Haven't heard a reason yet for the no show. Kountze won their first pool game by two over Houston Christian (sorry don't have the score). They play second pool at five pm.

Houston Scarborough no showed for BH's first game this morning. Unbelievble. Next game 6:30 tonite.

Yep and a whole lot of "hair trigger" whistles. Basketball is a contact sport, every reach, touch, hand check and incidental contact etc is not a foul. It wasn't really one-sided either. WB had one of their starters foul out one minute into the 3rd and another early in the 4th. Ref's just have to let teams play and quit calling every ticky tack contact.

An ugly win, but we'll take it. BH was called for at least 30 fouls. First time to see a game at West Brook and not anxious to return soon. Had a good wrasslin' tourney going on in the other gym though, that was kinda neat to watch.

Doesn't look like they are in our bracket. The strong teams we have in ours will be Westbury Christian, Willis and another ranked team I can't remember right now. I'll try to provide updates for Kountze fans as well.

Will do...I'll be there with the trusty Blackberry and give updates on tourney. Three or four good teams there, should be BH's first test (if we get thru PNG and WB this week!)

BH 69 Pearland Dawson 24 BH is 4-0 going into busy week, hosting PNG Monday and travelling to West Brook on Tuesday. Then will be up against a strong field of teams in the Lovelady tourney Fri-Sat.

Geez ...of course not ('least not in girls BB)!...but its common sense that a 3a school is likely to have more volleyball/basketball players simply due to the enrollment. Its going to be rolling the dice to schedule a smaller school, even though they should have a great basketball team, during VB playoffs. BH is barely 4A, and was 3a since long before I attended (a long time ago). I LOVE 3A! This year we had 2 varsity players that would have missed the first couple of weeks, but we could have still fielded a competive team even if we had not gone in the second round of VB.

I bet that IS frustrating, cancelling the first two games of the season! (or playing against a severely undermanned squad). Central probably needs to schedule 5A/4A games for early next season to avoid that. Good luck to HF in BB this year, I know they have some talented young ones coming up from junior high that will help them in next few years.

BH 59 Santa Fe 36

Huffman played in the BH fall league and I was impressed by their "scrappiness". There will be no shortage of hustle from this group. Kinney is solid and the team has some good outside shooters. They should contend for a playoff spot in their district.
