  3. Pineland vs Lovelady Friday at 6 at Lufkin Central Brookeland vs Kopperl Friday at 6 at Oakwood
  4. Dr Hoops, Had to miss it but my wife kept me updated.. Hope the Wildcats can get on a good roll. Have you heard where the game will be. My son thought Palestine..
  5. Dr Hoops I think that is what the score was.. I had predicted 12 points so i wasn't far off. Hoped the game helped both teams prepare for the games tonight. I won't be able to make it to Centerville, I get off too late.. If you are there,, give some updates. I may try to go to Pineland's game if i can figure out where they are playing, If not i may go to Kirbyville for the double header.. I heard that Hemphill's girls are playing the late game in Centerville. Bet that will be good.
  6. 643 what does your dog do when he fetches you!!! Just kidding. Made me think of my old dog, you could put a biscuit on his nose and he would hold it, then throw the dummy into the pond and give him the go , he would drop the biscuit hit the water and bring the dummy to heel, the whole time looking over at the biscuit. He usually got two biscuits after that!!!!!!!! Those were great times!!! Never could replace him...
  7. Hoops, should be a good warm up game... They are alot like the wildcats, fast and are either hot or cold...Won't make any predictions (as i back both teams) but would like it to be a playoff atmosphere that both teams can get experience that will help them in the next few weeks. I can't be there but will try to check on the score... Good Luck to Coach Henson on the Wildcats and to Coach Jeff and the Tigers... Represent Sabine CO...cause the stingers aren't!!! (Just had to add that!!!!!!!)))
  8. Congrats to Coach Henson and the wildcats... take it to them in the warm up game... ;D Hate i'll have to miss it....
  9. Will be making a trip to Crystal beach the 1st weekend in March... We will be trying to do some boat fishing in the Bay... Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Last summer was our first beach fishing experience and i think that we are now hooked..PM me if you would like. By the way the crappie keep turning on and off at the North end of Rayburn.. They seems to only bite when i am at work... Have heard a few good reports at the Gin Shed but have been lock jawed at the bridge..
  10. I don't think that i would go if i couldn't sit behind the scores table!! ;D
  11. That is comforting!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that it will be a good game with a closer outcome.. I know that it is a tough atmosphere to be in but it should help them to get ready for the playoffs.
  12. Copied from East Texas Sports: Well Catman,,,,, I stand corrected.. Started out with the Wildcats missing 3 or 4 layups to start the game and then went down hill from there!!!!!!!!!!Brookeland were their worst enemy last night. I don't know the stats but i imagine Brookeland shot <20%..while Goodrich was around 80%.. Coach King and Goodrich were the better team and solid across all 5 players.. The big man was swatting it out all night.. But i think that Goodrich is only 10 pts better,,,, not what i saw last night.. Coach Henson will get the Wildcats back on tract.. BucketSitR
  13. Great job Coach Henson and the Wildcats. Way to get back into the game and roll.. The Legget Coach did the best job with what he had. Don't think he could have done much more.  He seems to have a young team. Someone told me he use to play for Goodrich???? Brookeland matched his adjustments and took it to them..... And Cats,,, had new ref's that i had never seen before...  They did a good job, Still alot of fouls on both sides but they were able to keep up with the speed of the game which our usual refs can't even come close too.  Hope Coach Henson is able to get these guys back.. Also Coop... give me a number that i can text scores to and i will try to give you some qtr updates to the Brookeland Home games. Although i may go Goodrich for that one...
  14. Central Heights pitchersigns with Rice University Haley making good on dream Click-2-Listen By KEVIN GORE The Daily Sentinel Tuesday, November 27, 2007 A Central Heights senior baseball player took a big step toward his future in baseball by signing with a Texas school known for winning championships. Trey Haley, a hard-throwing pitcher in his first year of school at Central Heights, recently signed a national letter of intent with Rice University in Houston. Haley, who pitched the last three years at San Augustine High School before transferring to Central Heights, had a long list of schools he could have signed with, including Texas, LSU, TCU and Arizona State. But the 6-3, 190-pounder was most impressed with Rice because of the school's coaches and tradition. "Coach Wayne Graham had a lot to do with it," he said. "David Pierce, their pitching coach, recruited me, too. "Rice has been in the College World Series. It is just the best overall school for pitchers. There's no other school like it." Haley was one of 11 recruits, including five pitchers, signed by Rice. "We are all very excited about this class," Graham said in a recent press release. "They are all very talented and athletic with a lot of potential. "I don't think you can ever have too much pitching and (the signing class is) particularly strong up the middle. This class has a chance to be the best class we've had at Rice." While Haley's signing guarantees his future in college, it all could change if he is taken high in next spring's amateur baseball draft. Haley's fastball ranges in the 90 mph range and has topped out at 95 mph. He is ranked ninth among baseball players in Texas by Insideprepbaseball.com. He already has grown accustomed to the pressure related to having a big-time fastball while throwing in front of Major League scouts during his high school career and while playing with elite summer league teams. He pitched in leagues in California and Florida and at an invitational event in Ohio during the summer. "It all depends on how next year goes," Haley said of his draft stock. "I hope to go in the first round, if I pitch good in the spring." Baseball has always been Haley's favorite sport, starting when he was the pitcher on his little league team. "When he was 9 years old, he was missing bats, all day," said his mother, Kathie Haley. "Since T-ball when he was 5 years old, he's always been good at baseball," said his father, Richard Haley. "It's always been his dream. "His favorite team is the Atlanta Braves, because they were always on TV. He said 'one day, I'm going to play for the Atlanta Braves.' They were at our house a few weeks ago, talking with him." Haley has two brothers, Hunter, 13, and Sam, 9, and a sister, Cici, 15.
  15. Nope, I maybe from your neck of the woods.. I just read the post of the PNG/Kelly game below. That is all i know. Looks like they be a man or 3 short. Injuries?? Guess the wildcats will see today. Wish i could be there but have to work.
  16. Way to go Tigers.. Not bad with one day of practice. Get your basketball legs together and you will do fine.
  17. Great job Wildcats.. Start the Zavalla tourney with Kelly at 12:30 Thurs.
  18. I have watched Woden for years, even made the trip to Austin with them... I have not been around much in the last few years but know that they graduated alot of talent last year. I predict that they will be down for a few years.....but then again they are Woden and seem to reload every year. Hope to see them at the Zavalla tourney. It is always a great tourney with some great b-ball. BucketSitR
  19. 48 -43 . Can you say ugly!!! Don't know if the boys were tired after the crosscountry fest against Laneville or what. It was more SLOPPY than a Sloppy Joe without any bread!!! Wildcats got Shelbyville tonight at home. Then maybe they can rest for a day.
  20. game at the Wells tournament. What a barn burner.. Laneville had at least 12 3's and Brookeland only had 2. Let's go Brookeland Wildcats..
  21. Good Job WS Tigers!!!!!!!!!! Way to take care of business. Defense was tough against run..Keep working hard! Oilers gave everything they had... #45 and 21 had no quit in them.... Congrats on a great season. Let's go Tigers!! Good Luck against Grapeland!!
  22. It was a good game... Brookeland was able to hit a few from downtown early and gained a lead that they never gave up. Game stayed between 5 and 10 pts whole game.. BS didn't have the pg play that i am use to seeing but the big boy inside is a baller. also #10 had a good inside game. They will do well. Congrats to Coach Henson and the Brookeland Wildcats. Play hard! BucketSitR
  23. Brookeland turned in 110..... Looks like they move up to BIG 1A. I think the cut there is 100.
