  1. k every rivarly has a period where one team trumps another for a few years. Whats the all time record ....ok then exactly so i wouldnt crown ou as the king of this rivalry.

    O who???

    ou sucks!!

Who cares what the "all-time" record is, what matters is right now, but you know who the better team is this year, so since you ran to games dating back so long, I've got you this...

You really should go cheer on you team against such powerhouses as Arkansas St. and Army...really. Leave the debating to those who actually know what a good team is...you haven't seen one in quite sometime.

Come on, formerpirate. You know that ain't gonna happen. It's another Aggie tradition.......worrying about what the Horns are doing. Heck, they even sing about us.  ;)

You're right, I sometimes forget they are obsessed with the Horns.  They are more concerned about us losing then them winning...very strange. Another one of their insane, ignorant traditions.

  3. Congrats again on a good win LCM got taken to the woodshed.(again) My only question is this I know you fans dont control this situation but maybe you could shed some light on the situation. After the game some LCM players parents mostly seniors tried to go onto the field(sideline) but werent allowed by police , they said some person went out there after a game and got hurt and sued the school. My only problem with that was the fact that all the fans (parents) from the home side were allowed to go onto the field and celebrate the victory. Just didnt seem right? Not a knock agaisnt Vidor fans because the one I talked with were very classy. The cops not so much.

The same thing happened my senior year when I played for Vidor. Our last game was at Nederland and they would not let the Vidor parents on the field, but all of the parents from Nederland were on the field taking pictures and hugging their kids. Most away teams get the short end of the stick on the last game, it happens everywhere.

  4. Sorry for the delay guys, I dislocated my knee this weekend and I forgot all about this.    :-[

    Week 7

    Illinois @ Iowa

    LSU @ Kentucky

    Louisville @ Cincinnati

    Auburn @ Arkansas

    Oklahoma St. @ Nebraska

    Texas A&M @ Texas Tech

    Colorado @ Kansas State

    Purdue @ Michigan

    Georgia Tech @ Miami

  5. Vidor's offensive line needs to step it up. Their quarterback and running back (#40... is it Pillsbury?) did fine but just didn't have a lot of room or time to work with.

If they can get some good blocking against Lumberton, Vidor can stay in the game.

Not sure how you can win when you start an OL who is 5'5" tall. He may have heart and desire, but when you are 5'5" going against 6'0-6'5 DE's you are not going to block them.

  6. I know my son and his friends have said they would want to play for Lamar if they have a team after they graduate.

I went to Lamar in the 80's and in the final stages of the football program not many players came from this area.  My opinion was then as it is now, if they had the program and filled it with area players LU stadium would have been packed with screaming fans.  Our area has such a great history of fan support for their teams.  I can't imagine it not carrying over to the college level as well.

I graduate in May from Lamar, but I still have 4 yrs. of athletic eligibility left and would take one pushover class a semester to play football for them.

  7. I think it is ridiculous. My dad told me he would never talk to the coach on my behalf. If I felt I was being treated unfairly, it was my duty to discuss it w/ the coach. Also, he let it be known that he would never influence the coaches decision on whether or not I should be starting. He would get so mad when he would hear of parents watching practice and bringing the coaches food and what not. He would always tell me that my ability on the field should earn me a starting job, not my parents being in the booster club. Ultimately, I believe that helped me even more and I became a 3 year letterman because I wanted to play and show what I could do. Not just have my parents woo the coaches into playing me.
