1. I'm glad I found this site.  I've made some good friends on here.
2.
Yes, I know that there are post season accolades, recruiting and all-star games to come.  But hey, when the last competitive down of playoff football has been played, it is time to close the chapter.   Of course, congratulations to players, coaches, support staff, and communities all of those teams, whether public or private, who were able to navigate their way to their respective state championships.  It is a long and arduous journey and your perserverance and success should be marveled at by all.  However, the congratulations should not and do not stop there.   All of the young men from the communities that make up South East Texas who put a football uniform deserve them as well.  These young men, whether they played for the largest school in umbrella, Beaumont West Brook, or the smallest, Chester, or any size in between, deserve them as they made the commitment to represent their individual communities and Southeast Texas as a whole.  I for one am here to tell them that regardless of the won-loss record that may have resulted, that they are have done us proud.  Some of these gentlemen will be back next year in the very same uniforms, some will go on to play at the college level and even perhaps, in the NFL...but many of them will never put on a pair of football cleats ever again.  Regardless, I would like to thank them for allowing us to look into their lives and entertaining us on the past few Thursday, Friday and Saturday's.   Congratulations go out to the coaches who guided them as well.  These people, not for the money, but for the love of this game and the young men who surrounded them, have taken it upon themselves to guide these young men.  And they have have allowed themselves to judged depending on the collective results of teenagers.  Some may not seem patient but that is probably only because the abundant amount patience finally gave out.  That they have taken on the role as surrogate, and sometimes, sole, caretakers of these young guys should be enough to earn our thanks, but all too often in a result oriented world, they get our scorn.  For their ability to forge on despite that, they earn my respect. To the parents, the sacrifices that you have made can never be measured.  And the bands, cheerleaders, drill teams and booster, thank you for making our entertainment complete and providing us with the exciting atmosphere that is Texas High School Football. This is my first full football season as a mod/admin at setxsports.com and it has been a blast.  There are many who made it so fun. My OT Scoreboard Show broadcast partner and the board owner, Jordan Wilson.  Words cannot express the gratitude that all of us have for your efforts in putting this little playpen together for all of us to play in.  We undoubtedly take it for granted but know that your vision and hard work are appreciated. My buddy and fellow WO-S fan KFDMCOOP who has been after me for at least 3 years now to join the staff.  I'm grateful that you never gave up. To my guide, bobcatfan4life.  He had said at the beginning of the season he said he was stepping back, but he was never far way.  AND THANK GOD FOR THAT!  Because goodness knows I needed him often. To the broadcasters during the football season, Gabe, Joey and Corey, Mike and Tim, Bobby and Donnie, Kent and Dave, Jereme, Dennis, Adam, Coach Brack and Dennis Sedtal.  Thanks guy for entertaining me on Monday and Friday nights.  You guys made it sound so easy when I know for certain that it wasn't.   To my correspondents, who dutifully got scores to me during the season and made my job in updating the scores a lot easier: adminbaberuth Anafanatic BHFAN BMTSoulja1 SgtRey BCTreasurer Cardinal Supporter BHSCougars Burkeville Chronicle colmesneilfan1 Cap Rock Brewing Co. And on behalf of the staff, thanks to all of you fans and supporters of the setx schools for making setxsports.com part of you day during the football season as well as those fans who were from schools from outside of our area who chimed in from time to time....we may have not always acted like it, but we were glad to have you here.  We will rest, but we will not be far as we will keep you apprised on the post season awards, including the Willie Ray Smith Awards and the colleges our young men are moving on to.  The rest will be also shorter than usual as setxsports.com will bring to you LIVE the UIL Realignment on February 1.   And of course, THIS FORUM NEVER GOES DORMANT SO KEEP THE TOPICS COMING. It has been a fun year and I look forward to many more!!!
excellent post
3. When I think of the the spread in high school, the first thing that comes to my mind is the 05' Brenham team.
4.
Are you kidding? Crosby wont schedule Brenham or Dayton unless they get unlucky and get Dayton back in district. I kinda hope that Dayton and Crosby are in different districts because it sure makes alot of fun to beat the (insert four letter word here) out of them in the first round of the playoffs.
Lol  Your prolly right.  That would be penciling in an early loss for them.  It would help them get use to what they will see in the playoffs.  That's what we do, schedule somebody like 5A Lamar.  It would help them out.
5. Hey, here's an idea....maybe Crosby should try to schedule Brenham in the next year or 2.  I heard something about D1 recruits, good coaching and success.  I've seen Crosby and while they're not a bad football team, they're no where near the level of Brenham or Dayton in any of those 3 categories.  Look at the recent resumes of the 3.  Dayton and Brenham have both made deep playoff runs lately, including both teams making appearances in the state championship.  Crosby is good, but not on that level.  Ya, Crosby beat Dayton 28-0, but the post season is alot more important and it's where Crosby always falls short and Brenham and Dayton shine.  A big part of this is prolly coaching.  While Crosby has some D1 talent, it's not much as Brenham or Dayton.  Not even close.  I know Merka is yalls star, but if Brenham plays Crosby next year, we have a defense that is full of D1 talent, that will make him look like a fish out of water.  Both OLB's are D1 sophomores, we have a D1 CB who is a junior and by the end of the offseason, Malcolm Brown will prolly be on the D1 list as well.  Pretty good on offense too, as we will have D1 talent in, Ty Schlottmann, Troy Green and I'm sure you've heard of Derek Edwards?  Hopefully we will get to play y'all next year, but y'all are going to have to step it up or else get use to seeing Brenham vs Dayton in the region 3 championship.
