Congratulations to Navasota, Crosby and Dickinson on their continuing play-off runs!!! I have to add that the Tarkington community showed up en masse at Bryan for their first playoff game. Someone estimated 2500 folks there in the drizzling, cold rain. Then Tarkington's stands were again full in Lindale, (3 1/2 hour drive) for the second game. Now, no rude comments about why. This is why I love high school football, the players' and coaches' passion and the parents' and communities' support. No better way to spend Friday nights or Saturdays in the Fall!!

Yoe is the heavy favorite, but I never count EC out. Good coaching, preparation, and heart win them games they are supposed to lose. Rooting for EC.

The only folks who can truly complain are the #1s who get knocked off by a 4th seed. And then there are strong districts whose 4th place may be a better team. It is what it is, until somebody changes it.
-
What's the problem if it rewards the 1 seeds by playing a team they should easily beat?
If you went to three teams they would have a bye anyway. This way they can keep the rust off and get some younger players playoff experience.
And if the 4 seed wins, then they deserve to be there anyway. -
Oh ye of little faith...Tarkington by 3.

Hupernikomen, you expressed my sentiments. I'll just add...these kids have found that "will to win" that has eluded Longhorn teams for too long. It is so much fun to see the whole community come out to support the team. Thank you Longhorn players and coaches for electrifying Tarkington Prairie.

This was an exciting game. Dayton could've, should've, would've, but Porter's D held at the end. Dayton ran all over Porter, but Porter's QB made those big plays when he had to. Good game by both teams.
