1. BH 35  North Forest 7. If the Hill holds on to  the ball, if not then BH 21 North Forest 14
2. It will be interesting to play somone that we don't know much about. Also interesting to see how the new style offense is gonna work in a real game. I gotta back the Blue BH 24 Sante Fe 17
3. BH will finish 3rd at worst.
4. Word is right now there will be no spring game just intersquad scrimmages on the Saturday practices.
5. Price will do it right. First he will get to know and evualuate the current staff at HF and in time he will make the changes that are needed. He will be the one that makes the decissions, not the superintendent!!!!
6. You are incorrect, the 2 that are in the front running are not playing basbell. The 2 that you are talking about will also get a legite shot when their baseball season is over.
7. Yes it is confirmed, The Hill will be running the MultiBone offense next year. It will be a different style of football & hopefully the coaches and kids can adjust and be successful with it.
8. The QB spot is up for grabs, I hear there there is a senior to be and two juniors  to be that are strong contendors. I am sure the younger kid will get a fare shot but the new style offense does not fit him as well as the others.
9. I agree with you bigdaddy he dosen't know Flannigan at all cause he is a respectable coach and not one to spout off.
10. Hey GCMPat if there is  an old tunnell (and there isin't) then its been in moth ball storage for at least 15years and probably has so many holes that only you could keep it blown up with all the hot air you blowing cause you are full of it. I repeat a brand new one  has just been ordered.
11. The tunnell has already been purchased. You probably can see it on graduation night, the seniors are thinking about walking through it for the graduation night.
12. Good luck to Price and HF. Ya'll got a good one, and mark my word he will turn your program around.
13. Just heard Mike Leach from Texas Tech will be the new AD. One of the perks of his contract is that he will be able to lock the Supt or any board member in a closet at his discression!
14. I hope the next AD can keep these numbers up.... ??? ??? ???
15. Eagles gridders soar to academic awards By Dave Rogers The Baytown Sun Published December 10, 2009 Seven Barbers Hill football players stood up Monday night at the school’s Fall Sports Banquet when it came time to recognize those picked to the All-District 19-4A first and second team for 2009. That was by far the fewest players from any of the district’s four teams that went to the playoffs who were judged among the league’s elite by 19-4A’s eight head coaches. But the Eagles stood head and shoulders above the rest of the playoff squads when it came time to celebrate achievers of a different – and not nearly as subjective – kind. Twenty-six of the Eagles’ 44 football players stood and were saluted for making the District 19-4A Academic All-District team. That’s 59 percent of the players suiting up for the Eagles – nearly six of every 10 – who achieved the standard of a 90 average in their core courses over a six-week period. “That’s the largest number that I can remember,” said Don Price, Barbers Hill’s outgoing athletic director and head football coach. “And eight of those have met the requirements for the all-state academic team, too.” Not every UIL athletic district chooses to salute athletes for academic honors as well as on-the-field accomplishments, but Price said that as long as he can recall, Barbers Hill has been in a UIL district that did. “We’ve been doing it even when we were in a 3A district,” he said. Barbers Hill has always been at or near the head of every district it has competed in for the number of academic all-district representatives. “We have pretty good students,” Price said, “And we always conduct study halls Monday and Tuesday before practice to give kids an opportunity to do their homework or go to their teachers for help. “We don’t practice after school on Thursdays, so they can go see their teachers. We have to do it, because we don’t want to lose anyone to grades. “We’ve always had a very cooperative faculty.” In volleyball, in which the all-district team was announced last month, Barbers Hill had seven girls earn academic all-district honors compared to eight for Crosby and a district-high nine for Kingwood Park. Kingwood Park actually had the most football players from 19-4A earn academic all-district honors with 29. After Barbers Hill with 26, Crosby was next with 15 and Goose Creek Memorial next with 10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
16. BH Eagles honor team leaders at banquet By Dave Rogers The Baytown Sun Published December 9, 2009 MONT BELVIEU — Matthew Viverette combined to pass and run for nearly 3,000 yards in leading Barbers Hill’s football team to the playoffs this fall. The senior quarterback was named his team’s Most Valuable Player at the Barbers Hill Fall Sports Banquet Monday night. Barbers Hill teams advanced past district competition in all five fall sports for 2009 — football, volleyball, boys and girls cross country and team tennis. The football, volleyball and cross country teams were honored at the banquet held at the Barbers Hill High School cafeteria. Tennis players, who also compete in a spring season, will be honored at the Spring Sports Banquet. Also honored at the banquet were the school’s cheerleaders and student trainers and managers. The Eagles volleyball team finished second in District 19-4A. Kirsten Terry won the Queen of the Hill award for coach John Leonard’s team and Morgan Anderson took home the Dare to Soar award. Barbers Hill’s girls finished second in the 19-4A cross country team standings, while the Eagle boys went to regional as the district’s third-place team. The Lady Eagles girls, led by Larissa Rios, finished fifth in the regional meet, missing a trip to state by two places. Rios was named MVP for the girls team and Brandon Rivera was named MVP for the boys. MacKenzie Daniels won the Leadership Award. The awards for the football players were saved for last and presented by Eagles assistant coaches. Sophomore linebacker Ryan Reuter was named Outstanding Defensive Player by defensive coordinator Bruce Taylor. Senior receiver Carter Smith was named Outstanding Offensive Player by offensive coordinator Dwayne Nunez. Senior linebacker Randall Adlong, who could not attend, was proclaimed the winner of the Fighting Heart award by Stephen Owens and Jackie Byrd presented senior center Chris Fechner the Kenneth Skidmore Courage award. Fechner and Smith presented a gift from the players to outgoing head coach and athletic director Don Price, which drew a standing ovation and individual thank-yous from the players as the evening’s activities ended. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looks like Price had the respect from his players....

19. HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS Price relieved at Barbers Hill By JASON MCDANIEL CHRONICLE CORRESPONDENT Dec. 1, 2009, 1:08PM Share  Print Share Del.icio.usDiggTwitterYahoo! BuzzFacebookStumbleUpon Resources PRICE FILE • Who: Don Price • What: After 11 seasons as head football coach/athletic director, Don Price is out at Barbers Hill. Price went 99-35 at Barber Hill and is 105-58-1 for his career. • Why: Price said no real reason was given for the move, other than Superintendent Greg Poole told him the Barbers Hill ISD school board was were ready to make a change. • What next: The 57-year-old plans to look for a new head coaching job once his buyout is official. His last day at Barbers Hill is Dec. 31. Don Price received the word just before Halloween weekend — after 11 seasons as head football coach/athletic director at Barbers Hill, the school was ready to go in a different direction. Price said he was approached by Barbers Hill ISD Superintendent Greg Poole with the news that the school board wanted to make a change. He told his players and coaches after their bi-district playoff loss to Port Neches-Groves, and the school district made the decision official when it announced on Nov. 18 that Price would be leaving. “It's one of those things that you're depressed about it when it happens, because when you're told (Poole) wants to make a change and no one on the school board is backing you, it's time to move on,” Price said. Price and the school district were working on a buyout last week. He was under contract through next school year. Instead he'll be in his office until his final day at Barbers Hill on Dec. 31. The Eagles finished 5-6 this season. They opened District 19-4A with three consecutive wins, then dropped three straight before rallying with a win against North Forest to qualify for the playoffs. “We started six sophomores,” Price said. “We were a young football team, and I'm real proud of them. They pretty much played up to their potential. “We had a few injuries and things — which every school has, there's no excuses — but if you want to know how we played the best thing to do is to talk to Jerry Stewart at Dayton or Kevin Flanigan at Crosby, and I'll go with whatever they say.” They'd say his team was still tough. District 19-4A's last two champions just edged out the Eagles in their meetings this season, with Dayton winning 24-21 and Crosby claiming a 21-16 victory. Price leaves Barbers Hill with a 99-35 record. He's 105-58-1 for his career, having reached the 100-win plateau with a 48-10 win over Kingwood Park last year, when the Eagles didn't make the playoffs. “It's one of those milestones as a head coach and I guess there's some gratification there, but the thing you have to understand is there are a lot of things that go into that,” Price said. “There are a lot of other people that help accomplish those types of things. “I'm indebted to a great staff and we've always had hard-working kids here. And I'll say this, the parents by and large have allowed us to train their kids. I've never had anybody complain about, ‘Hey, you worked my kid too hard.'” This fall the school remained competitive throughout its athletic programs under the longtime AD. The boys and girls cross country teams went to the regional meet, the tennis team qualified for regionals and the volleyball and football teams made the playoffs. “That's not a bad fall,” Price said. “I don't know how many schools around us can say that about all their sports, and we're No. 8 in enrollment in our district.” The 57-year-old led the Eagles to five perfect regular seasons by says his fondest memory comes from the 2006-07 school year. “It was our first year going into 4A, we were coming up from 3A and you hear all the things, ‘Well they're not going to be any good,' and we go 10-1 (and win an undefeated District 21-4A title),” Price said. “We had an enrollment then of about 960 kids, and out of the 15 sports we had, boys and girls, we were district champions in 14 of them that year.” Despite the setback, Price says he has no intentions of retiring just yet. “There's no doubt about it, this is going to be a transition for me,” he said. “I'm going to try to get another (head coaching) job, test the market and see if somebody wants me to work. “I wish Barbers Hill all the luck. I really, really enjoyed the kids and the staff here. There is a very, very good staff as far as teachers and coaches here.”
20.

I think Barbers Hill should look for the following in their new head coach/athletic director: 1)   A proven winner as a football coach at least 80% lifetime winning percentage as a head coach 2)  Someone who has shown they can win over time not just one or two years (at least 100 wins as a head coach) 3)  Someone who has consistently taken his football teams to the playoffs (75% of the time) 4)  Someone who has made the playoffs at the 4A level with a small enrollment (50% in the playoffs and a district championship once in 4 years would be great) 5)  Someone who has been an athletic director and had success in all other sports also (multiple district championships in cross-country, volleyball, basketball, baseball, track, tennis, and golf) 6)  A good Christian man with high morals and values 7)  Someone who can direct the district in building projects as needed 8)  Someone who can oversee various events such as district track and cross-country meets, golf tournaments, playoff games, etc. with a high level of professionalism and knowledge to ensure they are handled properly 9)  Someone well respected by area coaches and athletic directors Does anyone think Barbers Hill will be able to find this person?  You just allowed a small group of parents and spineless administrators run him off.  Morons!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Very good post Old Sarge, I agree 100%. Trucked u are also correct, this sup & his chronies don't have a very good track record of new hires.
21. You can now vote every hour not once per day ;D ;D ;D
22. I don't think so. I wouldn't waste my time or money to witness that. I think I will be watching a rematch with BH & PNG.