6. Ya I didn't agree with the spot, but you don't win or lose the game on one play....." imagine that"
7. My cubs gave it all they had, but it just wasn't enough.  After looking at that spot they gave Green on that 4th and 2 run at the end of the game, and the more I look at it, I'm not so sure he didn't get it.  It's crazy to think that coach West allready planned a fake on the pat if the scored there.  What a story that would have been if it worked out that way.  Especially, considering 29-28 Brenham, is what a writer for Texas Football predicted.  Who knows how it would of gone. Great game either way.  Gray is an absolute beast and the Aledo defense wasn't much of a slouch either.  Reese had another one of the best catches I've seen in high school.  Green showed that he too, is a sophomore hb to keep an eye on.  Schlottman is getting better and better every game and Edwards will be an absolute star next year.  Hold your head up guys, and start working towards that title for next year.  Thanks to all the seniors who put on this show this year.  (Reese, Walker, Hall, Smith, Buro and the rest of you guys.) It was an amazing ride, with lots of memories.    *2009 Brenham Cubs- 18-4A District Champs, 4A D2 Region 3 Champs, 4A D2 State Finalist
8. Brenham looks hungry and has great coaching...I would pick Aledo, but Brenham has been on a roll with these late come backs....  Brenham 38-35, late fg wins this one, in a come back once again.  Blue Bell for everybody after the game!
9.
Well boys, time for some Friday walkthroughs, and get a good nights sleep. It's a little haul over to Georgetown, and time to get down to business. All the talking is over and may the best team win. May the Lord watch over every young man on that field and spare him from injury, and watch over all the fans, and families traveling to the game, both to and from. We ask all this in the name of our one and only Savior Jesus Christ Amen.......
Amen.  If anybody wants to listen to the Brenham game, I think it will be on KWHI.com
10.
WOW!!! What a game....I have ties to both places...good ties in Brenham...thanks to Prairie View A &M, and a great visit out to TIVY high school..what a nice campus!!! My heart goes with Brenham, but TIVY is tough and they are mad about going home early Last year... TIVY 37 Brenham 35....I hope I am wrong
If them going home early last year worries you, it shouldn't we went home a round before they did and were every bit as hungry as they are.  This is our 5th trip to the semis and we've only been to the championship once, so we know how disapointing it is to come this far and leave with nothing but dreams of what could have been.
11. We've played 2 5A games this year too.  We won one of them, but the other was scheduled as a Friday night home game, but due to bad weather it was cancelled.  Saturday morning they decided to play, but Lamar would only play if it was at their home stadium.  We drove to Houston and played on 4 hours notice, but we looked dead and like nobody cared about the game and we lost.  We play every year and it's always a good game that goes back and forth.  Coach West said he wouldn't have agreed to those terms and played, but we had a bye the next week and opened district with Montgomery the next week.  He didn't want us to be rusty going into district...My point is, we play 2 5A teams a year and we usually beat both of them or it's a really good game.  If your this far in the playoffs, you should be able to beat 5A teams.  Is the 4A title game in the Alamodome too or just 5A?
12.

Look what I found an a San Antonio forum-
Yep....very familiar with that forum...remember it well  ;D
Looks like this is going to be an interesting week.  "Brenham Fight Never Dies"
13. Hopefully we can discontinue the Johnny Manziel show...  Let's go GANGREEN defese...
14. Look what I found an a San Antonio forum- Tivy and AH prove time and again that superior coaching beats superior players and talent. If the game was closer to here, I'd be there cheering on Tivy. I will be cheering for Tivy in spirit. Tivy and AH coaches are the best and their deep playoff runs prove it. Go Tivy! You guys have the most important ingredient that your opponents don't - a great coach and coaching staff. TFND! G LMAO.  I guess he's in for a rude awakening Saturday after the game starts and he relizes that our coaching isn't too bad.
15. Stewart is a great coach and is the reason for Daytons success...if you think otherwise, you must have a really low football IQ.
16. 3. La Marque vs Texas City 2. Midland Lee vs Odessa Permian 1. Longview vs Marshall
17. Let's both bring back a title for region 3...your game is gonna be harder than yours, but you gotta believe.  Good luck, Brenham is behind you.  LT's weakness is their run defense.
18. If Tivy's sportsmanship and conduct is as bad as I hear it is, our boys will probably feed off of that and use it as motivation.  If we can slow Manziel down, I think we'll run away with this one.  If not, it will be close.  Thanks for the support.
19. I can't wait send this team home...if the sportsmanship is as bad as I hear, this could get very interesting.
20.

I was very impressed with the speed at which the Dayton fans were able to leave when Brenham took the lead. They werent as fast as PNG fans, but they were fast none the less.
Still got PNG on the brain, you know you shoudn't have won that game huh..........
Explain how we "shouldn't have won that game?".  From where I was sitting we flat out just outplayed you.  It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile...winning is winning.  The would've, should've, could've doesn't matter in sports.
21.
Brenham is now the defending class 4a region 3 defending champ in men's soccer, baseball, and volleyball, and just won the championship in football. Not bad I would say.
Very true...we need to work on basketball I guess.  ;)
22. Cardiac cats fits this team perfectly...is anyone gonna travel to watch Brenham in the next round?
23. Great game by both teams.  Dayton had the best sportsmanship I've seen all year.  I'm looking forward to playing y'all next year...same round, same place.  I hope Brenham learns how to play 4 quarters instead of 2.  Maybe we can bring this win back for region 3!  Congrats on a great season Dayton, nothing to hang your head about.
