of these are good. Brenham- Chase Wellbrock               Erich Weiss               Halden Maynard
 7.

How's Nederland doing so far, record wise?
I think they are 6-4 or 7-4..something like that.
thanks
 8.
No disrespect but, to every successful QB, there's some dependable recievers. Our running game will be there. I'm not sure about our passing game because, i'm not sure about our recievers. Our young gunner really gave me a breath of fresh air when he came in against F-Wood. He showed flashes of success. I'm really thinking he'll be a good one with help from supporting cast.
Don't forget the big guys up front.  They don't get the credit they deserve.  They make the QB position doable.  Ask any successful QB, without their o-line they would be in trouble.
 9. How's Nederland doing so far, record wise?
 10. Doty- PNG.  He was prolly the most accurate QB we faced last year.  Us being focused on stopping their rushing game, gave him a chance to have a big game, and he did.
 11.
I Don't Think So. ;D, Plant & Miramar Would Both Beat Abilene In A Dogfight. Speed & Time Management From These Florida Schools Would Be Enough To Handle Abilene. I Also Think Basco Prep Would Take Out Abilene Very Well If They Would Meet.
Abilene has plenty of speed, plus Herschel Simms isn't affraid to lower his pads if the hole isn't there.  The sunshine state might just have to find that out the hard way.
 12. First on my list is Waller.  We played horrible last year and didn't take that game serious and got upset.  Chances of that happening again arn't very good.  Brenham by 21+ Lamar would be second on my list.  It should have been a home game for us last year, rain caused us to move it to Del Mar Saturday morning.  We ended up losing, and they scored at the end instead of taking a knee.  Nobody in Brenham has forgot about that. Stratford, because i'm ready to silence everybody that thinks they will win 17-4A just because they are dropping from 5A.  Aledo, because we wanna return the favor.
 13. Sorry  I was busy, so I couldn't get back to y'all sooner.
 14.
Congrats Cubs
Thanks...any idea how the other bracket looks?
 15. Brenham-14 Westbury-0 Brenham-9 San Marcos-5
 16. Final San Marcus 12 Texas City 5
 17. Game 2- Texas City 5             Lamar 2 Final
 18. Game 1 from Brenham- Lamar 13-0 over Westbury after 4.  They put up 10 in the first.  Westbury's starting pitcher looked really nervous and Lamar jumped all over him.  Not sure how the game in Montgomery is going.
 19. To be the best, you have to beat the best....untill somebody beats PNG in yalls district...they have to be the favorite.  Doesn't mean it can't be done though.
 20. Are those 24-4A teams desrerving of their rankings?  Out of the teams in the Brenham tourney, what's the best first round games to go watch Thursday and Friday?  Any suggestions?
Since D3zii seems to be under the weather (  :D :D ), I will quickly come in and say...  Ain't gonna happen.  We let you escape last year...   But all seriously, here are my picks. 1. Central - D. Heard will be offensive player of the year next year 2. PN-G - What Faircloth have done with the Indians last year was NOT a one hit wonder.  Just watch and see. 3. Nederland - If you want to win, you start Forney on offense, point blank. 4. Ozen - I don't know what was missing last year, but it sure in the heck wasn't athletes 5. Vidor - No question if they can move the ball...  Question will be on the defensive side of the ball... 6. LC-M - Crouch, this is not 3a ball here. 7. Livingston - No Quinton Jackson...  No Keke Johnson...  No playoffs. 8. Lumberton - No offense, but back to your rightful place.
Lack of a QB
If your QB isn't atleast average, you can usually kiss your playoff chances goodbye.  Occasionally one will get in, but they always make a quick exit.
 22. 2 out of the 3 teams joining our district were horrible last year.  Between the 2, they had one win.  Not to mention, their losses were usually by 30 or more.  I'm glad we get Stratford, but I was happier with our old district.  It just seemed more competitive... Thanks for the #'s, by the way.
 23.
I heard there were a couple today, but then heard they may have to be cancelled because of TAKS? Lumberton @ Crosby Not sure game time Sulphur @ PNG 4:30 I think Anyone know?????
I heard that there's no sports today, due to taks.
 24.
Brenham Congrats on getting the W! To further show my appreciation for you I will try to boost your economy by now getting off the computer and going to fix a very large bowl of BlueBell Ice Cream!  ;D :D
Lol, is it the PNG flavor that one of their fans said we "would have to make", after they beat us in football this year....oh, wait...they fell short on that.  Jk reccosdog is right, there's soccer and baseball left.  It's very possible we'll meet again, soon.
