Did WB really schedule MHS for Homecoming??
SFA85 replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I just hope the former Forest Park doesn't have half the team out walking with the Dutches. Central made that mistake and almost paid for it.... -

Stopped the first attempt, gave up the winning score on the second....
You said we are 2-5 because we cannot stop the run, which you wrong. We are 2-5 because we give up big plays (and injuries). You are correct to say we could not stop a running play from 2, because it happen.
Nederland cannot consistantly stop the run. Whether it's a 30 yard big play or runs of 5 yards during a drive, Nederland cannot, have not, stopped the run on a consistant basis. 2-5 teams don't lead the district in rushing defense. More often, they are at the bottom statistically speaking....

One other observation. I thought that the Central players who were involved in the Homecoming activities at half time may have had some distractions or maybe disadvantages by not being in the field house to hear all of the half time adjustments, etc.
That's the dumbest specticle I've seen in 30 years of watching/playing football. There would be no way in heck I'd have anybody from the team participating in homecoming. I was saying that the whole second half, Central would lose based on that and a big fat F for the stupid play calling in the 2nd half....
You know a lot of footbal SFA and usually have pretty insightful comments on the game itself. Realizing that what you're saying about the playcalling and halftime festivities is on target... give me something about the game? What did you see from the kids on the field who battled it out? Give us your game notes... and we've already got your thoughts on the playcalling. You don't have to defend your prediction that the game would be more like the 63-0 arse whippin, hey based on the previous games from both teams, that may have been a reasonable thought on your part... but now you've seen both teams, give us the real scoop.
Whenever Central ran the ball between the tackles, they were more consistant. #15 showed signs of wearing down so they should've stuck with #21. Everytime Central tries to be cute on offense, the struggle. Nederland is 2-5 for a reason and it's their inablitily to stop the run going on 8 seasons......

I met Sgt. Very nice guy so ease up on him '87. He'll eventually show up....

Play calling has to improve. If it's @the Black Pearl, then Central in a squeaker. @the Butch, Central by 10....

PAM is home Central because of kids and friends teaching there Ozen--Historical significants of Hebert being closed when I was in the 10th grade Yates, Madison, North Forest(Forest Brook), Carter and Trinity. I shouldn't have to explain who I tend to speak positively, but I guess in this ADD world, I have to repeat myself over and over again....

I just hope Central doesn't play down to the competition being Nederland is 2-5. I'm leaning more toward a 42-7 type butt whippin' simular to that 63-0 arse handing of a couple of seasons back......
Sounds like you might be worried SFA, you had to put a disclaimer in saying you hope they dont play down to 2-5 team. The dogs are a little better than their record shows. However, Central appears to very solid this year. No prediction from me, I just hope we limit the big plays on defense and protect the ball and good things can happen.
I thought you were a big Ozen fan anyway, you not jumping the Central bandwagon from a year ago, are you?
Let be clear, in this order: PAM, Central(kids go there) Ozen. Period. Yates in Houston, Carter and Trinity in the DFW.

They get it put on them by PAM and WB back to back. Everybody on this board except for me and other Central fans, had them buried. The big argument was Ozen was better because they played PAM and WB better. They beat Ball, blow out Ozen, and knock out 2 undefeated teams in consecative weeks. Recepee for a letdown? Sure. But a Nederland win with all that turnmoil, and low numbers? Not likely....

This is where Coach Harrison earns his money. After a hard loss against NS, can he keep the boys focus and not have a let down against C'view..... -

Don't worry about it. Those outside Real America lack discipline so our opinions don't matter -

Yeah Soulja. We who take your position lack the discipline of the Real Americans.... -

Just merely making an observation. Real Americans tend to cast judgement on those who don't think, look, nor act like them..... -
;) ;D I know what that is a synonym for... That maybe the answer, too!!! Can't stand to see those "No-Disciplines" win!!!!
Are you saying that "no-discipline" is a synonym for not predominantly white? If that's the case, then is the fact that central doesn't get equal respect as other programs an issue of race? Okay, everyone can now acknowledge the elephant in the room.
For years on this board, especially this board, that was the code phrased used for schools that weren't in 'Real America'. Now having experience in playing schools in 'Real America' with also watching football for 30 years, I can say without equivacation, there are undicipline players and or programs in both Americas. It's funny to me, the same kids that get a knock on their discipline, continue to play beyond high school. Also, those in 'Real America' often get the tag of taking 'enhancements' in order to compete with those in Not so Real America. Of course, those of us who hurl those acusations get our postings deleted. So moderators, please delete any posting good or bad using the word 'Discipline'. It's only fair to those in Not-so-Real America.... -
I'll give him credit for not missing handoffs to Ford and that big fullback lol..... He did make some nice throws....
