1. Evadale is a warmup game....playoffs do not start till next weekend.
2. The weekend of the 7-8 of May. This weekend will be used for Seeding games and for some districts to finish up. Some teams might also play warmup games this Friday, Saturday or next Tuesday.
3. two bases from time of pitch...third base is where he should end up....mrump1 you can double check me here, but I think I am right.
4. That is kind of a big question...who could probably find your answers if you browse through various threads.
5. Zavalla has a pretty nice field that should hold up to the rain....no gonna be much of a game ...imo.
6. West Sabine at Colmesniel 4pm Varsity only today (4/23/10)
7. West Sabine does not have a home field this year, so even though the game is being played at Colmesniel, West Sabine could be the home. Since they are playing all of their games at the opponents field, they are the home team 1/2 of the time.
8. Zavalla 3 West Sabine 2 Zavalla pitcher had a perfect game thru 5 innings. Great Game
9. Probably a little bit of both, but regulations are continuing to limit the exit velocity that  a bat can generate. They have cranked it down even more in the NCAA for next year. The new standard that they use, BBCOR, is supposed to make the bats behave more like a wooden bat. The new standards go into effect for the 2012 season in high school.
10. Does Vidor charge admission to baseball games? Thinking of taking the family and I did not know if I needed some cash on hand.
11. I think Jasper should be 9-1 in district. They were undefeated in the first round (7-0) and are now 2-1 in the second round. Every team in that district has now played 10 games. They started district on the Tuesday before the 3rd tournament weekend. 3aBaseball.com has he correct district records. Find them here: ]
12. By someone posting "ttt" or anything on a thread, it bumps the thread up to the top of the list. The threads with the most recent replies appear on top....or below the threads that are pinned to the top of the discussion board.
13. You do not see many saves in a game that ends up being a 10 final score.
14. I belive that Jasper and Vidor have player four times this year (tournament games) and split the 4 games. Vidor won when Hester pitched...Jasper won when he did not. The second loss Jasper did not use its top pitchers due to playing harder teams the first week in their district...if i recall, Vidor started off with Central in District so there was no reason to save Hester for the Tuesday game. Jasper needed to save thier #1 for Hudson or Carthage...can't remember which. Now that the games are counting, Jasper is undefeated through one round of District play. If they can get by both Carthage and Hudson on the road next week things will look really good. Vidor has a great picther in Hester, but I think jasper is the better team this year. In a seven game series, I could see Jasper taking it in 6... I have seen both teams a lot this year.
15. i think some of the 1a and 2a schools should be considered. While they might be the Best is SETX, a teams like Evadale, Sabine Pass, and Chester are dominating their competetion. Maybe have two polls...3a and up and 2a and down. Might get a better representation. I agree with taking Huffman and Crosby out do to thier location.
16. I think MrUmp1 will need some more details about the situation here. But there a lot of things that a player or coach can be ejected for and most are umpires judgment.
17. George does do a lot....and not just for South East Texas. He plays a major role for umpires and officials of all other sports throughout the state. I can not wait to see him on the field again.
18. Not sure about this year, but last year Maud was top notch. Their outfield could cover some ground. As for what I have seen so far this year, I would have to say Evadale.
19.

First of all, I'd like to thank this web site and MrUmp1 for providing a great service to the baseball community here in Texas. "Thanks" Say hey, I need a little help here MrUmp1 with giving the "W" to the pitcher who earned the "W". First game of season for our High School team is in a Tourney with a no-inning started after 1:45 min of play. Game goes 6 complete innings. Our team wins 7 - 0. Our Pitcher #1 goes 3 complete innings and leaves with score 3 - 0 and is thrown out of game by HP Umpire in the 4th for arguing called third strke while he is AB. Pitcher #1 gives up: 3 H, 3 BB, 4 K, 0 ER and pitches out of 2 serious jams. Our Pitcher #2 comes in and pitches 3 complete innings. Our team scores 4 more runs for a 7-0 lead. Pitcher #2 gives up: 0 H, 1 BB, 6 K, 0 ER and throws 32 pitches in his 3 IP. Who gets the win?
Pitcher #1 get the win
That is correct. It is rule 9.6.6 in the high school rule book. Kind of confusing. ART. 6 . . . Winning and losing pitchers are determined as follows: a. If the starting pitcher has pitched the first four innings or more and his team is ahead when he is replaced and the team holds the lead for the remainder of the game, he shall be the winning pitcher. b. If a game ends for whatever reason, having gone less than seven innings, then the starting pitcher shall have pitched three or more consecutive innings to be declared the winning pitcher. If the starting pitcher cannot be declared the winning pitcher, and more than one relief pitcher is used, the winning pitcher shall be determined using the following criteria: 1. If the score is tied, it results in the game becoming a new contest so far as judging who is the winning and losing pitcher. 2. If the starting pitcher is removed before having pitched four or more innings and his team is ahead, the official scorer shall determine the winning pitcher to be the relief pitcher who has been the most effective. 3. If the opposition goes ahead, pitchers up to that time in the game cannot be credited with the win. However, if the pitcher pitching subsequently takes and maintains a lead the remainder of the game, said pitcher is credited with the win. 4. Generally the relief pitcher credited with the win is the pitcher when his team takes the lead and holds it for the rest of the game. However, if the relief pitcher pitches only a short while or not effectively and a succeeding relief pitcher replaces him and does better work in keeping the lead, the latter shall be granted the win. c. If a pitcher is removed for a pinch-hitter or a pinch-runner, the runs scored by his team during the inning of his removal are to be credited to his benefit to decide the pitcher of record. d. The starting pitcher shall be charged with the loss when he is replaced and his team is behind or falls behind because of runs assessed to him after being replaced and his team does not subsequently tie the score or take the lead. e. A pitcher cannot be given credit for pitching a shutout when he does not pitch the complete game except when he enters the game with no one out before the opponents have scored in the first inning and does not permit the opposition to score during the game. And thought something like that was simple.
