  1. I agree with those teams, other than the 2007 Waller team.  They wernt all that great.  They were good, but they are nowhere close to those other teams.  We beat them and it was an off year for us.
  2. Appling is your main concern.  Time of possession will play a big part in this one.  I'll take Dayton by 10, mainly because the last 3 teams they've faced, have similar styles.  All 3 love to run, but El Campo has a better defense than the other 2.  Come out and take them seriously and it should be Dayton vs Brenham/Angleton next weekend.  Hopefully i'll get to see a grudge match from last years reginal final...minus Cody Green and A.J. Dugat.  Good luck Dayton, you have this cubs support.
  3. Cubfan is right, Troy is good to go.  My friend works with his dad and talked to him about it.  He said the same thing and that our boys are excited and ready to play in a game of this caliber.  I've been waiting for this game all season.  This and a rematch against Dayton.  One game at a time though, and we have our hands full already.
  4. Trust me, I'm not throwing in the towel. It's just not a good math up for us.  I'm not saying we don't have a chance.  We just match up better with other teams.  There's a grudge match I wanna see...minus Cody Green this time.
  5. I'm hoping I'm wrong about this but I don't think Brenham matches up well with Angleton.  Does anybody know if Diggs is back to 100%?  Looking forward to the game.  I see Brenham still has some non-believers.  Angleton is by far the most talented team we have seen.  Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, but I'll take Angleton by 10.
  6. I had a pretty good prediction over what would happen...(if u double or triple team #81, our other D1 commit #9 will hurt u) and that is exactly what happened.
  7. Good game as expected.  I think PNG was in shock after the first half.  One thing that I was dissapointed about was the unsportsmanlike conduct at the end of the game.  That made it seem like they gave up, atleast untill the fumble.  I heard all week how well disciplened they were, so it was surprising.  Mental collapse by Brenham's defense in the second half.  Gonna have to get use to that no-huddle.  Angleton might try it now.  Good season PNG.  Go cubs!!!!
  8. Thanks for the welcome.  Y'all find anything?
  9. If you google this years Texas football classic you might be able to find some footage on us.  Not sure, just an idea.  Let me know if it works.
  10. Correction, Dobbins had like 220 yards against us.  220 of their 260.  We just stopped them everywhere else.  They only completed 2 passes.  Even with Dobbins having a good game, we still caused turnovers and won 14-7.  We returned a bad pitch for a td and hung on in the 4th for the win.
  11. I don't know about 3 td's.  I think your selling us short.  Close game, within 3 or 4 points.  Turnovers and field position determine the winner.  24-21 Brenham
  12. Ya, I know about Massey.  I mean something like where a couple of people make picks.  Thanks though.
  13. Anybody know of any links where I can see "expert picks" over this game and others?
  14. Thanks, I just try to speak my mind and have as many facts as possible to back up what I say.  Brenham has SOME loyal fans, but I wish we had the support and following PNG or Permian has.  I think it makes a difference.  I mean, we've been pretty successful, so I don't understand why we don't have better support.  All I can think of is our state titles.  We have none, PNG has 3 and Permian has 6.
  15. Ya, they played on the 05' semi finalist team and the team that lost to Texas City at the Berry Center in 06'.  I thought that was our best chance at state title, but we fell short.
  16. Ya, if it's raining, y'all should have the advantage, though I did see Brenham put up 28 pts (all passing td's) and almost 300 yards in the air, in a rainy/windy game earlier this year.  The defense it was on wasn't as good as talks but it was still impressive.  They stacked the box, thinking we would have to run, due to the conditions.  They surprised everybody when they came out passing.
  17. Be careful with stats, sometimes they can be misleading...Our defense has 12 td's this year.  That has slowed our offensive stats.
  18. Tc35, how can either team be a "clear underdog"?  PNG has great fans, coaching, discipline, they are undefeated and #5 in the state.  Brenham has D1 talent, coaching, was ranked 10 going into the last game of the season and has been in this position the last couple of years.  They look pretty even to me.  Can't wait to watch it go down.
  19. Thanks for the correction liltex....lake Dallas is good. I'm gonna say them are Denison is my prediction.  Aledo is good, but I think Stephanville might pull the upset this week.
  20. Lmao...ya Yates has a cupcake schedule most of the time.  El Campo is decent this year.  Waller won't be a problem as long as teams don't underestimate them like we did.  Ya they lost to Nederland and La Marque 19-0, but they're playing alot better.  I was at the Waller vs La Marque game and they looked horrible, but remember they have won 5 in a row.  If you can keep Miller Pierce (Waller QB from running then the games over.  He scored both td's against us and had an interception he returned 65 yards to set up a field goal.  He was 0-10 passing on us though.  He is their team.  I wanna see Dayton vs Yates...hope that happens.
  21. KBTX from college station is the only news that covers Brenham, so anything you can find is prolly gonna be there.  That's all I can think of.  It's funny, it's like were too far from Houston to cover, until we have a team like we did in '02 when we played in the championship game, or 05' when we made the semis.  When that happens the chronicle is quick to claim us as, "Houston area"...funny how that works.
  22. Thanks for the welcome hammer.  NDN79, whoever wins this great match up...I hope they beat Angleton.  I'm so tired of hearing about how great they are.  I don't think we match up well with them, at least not as well as we do with other quality teams...Hopefully one of us can take them down and represent region 3 well.  Whoever wins the region should get through the semis and my guess is they will play Denison, Ryan or Guyer in the championship.
  23. Fair warning...#81, Reese is really good, but keep an eye out fair #9, Edwards...3 or 4 teams decided to double and triple team Reese this year and and Edwards had a field day.  Guess they forgot theres another D1 recruit at the other wideout.  To help the guy with the scouting report out, #20 Green is a "good sophomore but he has under 500 yards" like you were saying, but its due to a balanced offense, we use three backs and he was out with an ankle injury for 2 games this year.
