1. Here's some interesting tidbits in an article about the name Dayton and its origin from a very trustworthy website and I added my translation as well, Enjoy:

Below is a brief analysis of the name of your City.

•The name of Dayton means you suffer with a great deal of self-consciousness, lack of confidence, and much aloneness because of misunderstandings. UH-OH Here comes Crosby!!!

•There are times when you experience inner turbulence at your inability to say what you mean. Several Dayton posters on SETX.com!!

•It is far easier for you to express your deeper thoughts and feelings through writing than verbally. HA y'alls deep thoughts are very shallow!!

•Because your feelings run deep, you must guard against the ups and downs, being very inspired one minute, then moody, reserved, and depressed the next. Friday night is a time of depression just ask the fans that witnessed CV, King, and now CROSBY!!!

•Your reactions to people vary according to how you feel. Whining and excuses comes to mind!!

•You tend to be secretive and noncommittal about private matters, yet at times you will talk effusively in order to hide your self-consciousness or to lead others away from personal subjects. DING DING DING we have a winner, boy i'm good!!!

•You crave affection but seldom find anyone who understands your nature. We'll have tissues at the visitors concession stand!!

•Physical weaknesses would show in your heart and mind. I would have to add the football field after Crosby beats Dayton and personal hygiene - We'll probably have to quarantine the visitors side for a few weeks!!!

    PEACE OUT!!!!Go Cougars

HAHAHAHAHA....Probably could have condensed the list to add more pop.   Not bad grasshopper.

  2. Dayton fans need to quit whining.  So much complaining about who needs to play where.  Kind of silly.  You have a qb that's taking his first varsity snaps against two very good programs and all of a sudden the sky is falling.  Patience is a virtue.  Give the kids some time and let them develop. Scrimmages are for trying different players at different positions and getting reps in.  I'm glad Dayton didn't schedule powder puff opponents at the beginning of the season.  I would rather see a team struggle early on against solid competition and shine during district than fool everyone at the start and crumble later.

    Rant over.

Not sure about the Bronco's this year, but this Dayton fan seems optimistic

How are the Broncos looking this year?  The receivers/db's should be pretty stout.  Seems like there will be some turnover on the o/d lines. Any players you are looking forward to watching this season?
Nope ;D

Is this the part where i say i look forward to watching your girlfriend cook me breakfast?

It's like riding a bike, you never forget how talk a little bit of smack.

I know you're not supposed to air your laundry on a public forum, but I have a problem I need to address. I need as many opinions as can be had on some recently disturbing pre-game developments for which I have been carrying this burden. Being a little superstitious about football it has always been my policy to do a few things for good luck. At the beginning of the playoffs I always wear long drawers under my britches for every playoff game. It means a lot to me. As usual before the Ned/Dayton game I donned my long drawers under my sweat pants. We all know Ned won that game and I had a really good time. When I got home after the game the weather had warmed and I decided to take my long drawers off. When I removed my sweats I was kinda surprised to see that in my excitement getting ready for the game my long drawers had somehow been put on backwards. I shrugged it off as part of getting older and giggled a little. Never thought about it again. Last Friday I was really excited getting ready to go see the Ned/Connally game. I put on my clothes (long drawers included) and took off to Houston. Ned won and I really enjoyed myself again. After we got home and I started getting ready for bed and removed a couple layers of clothes I was stunned. My long drawers were on backwards again! All this was totally unintentional. Now I have a not-so-large problem. WHAT DO I DO? Should I put my long drawers on backwards for the Ned/Dawson game or what? It seems to have worked so far, and I've always believed if it isn't broke don't fix it. At the same time what if we have an accident and go to a hospital? Would the people at the hospital judge me for having my long drawers on backwards? They might ask; Has this man been downtown-Montrose maybe? Should I wear a hazmat suit to work on him? You can understand I'm pretty upset about all this. I need opinions fast. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Wear them backwards.  If your worried about the opinion of emergency personnel, you could always write "lucky long johns, have to wear backwards, superstitious...Did we win?" in the band.
  6. For the past few years Thanksgiving has been pretty sweet.  Eat some turkey, watch some football, go to sleep, wake up after Thanksgiving and meet your friends that you haven't seen for a year at the Broncos playoff game.  This one and done stuff has seriously impacted my social schedule.  To top it off, I keep checking the message board out of habit only to be reminded that it's basketball season in Dayton.  Oh well, happy turkey day everyone.  Gobble, gobble.

I say keep listening to Coug 14 --- NED only has Hopkins to worry about on O.
believe me.... No one from dayton listens to cougar14
You probably should have for the SC game, I told you if you keep running those same three plays you're going to get your teeth kicked in. You should also listen when I tell you Hancock is no Stewart. Hopkins is 41.3% of the total Ned offense, which would be around half if he played during the ends of games. Your qb is averaging 123 per game passing and has 11tds with 6 picks. Shaw is averaging 39.5 yards per game on 2.8 receptions, I know he can get behind you though. I'm just trying to figure what else you have on O besides Hopkins? Y'all struggle to gain 300 yards a lot of times. I could be missing something though.
Wow.  I agree with a Cougar?  My entire worldview must now be reconsidered.

On Hancock, granted he's no Stewart, but no one expected him to be.  This is his second year at the helm and he's won more times than not.  The playoff streak is still alive and 9-1 isn't bad.
