I don't understand the point you are trying to make with "perversion of spread offenses" could you elaborate?
Yes, the Spread is a perversion. Big olinemen going backward on the snap. No 1,000 yard rushers and when they do get the ball, they go sideways before going forward. Highschool games are now 3+ hours if 2 spread teams are playing........ Plus, the Spread O is personnel centric vs. system centric......

I'm just amazed how Navy and the AFA can run it while being lighter than their opposistion with great success
what channel?
It was on ESPN. Navy had it 4th and goal on the 2, and they ran left on a QB keeper and got stoned. They were running to the right side all night. Also, they missed a FG and had 2 fumbles in the redzone......

With the current perversion of Spread offenses, it was such a delight to watch the Naval Academy go toe to toe with Maryland. They and AFA are always 15-50 less in body weight than their opponents but win at least 7 games per year and lately, they've given Notre Dame all they can stand. Of course, those young men @the Service Academies are cut from a different cloth than their big school counterparts......

Wow what names for schools: PAM, Brook(e) and Alice. ;D ;D ;D Hysterical

AG aka SFA87, orientals??? Come on man please chose a better term like Asian. Anyway, I got some updated numbers from a board trustee on PA'a demos. 40% Hispanic, 46% Black, 13% or so Asian...... Now back on topic: '05, Central was blown out by WB and ended up winning district so I wouldn't bury Central just yet. I'm not impressed by the rest of 204A's competition nor level of play.......
I would have to say that Ozen is definately talented enough to be a playoff team and i truly believe they will. They are getting better each week and thats wut you need to get there. They will shock :o some "Giants" in 20-4A this year. Central I do believe this is not your year! Washington reminds me of Clayton after he took over Coach Brook's Ozen playoff team. He rode Brook's team to the playoffs the first year. After the first year it was his turn to win and he couldnt do it. Same thing may be happening in Central's camp. Stowers set Washington up nicely. Now its his turn and they suck so far. :'(
All they have to do is get in the I-formation and stay there. Let the young QB hand off to Heard(sp) and company instead of going shotgun. I knew this would happened after all the buzz from the Friendswood game. That kid and other was believing his own hype....
Vidor is tricky cause you dont know which team will show up.
The Texas High OT lost must've taken the starch out of the Pirates or BC is that good. I dunno but I don't think anybody in 20 4A who can come within 14 points of either PAM or WB....

They will both have to improve a bunch to even compete for the 3rd and 4th spot's.
As compared to whom? I saw PN-G against PAM and they look a step slower than last year. Ned's broken up @the skill spots. Not impressed with who LC-M and Livingston have played so far so, again that game maybe for 1st...
Well, since we are throwing MAYBE's out there, then these two MAYBE battling for last place. ;)
Vidor has that on lock.... lol

I'm encourage for both programs. For PA for jumping on Ozen early and having more than 1 kid with decent stats both running and passing and for Ozen for not giving up and Coach Nelly having the decency to put in a backup center after all those bad snaps. I hope to see both teams week 11..... IMO, Central and Ozen both can make the playoffs. Central just needs to get in the I-formation and stay there. Ozen needs to continue to improve on offense and probably stay with the bigger running back and let Lil Sullivan return kicks. -

Wow......................... -
Central kills itself by switching to a cute offense despite what worked in the pass. They need to get back to the I-formation and get back in a hurry.... WB is not the #7 team in the state. They will get exposed by downhill running teams since they're tall but skinny along the defensive front. From here on out WB fans, the meat of your schedule will expose the flaws....

North Forest won last night.....

Barnes and the other recent hire on defense made the Titans more agressive on D. You may catch a pass on the DB's but you get tackled right there. No YAC so far in a scrimmage and 1 game. They have the potential to go into district 5-0 if they get passed Aldine High.... Again, good hires on defense plus good work during the summer....

Could it be in the age of Spread O's, that Wing T/Slot T Vidor runs just keeps them in games against teams that only have a week to prepare? By no means am I discounting the tremendous effort by the Pirates

Another commentary on the naming of BISD stadium

I see my earlier comment was erased..... WRS has a middle school named after him..... As I've said before, CBT isn't the only stadium complex named after a sitting Superintendant..... -
