They may have Central ranked 4th based on them not having spring practice...... PN-G does return a 1000 yard+ rusher but I saw what they had behind the starters when they scrimmaged PA and it was like night and day as far as footspeed and quickness..... I dunno, I tend to give the edge to the teams with returning QB's so I'll go with Livingston, Central the PN-G because of the running game.....

Don't let anyone fool you. I've been through the good, the bad, and the good again, of West Brook. It was quite the opposite. Butch's hands were in the creation of NEW HEBERT, which sent West Brook to the Friday night grave yard you speak of. It was clear, IMO, the intent was to have Ozen be superior in athletics (football and basketball). "With all due Respect" 1) Ozen barley started making the playoffs much less stop + 2) the slow exudes that had begun combined with + 3) Stump and his QB .......=brought instant and maintained success. And I said "With all due Respect."............LOL Just to add I'm a huge David Green fan!!!!
That's how it was when 'Old Hebert' was opened. Forest Park didn't win squat in nothing.....
Well, good thing, I could care less about the Forest Park era.... I'm from the South Park/West Brook era which wld be where the majority of those 'New Hebert' recruits would be coming from now a days........ ;) Loved being around Arthur Lewis!!! Great guy!!
That's just it, you young people have the historical attention span of a gnat. SP wasn't all that great either. 19 out of 22 starters were from Hebert the first year they opened up which helped them win state in football. FP/SP not so much....

Is WO-S football going to the I-formation the right move?
SFA85 replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yep. WO-S can beat any team around here with the spread but they've been losing to schools that run right at them. This isn't anything new. When they would play Ozen, the times they would lose is when Ozen ran right at them. Better to take a 8 yard gain going straight, than to take a 3 yard loss going wide. Besides, practicing against the I makes you tougher defensively. So when they meet a Coldspring or a Kirbyville, they are more solid up the middle of the defense -
Weak Brooke been recruiting for years IMO :D Remember when WB was getting their rears handed to them on a platter and Ozen was making playoffs season after season? once Ozen stopped making the playoffs what happened? Oh, all of a sudden WB creeps up from the grave and became relevant again. hmmmmmm...... ;) I think Butch had a hand in it. LOL
This happened to Butch's dismay. They keep letting kids transfer based on the schools performance on that test. But instead of the kids that are struggling, they let the kids that are passing transfer not to mention they are 2 elementaries that are zoned to Marshall and Vincent that lie in the Pear. Doesn't make sense to me. Plus, Ozen went through a period of revolving coaches. While Central had the same thing, Central kept winning and Ozen doesn't....

WO-S Names Offensive and Defensive Coordinators
Pierce will run the 50. From what I've been able to find out, Hodges runs a bunch out of the "I". Looks like he runs about 70% of the time.
It would be nice to see WO-S more physical(I-formation)....... -

Ozen enrollment dropping? 3A a possibility?
SFA85 replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Should have spent the money years ago to expand and renovate instead of create a 3rd high school. We would now have two pretty dominate 5A schools in Beaumont. D3, nothing against Ozen, just remember the days when Central and West Brook games REALLY meant something. Now it's too diluted. SFA, yea I remember the Greenies, Cougars, Buffaloes, etc.
Been in BMT since '91. WB had it all, Central had nothing and their ADM was dropping since day 1(per Dave Campbell Football) and WB dominated the Beaumont Bowl also. I think Central may have won 2 before Ozen opened. All the kids in NW Beaumont that were suppose to go to Central based on the old French AZ, started going to WB. Also, Kelly was pretty stout back then also. Besides, before the Teabaggers of the WestEnd began crying, CBT was a hero when he took BISD to neightborhood schools..... -

Man you guys are so short sided. At one time BMT had 6 public hs and 2 ISD's....... Anyway, quit with all the transfers from the Pear to WB and Ozen will stay 4A..... -

Will WO-S and LC-M ever consolidate??
SFA85 replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Now back on topic. Wilmer-Hutchins ISD was dissolved into Dallas due to years of financial mismanagement to the point of only 30 percent of their buildings could be used. I'm sure somebody will fact check me but I'm sure that's what led to their demise.... -
