I know Brenham has TB Troy Green (6’1” 198) coming back and WR Tre’Mund Moore (6’1” 170, Jr.) returning for the offense, so you'll get no argument from me about the Cubs being a great team, with a great coaching staff..... that really wasn't what I was trying to say in my post concerning the TSRN ratings. When I went back and read my post I realized that I had left out what I meant to say, if you will notice I said both teams are loosing their QB well the other team that I failed to mention was Friendswood who is ranked at #10, I just think that they should be ranked higher than a #10 spot. So let me compare the 2 teams with out taking anything away from the accomplishments of Brenham. (1) Both coaches were named coach of the yr. in their respective districts. (2) Both teams lost their starting QB. (3) Brenham is 23-4 the last 2 seasons. (4) Friendswood is 23-6 the last 2 yrs. (5) Brenham in 2008 made it to the Q-Finals, 2009 State lost to Aledo, 2010 Bi-District. (6) Friendswood 2008 Semi-Finals, 2009 Q-Finals, 2010 Semi-Finals. (7) Brenham overall record- 535-363-41  59% win Pct.-939 games played. (8) Friendswood 394-261-14 overall  60% win Pct-669 games played.     I realize that Brenham has played over 250 more games than Friendswood, heck Brenham has been playing football since the turn of the century... I said all that to say this....Taking into account Friendswood's record the last 2 or 3 yrs. why didn't TSRN give them a little more love than a #10 spot?? PS the #eight in my key board seems to be messed up it put a cool instead of the #  ;D
Brenham's winning % is 61%, not 59%.  ;) ;D Brenham VS 17-4A & 24-4A = 56-16 Friendswood VS 17-4A & 24-4A = 58-37 I do think Friendswood should be higher though.  Maybe #7 or #8. IMO, Humble should be #3 or #4, and i'd have Dayton at #6.
Well first of all Brenham's winning % is not even 59% let alone 61. If you add up all the wins and losses and ties and then divide the total by the wins then you will get that the winning percentage of Brenham is 56.99 percent which we will round up to 57 percent. not 59 or 61. And second of all Friendswoods winning percentage is not 60 percent. Like i said above if you add up the wins and losses and ties and then divide the total by the wins then you will get that Friendswood winning percentage is 58.89 which we round up to 59 percent
I didn't do the math.  I cheated and got it from online, so I appoligize if it's incorrect. 8.
IMO Dayton-Brenham when they meet in the playoffs. :)
Not many games between the 2 teams, (3) but there's no denying that Dayton and Brenham are both perennial powers and have made sure the the rest of region 3 knows it.  What might have given this rivalry in the making, what it needs to become a rivalry was the realignment last year.  It lines the 2 teams  up to meet in the 2nd round, rather than the regional final.  Which means the 2 teams have a lot better chance of meeting up. (considering both usually win their district and have to go D2) Not quite the big excitement of a regional final, but it will definatly be worth watching no matter when they meet up.

Best of three match, correct?
Correct, unless you count 1941. Brenham VS Dayton (All Time) 1941 - Brenham won 26-13 2008 - Dayton won 42-21 2009 - Brenham won 30-26
 12.
I am looking forward to a great Broncos Football season. A very deep run, into the State Playoffs once again is extremely likely. 13.

I just don't see how any of this makes Texas HS sports any better. In this day and age of budget cuts deluxe, how is making districts travel futher and futher for all sports justifiable. Ask the folks in 2A and 1A how they like it (and get ready for a tongue lashing)!
It doesn't make HS sports any better at all. I am not an "I told you so" guy, but for YEARS on this board I have spoke out about nonsensical, costly moves by the UIL. Far too many things to rehash here, but in a nutshell I said: Too much travel, too much additional expenses like fuel, too many schools building too many too fancy stadiums just to "one up" everyone else, etc. You get the idea. I even said years ago, gas would hit $4.00 in the near future, and people scoffed. Long travel impacts parents and fans being able to make the game on time, too, since many work till 6PM. The budget cuts (read: reality) is now sinking in. Expenses aside, I hate watering down anything. 4 team is WAAAY too many for the playoffs. 2 for a six-team district, 3 for an eight team, max, is what I say. Again, people need to CLEARLY understand: The UIL is NOT about HS sports, its simply and purely about lining their pockets with profits. Every single solitary decision they make has a strong money aspect behind it. Oh well, life (and HS sports) goes on...
I say 2 teams should make it from each district, no matter how many teams are in the district.
 14.
I know the Cubs are a good team that have consistently made the playoffs the last 10 yrs. and has been to the Semi-Finals twice but how do you put them in the #1 spot when they didn't make it past Bi-District last year??   ??? Brenham has their defensive MVP coming back. Both teams are loosing their dist. MVP QB. The only thing I can figure is that Brenham has more all-district players returning!  :-\
You're right about the all district players returning.  Also, 2 defensive players on the pre-season all-state team.  Defense is the foundation to a great team, and we have arguably the best defense in the state.  Kudos to Humble also, as their defense is fierce too.  We did lose our QB, but we do have an A&M committ on the o-line, and another Aggie in the backfield.  He will take some pressure off the new QB, and he's pretty physical runner,  and an excellent blocker.  A pretty good WR, that wins just about any jump ball, has to boost a new QB's confidence too.  Coach West and his staff are top notch at what they do.  Ya, we did get eliminated in the first round last year, but were 23-4 in the last two seasons, with a state championship appearance.  Not too many teams can say that.  From what the DCTF & FNF said, our depth is what sets us apart from most teams. Brenham is also playing with a HUGE chip on their shoulder after last years early and unexpected exit from the playoffs.
