Pretty bold statement. What makes you think that?
Don't be too surprised....  It was Scooter who made this prediction.  If they don't beat Friendswood, (which is early in the year... Should be a great game) they won't see a #1 ranking.  You usually have to be undefeated to be ranked #1.
 3.
Wasn't the final score like 14-10 last year 8)
Ya, they scored at the end to come back and win.  Bobby, were on the same page...  LT will have a huge chip on their shoulder, and I see it resulting in a 10 point win for the Cavs.  In the 09' playoffs, against a healthy LT, Malcolm Brown put up 299 yards for Steele, and they still lost.  Gray is a great player, (i think even better than Brown) but they will need more than just another sub-150 yard performance in order to get the win.  The Bearcats will need to get atleast 200+ yards out of Gray, to have a chance, and even then, I think LT will be too much.
 4. Lake Travis by 10.  People don't give their defense the credit they deserve.  Aledo is very good, but LT will return the favor this year by snapping the winning streak.  A healthy Aledo team barely beat a crippled LT team, last year.  Adjustments will be made, and their will be different outcome this year.

The concessions, however, are poor. The Butch is my favorite local stadium for away games. The stadium is awesome! Plus, the smoked turkey legs and popcorn balls make for the best Friday night game food anywhere!
I love those smoked turkey legs!
Man, I planned on trying one of those turkey legs @ the Butch, but the game I went too, happened to be the same day we lost to KP, so wasn't thinking clearly and I forgot get one.  I'll have have go catch a game there this year.
 6. 1. The Berry Center- IMO, it's the hands down best stadium to play at.  It has a great atmosphere and looks phenomenal. 2. The Butch- I watched the Dayton VS Livingston game there last year, and I have to say, it was impressive.  With tv's at the concession stand, and the great seating, this has to be one of the better stadiums around. 3. Waller ISD Stadium- $17.5 million, well spent.  Awesome stadium!  Considering Waller is a small 4A school, who's last stadium only sat around 4,000 people, this is a huge upgrade.  Now, the visitors side alone seats 4,000. (stadium cap is 10,000) Hard to believe they are the only school that plays at this taj mahal of a stadium. 4. Woodforest Bank Stadium- The pride of a wealthy school district.  It's an impressive stadium, but the traffic there was horrible when we played there. 5. Rhodes Stadium- It's an older stadium, but there's just something about that place.

 9. Article from the Banner Press. West: Cubs don’t want to change date of Lamar Consolidated ballgame again By RICHARD BRAY/Sports Editor Published: Friday, July 22, 2011 2:42 PM CDT Brenham High School football coach Glen West doesn’t know if the NCAA will allow the Longhorn Network to broadcast the Cubs’ game against Lamar Consolidated High School. Actually, he doesn’t care whether the game is broadcast on the fledgling network at all. He just wants the game to be played on Sept. 1, as it is currently scheduled. Brenham announced last week that it had moved its game against Lamar Consolidated from Sept. 3 ahead two days to accommodate the Longhorn Network, the joint venture between the University of Texas and ESPN. But in the interim, the network has come under fire as critics charge that airing high school football games would give the University of Texas a recruiting advantage and violate NCAA rules. West said this morning that he does not know whether the Longhorn Network will follow through with its plans to air the game, but he has already signed a contract allowing the network to broadcast the contest. He said ESPN told him on Wednesday that it intended to officially announce the game this weekend at the Texas High School Coaches Association convention in Fort Worth. But those plans may be in limbo as the network discusses its plans with both the NCAA and the Big 12 Conference. Regardless of whether the Longhorn Network is allowed to air high school sports, West wants to keep Brenham’s game against Lamar Consolidated scheduled for Sept. 1. “Our whole thing since the get-go is that we don’t like playing Labor Day weekend on a Saturday,” West said. “We don’t think the crowd will be very good and it messes with the next week. There’s just not anybody in Brenham excited about playing a Saturday game Sept. 3.” The game was originally scheduled for Saturday because Fort Bend ISD features multiple high schools sharing a stadium and as the home team, Fort Bend ISD selected which of its games would be played Friday and which would be played Saturday. The game was then moved to Thursday at the Longhorn Network’s request. Brenham will begin practices on Aug. 1, and will be allowed to practice in pads beginning Aug. 5. Graduated defensive back Rodney Hubert will be playing in the THSCA all-star football game Tuesday night, and on Monday night graduated Brenham High School basketball player Deonnte Breedlove will play in the THSCA all-star basketball game.

Heck, their D-line alone has 3 D1 guys on it! (a 4 star, a 3 star & a 2 star)
Didn't the Miami Heat win the NBA Championship?  They had 3 all-star players on their team which is alot more than the Mavericks have.  Oh wait, they lost! That said, talent is great, but you have to play as a team.
I do mention D1 players a lot, but it's for a good reason.  D1 players don't automatically make you the better team, but they do make winning a lot easier.  I'm aware that coaching is very important, but so is talent.  That's why the more successful teams usually have a good combination of coaching and talent.  You mentioned the Heat, and while I'm not a big fan of comparing 2 totally different sports, (especially at drastically different levels) I'll do it for the point of discussion.  Professional sports are run by contracts, agents, the media & most importantly money.  HS sports only uses 1 of those 4 things. (media) BTW, I know the Mavericks have a couple guys that played some college ball, and on top of that, they have a lot more experience together than the Heat did.

Antonio White (Livingston) 3. Devonte Mays (Livingston) 4. Chase Bertrand (PN-G) 5. Brilon Douglas (LC-M)
Ya that's him.  I think he was sophomore last year, but he very well could have been a freshman.  I think he will have a break out year.
It may be a good year, but may not be 'breakout'.  I've also heard that Ozen's O-line won't be spectacular.  I think He'll be right up there numberwise to the Livingston RB's and Bertrand.  I don't think He'll be running away from the pack, though.
That's why I have him at 5.
1. Chase Bertrand- PNG 2. Devont Mays- Livingston 3. Antonio White- Livingston 4. David Smallwood- Vidor 5. Jacoby Jones- Ozen
David Smallwood? Not trying to put the kid down or anything but he had the least amount of running yardage and TD's of the 3 Vidor runningbacks from last year. Can i ask why you picked him?
To be honest, I was only sure on the top 3.  I've seen Bertrand a couple of times, and I know he's legit and can eat up the clock.  I saw Livingston play Dayton last year, and I looked up some stats in DCTF.  I've never seen Vidor play, but I know the offense they run.  That being said, somebody has to get yards and not being familiar with the Pirates, I took a stab in the dark.  The last one is young, but he will need to step up for Ozen, to take the pressure off of Green.  Central's Heard is gone, so that rounds out my 5.
