1.
Even though last year's team was very good, this team is better for a few reasons: this team has more scorers than last year. Tristan Thomas is WAY better than Dexter Pittman, and Jordan Hamilton is unstoppable.  J Brown has been fantastic this year, and has cut his turnovers way down.  Corey Joseph also scores in bunches. Defense: the horns' D was good last year, but they're one of the best in the nation this year.  Balbay and Brown lock down opposing point guards, Hamilton shuts down the wings, and Thomas and Gary Johnson own the paint.  The Morris twins had to work their butts off today to COMBINE for 26 points and 12 boards on only 8-24 shooting. Composure: This team was able to come back from as deep as a 15-point deficit, and a 12-point halftime deficit to win against what many people feel is the best team in the country.  Last year's team would've folded like a lawnchair.  This team IS good enough to win a national championship, because they can beat ANYONE in the country. 2.
HJ record vs classification not including district: 5A          0-0 4A          8-3 (Beat Calhoun twice, Greg-Port., Dayton, Lumberton, LCM, Corsicana, Kingsville, Lost to                              Nederland, Central and LCM) 3A          2-0 (Lufkin Hudson and Aransas Pass) 2A          8-0 (Beat NW, Kountze, Hitchcock, Anahuac, Luling, EC twice and Tatum) 1A          2-1 (Beat Evadale and Cayuga by 19, lost to Cayuga by 1) Private    2-0 (Kelly and Legacy) 11 games in 4A and 15 in 3A and lower.  And I can promise each and every team that HJ played in 3A or lower will make the playoffs with the exception of maybe Luling. Hardly and weak schedule. ::) ::) ::) ::)
The point I was making was more towards the fact that HJ lost all its games to legit teams this year (Im trying not to disrespect some teams too much) Nederland, Central, and Silsbee... Maybe LCM on a good day  ;) Like I said, I will stop the hate on HJ if they beat Silsbee and/or make it back to play Silsbee for a 3rd time.. Until then, I wont be proven otherwise because there is no evidence on the schedule
 3.

I hope HJ plays Nederland for a playoff warm-up game-- if it's not Silsbee, of course.
Not likely to happen with Nederland. 5A and 4A take four teams to the playoffs, no bye in the playoffs. They all, including district champ, play in the first round. Usually only teams with a bye will schedule a warm up game.
Nederland might get a warm-up game since the game against Humble Christian Life got cancelled

So what? I am inclined to think that if WOS pulled off the upset tonight, Dog would have better class.
To be honest, it is people like Nash that really make others not want to like HJ..  ;) I thought that WOS would come out fired and up and be running and gunning on HJ.. Obviously I was wrong, and it looks like HJ played with alot of emotion after the loss to Silsbee and maybe had something to prove about their team.. Sometimes you pick right.. and sometimes you dont..
Agree 100%  ;D
Of course, the fact that HJ keeps rolling along may also contribute to this feeling, eh?  ;)
Playing those kinds of teams?  ::) They are just "rolling along", hitting the the occasional Silsbee speed bump along the way, or any other legit team they play (like earlier before district)  :D
Wait you picked one of "THOSE KINDS OF TEAMS" to beat HJ last night in WOS.......and how did that turn out???? Listen the district that Nederland is in is not that much better.  Nederland is the cream of the crop this year and Ozen (down year), Central, LCM and then 4 teams that are pathetic at best in Livingston, Vidor, PNG and Lumberton.  So don't talk about competition!!!!!
I didnt say WOS was one of those teams..  ??? I said they are good 11-12 team and dont take them lightly.. I know Nederland is on top right now, but go look where they played before District.. Has HJ played in an actual tournament to challenge them? Why doesnt HJ go to the YMBL? How about take on some 4A and 5A teams? I agree that we dont play in a top-to-bottom stacked district, but Ned challenged itself before district to better themselves.. HJ record is sky high now because they hit the soft part of their schedule. What was going on earlier this season? Want to still say it wasw injuries? Or key people not back yet for some reason? They lost because those teams were better and out-played them, but since they are rolling in district, no HJ person wants to remember that. Same can be said about Nederland. They lost quite their games because the other team outplayed them and a few times because Nederland blew the lead. I wont comment anymore about HJ if they beat Silsbee. I promise on that one.  ;)

 7.
You said this; ". I just want people to wake up and realize that HJ is not a top notch team THIS year and will not reach the normal expectations. You are just strangely tying to find anything and everything on people huh?  :D You could just send me an inbox you know, but since you made it thread, I will talk on here instead.. At least Im about as special to you on this board as BlueDove3 is  ;D ;D :D Thanks for thinking about me and remembering
 8. Oh come on.. You win some.. you lose some.. Did everybody write them off because they lost on the road in ACC play?  ::) Im not a Huge Duke fan, but I love watching them play.. A big man would be great and really make them a dominant force to compete against, but they have great chemistry. Best basketball team in the country still because of defense and experience on the floor.. Cant ask for better players at their position than N. Smith and K. Singler  ;D
 9. They key to the game will be Balbay and Brown playing great defense on Selby. Containing those Morris twins is easier when Kansas doesnt have a legit threat to beat them outside. This is gonna be a fun game to watch. Maybe we can see a buzz-beater win for Texas!  ;D :D
 10. Dont sleep on WOS.. They can win if HJ doesnt come out from the start and take control
 11. That was refreshing to watch  :D ;D Good ol' fashin butt whoopin
 12. I really dont remember the last time Central missed the playoffs.. ???  I think they will pull it together and beat the teams they are suppose to beat. After that, It gets really interesting.. I thought from the start of the season it would be Ned, Central, Ozen, and LCM.. Im staying with that pick, but its wide open..
 13.
I do know one thing.  In the second  half of district, I do know that both the # 1 and 2 teams in this district will have 2 more losses...
::)  :-X
 14. WOS is a good 11-12 team and can give teams fits that want to start a track meet on the court.. Athletic teams always have a chance when they start hitting shots from outside.. Opens up everything
 15. I think UT is going to love having Lewis's skill set. He will do much better in an actual offensive system, instead of 5-on-5 pick-up game style  :D
 16. UT is going to have to help his shot selection
 17. This should be an awesome game! Julian Lewis for La Marque is an absolute beast. Mike Evans from Ball is going to need to play a very efficient game to keep up with the scoring of Lewis. I think La Marque wins, but I wouldn't be surprised if this goes into OT
 18.
So just a curious question and no backdooring you here........... Can HJ beat Nederland now????
If Hj comes out on fire and shoots the lights out of the gym, and found a way to deal with the front court of Ned, then maybe they would have a chance. But to be honest, and I may be biased, but I dont think anybody can handle the two big guys, Forney and Smith, for an entire game. And when you get Cunningham knocking down the outside shot, Nederland is really hard to defend, especially for teams in this area. But to answer you question, yes. Any team can beat anybody given the most opportunities, but I think Ned has the edge in game if they played again.  ;)
HJ can compete with Silsbee on any given night ;) Im not that stupid to truely believe that they couldnt compete... Now, about the winning part, I clearly have made it known that HJ wont beat Silsbee
