1.
I was talking to the women in my office who have kids playing for Waller.  They told me that Waller was really able to run the ball on Brenham and how it's a big rivalry game, etc.  Was it just an off game or were they running a good scheme and taking advantage of a breakdown in the defense?? I've seen many of you site the Crosby game from this year as a reason that Dayton is "not as good as last year."  I assure you this year's version of Dayton is every bit as good as last year's team with super soph Gemal Fowler really starting to come into his own.  Dayton really laid an egg in the Crosby game with turnovers but the final score is not an accurate determination of where Dayton is right now (or really then either as I've never seen one team recover 9 fumbles and the other 0 in one game).
It depends who's running the ball...Dobbins had 240 yards against us, but Montgomery only had like 260 yards total and completed 2 passes.  Somehow we shut Gilbert down when we played Huntsville.  Angleton ran on us, cuz well, they're Angleton...They will get rushing yards on anybody.  I heard PNG could run the ball and we held them to like 50 yards.  The Waller game was a fluke and all their yards came from 2 70+ yard runs.  Other than that, they didn't do anything.  If teams run, expect 8 or 9 in the box.
 2. Thanks, hope you can get a ticket, otherwise you will probably be missing a classic.

Many teams would trade places with you. Ha Seen the weather this weekend men?  8)
Ya I agree.  One thing you can bet on, next year when Waller comes here to play us, it's not gonna be pretty.  Should be a chilly night at rhodes.  Looking forward to some hard hitting, quality football.  Both teams have alot of class and are very similar.  Good defenses, similar plays, speed is about the same and both teams have alot of heart.  Turnovers and field position will decide this one.  So far every team that beat us last year, we've beat by atleast 16, so i'm hoping the revenge factor continues.  You going to the game?
If I can get my ticket from Dayton HHS. Here they go on sale tomorrow morning at 8...Not sure about there.  I wish our fans supported our football team as much as we do our baseball team.  I guess it's cuz they havnt had the same success, but still, there not too bad.  After all, more fan support could only help.
There's really no excuse, cuz you should always give it 100%.  From what I hear, the morning after the Waller game they held a team meeting and numerous players stood up, apologized and admited that they didn't take that game seriously.  Probably because of their record and the fact that we had already clinched our district.  They said they wouldn't let it happen again and proved it the next week in a similar game against Manor.  Rivalry game or not, I know, losing to Waller is unacceptable.
 6.

See you there...oh ya, no Cody Green or A.J. Dugat this year...should be a helluva game
No washington brothers
Their main thing was track, not football.  We have better team this year.  Last year we played off of our momentum with a rebuilding team.  We entered with 4 loses and didn't win our district for the first time in a while.  Now we enter with 2 loses, coming off of back to back victories over ranked teams and revenge on our mind.  We'll be ready and we have a couple of new weapons this year.
 7. See you there...oh ya, no Cody Green or A.J. Dugat this year...should be a helluva game
 8. Cuero vs Gilmer will be a great game.  Gilmer has been favored all year, but Cuero is always good and has a great rushing attack.  Just one of many great games this weekend.
 9. Ya there are some bears in Montgomery, but if it's a Cub your looking for...Try Rhodes Stadium at 6pm on Saturday.
 10. Just for the record, if you were looking for a bear, your looking for the wrong thing.  Lions are cubs too.  Maybe you'll have better luck finding one of those next time your in Brenham.
Hey, we don't need any Brenham naysayers on here. The only good things to ever come out of Brenham is Limas Sweed and Blue Bell Ice Cream, and some flavors aren't even that good! And how can you even call yourselves the cubs? I've been to Brenham at least 3 times and I still haven't seen one bear! DAYTON BY 2!!
Well for starters, Blue Bell is the sh!t, Limas Sweed and the whole 02' finalist team was good, The 05' semi finalist team with Jarrett Lee, Brandon Collins, A.J. Edwards, Luke Poehlman, Lester Ward, Sean Sullivan, Ahmad Howard and Kyle Mangan was probably one of the most talented classes ever, Cecil Cooper, Jon Peters (first high school athelete to be on the SI cover), "Birthplace of Texas", "Baseball Capital of Texas" (14 state appearances and 6 state championships)....Anyways, back to football, Give me Brenham by 10 with a late pick 6.

 13. I was at both games and in my opinion Brenham is every bit as fast as Dayton.  I think Angleton made us look alot slower than we really are.  Every team we have played has listed our speed as a big concern, with the exception of Angleton and now y'all.  Like I said, this game is a toss up.  Turnovers and field position win it.
 14.
Crunch numbers, pull out the Ouiji Boards, call the Amazing Kreskin for his prediction, whatever you want. Folk this is going to be the ticket to see. This game should be televised, it's going to be that good, and definately better than the Texans game.
Your right about that...anybody have any connections or know any way to make that possible?  Otherwise alot of people will be missing out on what should be a great game...
 15. Massey is fun but it's usually not very accurate.  It's interesting, but as everybody knows...the game is played on the field and not on paper.  We would have been out 2 games ago if Massey were always right.  I'm not sure how many other people have been waiting all year to see this, but I know I have.  Hats off to both teams.  If your still playing in December, your doing something right.
 16. Dusty, you forgot to mention the receiver that leads our team in td's, yards and receptions...#81 Terrelle Reese.(You haven't heard much about him lately, cuz he's been doubled the last half of the season.). He made 2 difficult catches in the first half, and was the one that caught the pass on the fake fg.
 17. Nice post ricko.  I've never seen a team with Angletons speed either...I agree, Brenhams o-line and the turn over battle will determine this one.
 18. Brenham is every bit as fast as Dayton.  Very similar teams...my pick- Brenham 27  Dayton 17
 19. Ya, Waller beat us but I could say the same about the Dayton vs Crosby game.  I know Crosby is alot better than Waller, but there's no way Dayton should have lost by 28, much less be shut out.  That shouldn't happen to a back-to-back regional champ.  I'm just trying to say...you can't be perfect every game.
 20. Good post about Ty...he is very underrated...I don't know about the whole state, but defiantly one of the best in region 3.  His 2 6'2", D1 targets don't hurt either.  Reese will be gone next year, but Edwards will be back and so will Ty.  I'm just glad I get to see this rematch.  I watched the Dayton vs El Campo game and I was very impressed.  Maybe this will turn into an annual meeting between these 2 great schools...
 21. Awesome game....last nights Dayton game was good but I think this one tops it.  Down 21-0 at the half, against a run based team is not where you wanna be.  We hung in there, and pulled off the comeback/upset.  Disappointed by the stunts Angleton pulled at the end.  (Roughing the passer, which injured our qb, but our back up came in and under pressure and threw a td). The punches thrown while we  were taking a knee, weren't necessary).  Can't wait for the Brenham vs Dayton rematch.  Congrats to everybody that's still in the playoffs.
 22. Hey rjn, don't count us out yet....your ready to crown Angleton, when they still have a battle to fight at 2 tomorro.  Ya were underdogs, but we were last week too...we'll be ready!
