1. Any word on who may be the next head coach? Thanks to Coach Little, he did a great job.
2. What are they going to be like?
3.

Bridge City beat Shepherd and the Kolek brothers in the 1st round of the playoffs this year.  With 2 pitchers throwing 94mph+ it's hard to believe Shepherd could only manage to get 3rd in district and barely sneak into the playoffs.
The younger brother pitched against BC.  The older one was injured.
What kind of injury?  Arm-related?  That is a lot of force on a young shoulder.  Wow!
Broke his wrist on his non-throwing arm.  It was a collision at 1st I believe.
4. The older brother got hurt very early in district, and did not return.  They should be picked to win district next year, as long as those two are still there and healthy.
5. I believe this will be the 3rd time in 4 years these two teams have met up.  Both coaching staffs will have their teams ready. I believe Bridge City just has more talent and is clicking at the right time.  I have them moving on.
6. Makes you wonder what Huffman has left pitching wise.  I know they had 4 games in 2 days, and I am pretty sure they don't have their number 1 or 2 for tonight.  Fannett may be able to sneak up and surprise them.
7. Watch out for Shepherd with the Kolek boys.  Going to say it will be between them, Huffman, and Splendora for district championship.  1. Splendora-- Defending Champs 2. Shepherd 3. Huffman
8. Anyone know where I can listen to this one at?  Cannot make it out there.
9. 3 of the last 4 have been Great games.  I hope tonight is no difference.  Good luck to both teams.  Whoever wins should make a good run.
10. So are you saying talent wise Huffman and Coldspring are the same?
11. mwm4795: I am assuming you are asking this question because of the school you support.  Do you not feel the coaching is up to par, if so why?  Also, how long have you been around the school you support?
12. Takes a good combination of both.  The coaching has to be good, but also you have to have some kids.  Like shooter said, you can win some games on talent alone.  I believe if you are consistently going 7-3, 8-2, then you probably have a good combination of both.
13. Cleveland Wins-- they are in Shepherd Wins -- they are in (they play Cleveland) Huffman Wins -- they are in Cleveland loses, Huffman Loses, and Liberty wins over Tarkington -- Huffman is in, based on head to head. Shepherd loses, Huffman Loses and Liberty wins -- Huffman in, based on points. Shepherd loses, Huffman loses, and Liberty Loses -- Shepherd is in, based on head to head with Huffman. I believe these are all the scenarios.  Pretty much Huffman needs to beat Splendora, and the winner of Shepherd/Cleveland should get in.
14. So you think Huffman has as much talent as Coldspring and Navasota????  Also, can you tell me the three running plays they run.
15.
I hate that Townleys Sr year ends this way but if I am correct he has yet to finish a season in football without an injury. With him out and 3 other players having to have surgery looks like this is a done season for us. Even if we were to luck into the playoffs it will be an easy 1st round exit. So let’s ask the tough question what coach bases his offense on the passing game and not have some type of backup QB costing him dearly not just 1 season but 2, especially when you have a good qb that is injury prone any way. Then you have a great running back like grey that even when you use him as such you running plays consist of 3 plays then you move him to receiver. Only when your qb goes down every play you run through him because you believe he is your only hope. Then there is special teams I wish someone had stats on how many games we gave up points on special teams, when Mac started out as a special teams coach this is an area when should excel at. I was also told a story at Fridays game that when Mac first came to Huffman he stated he hated coaching hs football but if you were going to coach in Texas it was something you have to do. Sounds to me Time for a coach with more passion for the game I feel his success up to this point has been based on the talent of the Kids and not his coaching ability. Time for a change.....
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.  You are asking to get rid of one of the most successful coaches in the schools history.  He has taking them to playoffs 4 years straight.  Taking them into the 2nd round 2 years straight.  Name another coach who has done that at Huffman.  I can answer it for you, NONE.  Also, I would love to know who said he does not like football, because I am pretty sure that is something you have made up in order to get controversy started.  Speaking of QB's, you do know the back-up QB was hurt at Cleveland, so they actually had their 3rd string QB in to finish the game.  With all the injuries they have had this year, they probably will have a 1st round exit, but I promise you it is not because of coaching.  Some times you get hit with the injury bug and have to make the best of the situation.
Huffman's D has been absolutely atrocious this year, wow!! Congrats to Shepherd. I guess I got some major crow coming my way :-[ 8), I know IDK is going to have alot to say ;).
Where you at the game? If you were makes me wonder how you can blame this one on the d.
17. These two teams respect each other.  I am hoping for a competitive game like it has been the last two years.  Good luck to both teams, and hopefully a lot of people will be there to make it a playoff atmosphere.
18. Silsbee is very good this year.  I could see them and Huffman being a high scoring game like it was a few years ago.
19. The refs were bad both ways.  They had nothing to do with the two passes we dropped that would have been touchdowns.  Also, had nothing to do with the pick six we threw. Our kids need to keep their heads up and be ready for this week.  Congrats to Huffman on their win, and good luck with Coldspring.
20. I could see this being a close one.  Maybe one touchdown either way.  Good luck to both teams. I will say Huffman 21 Cleveland 14.
21.
Cleveland's defense hasn't faced an offense like Tarkington. I don't think they can stop the longhorns. I am also willing to bet that if Tarkington gets up on them, the tribe won't be able to overcome it. Longhorn offense is too much for Cleveland. Tarkington 42 - 12
42 on Cleveland no way.  Tarkington scored only 14 on HJ.  Cleveland's defense is way better than HJ.  Glad to see Tarkington getting some wins but don't see them winning this one.  Good news is they have a chance to go 3-3 in district and finish with a 6-4 record.
