Maybe he wouldn't run up the score but I have seen some pretty lopsided scores posted by Newton through the years!

Unfortunately onesided games happen, sometimes after the 1st string is pulled .... the backups find themselves on the field with a rare opportunity to play and they want to shine too.

i had respect for the man until he dogged our team
You'll find that Coach Barbay doesn't Dog anyone's team ..... He does however voice His Honest Opinion and won't sugarcoat that opinion for the sake of somebodies tender feelings. If You're Honest with Yourself about Your team; You'll see that whatever the Coach said about Your team is pretty accurate. Telling people what they need to hear is not only more honest, it's more likely to help them improve than telling them the lies that they want to hear. Ask Your Coach ..... He'll tell You the same thing. u_dnt_kno_squat.

I think that could be a good game....I know that it would be a ticket I would buy. Hopefully We'll get to have that matchup and may the best Eagles Win ( the Newton Eagles of Course ). Good Luck To the Tatum Eagles this Season.

"From what I hear they had a good scrimmage against Newton"

It was good if you consider they walked all over Newton.
If You heard that Coldspring walked all Over Newton, You Heard Wrong. It was a pretty even affair until the latter part of the scrimmage when the Eagles Conditioning started to come to the forefront. Coldspring is a solid team with good talented players and will in my opinion only improve with more practice. Anyone taking Coldspring lightly could be sorry.

Apparently you aren't able to recognize a lighthearted jab at some of the "over the top" Kirbyville posters. Think, man, think.  ::)

  7. With 3 teams going to the playoffs from each district, it means there will be 48 teams playing in each division. That means there will be 24 games in the first round, 12 games in the second round, 6 games in the third round, and 3 games in the fourth round. Doesn't that mean that someone gets a "Bye" in the next round? How is that going to work? 4 Regions with 4 Districts with 3 Playoff Teams each in Division 1 and in Division 2, 48 Teams total in each division...What am I missing? I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP A SIMPLE MINDED NEWTON FAN FIGURE OUT WHAT I'M NOT SEEING HERE. If there is going to be a "Bye"
who gets it? If no "Bye" then Please enlighten Me.

Hate to say it but these games will not prepare you for Newton Woodville EC Anahuac, need to play some competition that will get you ready for district play..
I'd say scheduling with the chance to get a couple or more wins under your belt sounds like a pretty good idea to me.
A weak pre-district schedule might get You a few Cheap Wins, but it won't help to prep for the likes of E.C., Anahuac, Woodville, Buna and Newton. You need to test Yourself against tough competion in order to have a shot at winning in district play, where the wins mean something.JMAO

D-field coach quoted after game saying "well we haven't played anyone good yet..."
Just to be clear.... Coach Bowman did not say that and would never say that...  Buc, I know you are just joking about what Coach Barbay has said in the past, but I don't want someone to get the wrong idea.  Bowman is not like that.

Both teams played with class and respect.  Clean game for the most part.  Good season Eagles.. Nothing to be ashamed of.  Daingerfield is good.  Real good.  I am very proud of the Tigers.
Thank You FRANKSNBEANS for posting the truth about Coach Bowman's statement. As You can tell bucoff2010 will not let the truth get in the way of a Coach Barbay Slam Job. Go Defend Your Title.....Good Luck Daingerfield Tigers.

Some of the Newton players I talked to yesterday acted a little worried about Dfield, acting like they were not sure if they would win or not. That really worries me because Newton teams in the past allways played with alot of confidence. My msg to the players is not to worry about saturday, play Newton football and have fun.

P.S. Play every game like its the last football game u will ever play, Leave it all on the field. I never live in regret.
Why don't You do the Eagles a favor and not post anything that the You hear from the Players on an open forum, For The Whole World To Read. Whose side are You on?
Newtonjb..I may be butting in,but I don't think he mean it that way...I think JC is just concerned that all the hype about the game is having affect on the players,And some time it can...But if I know Coach Barbay,He's fought way to many battles and is too smart to let that beat them..Come Game Day Newton will be ready..I'd almost bet the farm on it...JMO..

                                                         "GO EAGLES"
My Concern is for the players reading the things that they have said, to a fan, showing up in one of these posts. They need to feel comfortable that what they say won't come back to haunt them online, otherwise they may decide not to trust us enough to talk at all.
