  1. BH has been "out-athleted" in at least three games, but discipline, execution, defense and guts prevailed. This is going to be a tough one, that we cannot get behind in. There better be a lot of film review and prep. Against GP, we seemed to come out with the same off. plan as always. In fact, first play we ran was the hitch pass which was almost picked off for TD. Do we not think that opponents are watching our film????????? Save it for when we have their D stretched out! Regardless, its gonna be a war....can't wait!
  2. Thanks...agree to all. OF has a good program. Maybe thats why BH and OF continually have good HS programs. And you are right Bucster, I have seen some pretty horrible coaching at that level. Just getting a ball in their hands early goes a long way, but bad fundamentals can ruin a career.
  3. 82 - I was number 86, def. end. You? Good memories. Turns out our new Superintendant at BH is was the guy from Yoe that caught the halfback pass on the first play of the game. Had a great conversation with him and he seems to be a great guy...irony though, ha. ok we were are off thread!
  4. Just back too and just as wet!...what a game! GP absolutely out prepared us for this one but thank goodness we made adjustments at half. GP's QB is just about the best athlete we have seen. Eagles easily had more penalties in this game than at least all of the district schedule combined, but GP absolutely domintated in the first half plus two blown shotgun snaps hurt us terribly in the first half. I give HUGE credit to the fans as well, staying through the rain, lightning and an hour (?) delay to cheer them on to victory. Way to go Fans and way to EAGLES...
  5. We not much on dat book lernin, but we can play dat foosball... Hey, its late and the first thing to go with fatigue is grammer.
  6. I sit here today after watching my daughters 7th grade team beat Huffman's 75-4 last night (could have been 120-4). It was very hard to watch. Although we have some good athletes, I have to admit its clearly due to the youth BB program at the Hill---and lack of one in Huffman. I was just wondering who in the area has Little Dribblers, etc...and who doesn't? Does it make a difference when those same girls get to HS? Just like others thoughts.
  7. Hey 82, I graduated in '82 as well. Now THERE was a defense! Only had about 21 pts scored on us all regular season, unfortunately our state title hopes were dashed by Yoe who went on to win it all. Gotta love this year's Eagles! They play with true heart and or very well coached (even though I sometimes gripe about the play calling on here, ha). Go Eagles, beat GP!
  8. reooooww, sftht-sftht easy ladies! This is not the place, do it on the court. A little smack is ok, but remember you are representing your schools.
  9. I have to agree with BH68 completely. We made some mistakes, but it was far from sloppy. CEK was a good team, not surprising they were picked to win the district. Their offense is very good, but lacks the passing attack and frankly good play calling. King was able to sustain long drives against a GREAT defense...but as usual, the BH defense tightens up big time in on their end of the field. I was disappointed that we didn't throw the ball more down field. King had the hitch pass completely defended and we just kept going to it. We had one critical fumble on their end of the field, but hey, those will happen. It was worth the price of admission just to see Swart knock the livin' snot out of the QB and force a fumble, plus Sexton intercepting and running over people for a 45yd TD run....THAT was a beautiful thing to see.
  10. Hey at least we learned the benefit of natural grass vs. field turf. With grass you can just weed-eat out the grafitti. If it would have been field turf, we would have had to chemically remove the paint. Score one for real grass fields!
  11. Actually #3 AND #4 district titles....Team Tennis, Volleyball, BOYS X-c and GIRLS X-c...way to go EAGLES!
  12. Low humidity and high winds should help dry things out today...may not be as bad we think. North wind gusts to 30 mph along the coast this afternoon.
  13. Running in the worst conditions you could imagine (mud and two inch deep water), both teams placed first. Samantha Rhodes placed first overall for the girls and Jess Williams second overall for boys...both are Juniors. JV boys took all five of the top places as well. JV Girls were finally weathered out due to lightning. That's 4 of 4 district athletic championships if you're counting, football next!
  14. Freshman game, Beaumont Central vs. Barbers Hill White at BH has been cancelled...oh well, at least the field won't get trashed for tomorrow night's game.
  15. BHFan- thanks for the post, but its polite to credit your article source. It came from the BH Sports Report website. 146 does a great service to BH fans, just want him to get credit where its due.
  16. Hmmm...Dayton and BH districts' seem to be panning out the same way
  17. Awww, kinda hoping for a big clash of undefeated last game, but I'll take it!
  18. XC should make the state meet as well as win district. Friendswood and Nederland (boys) and Friendswood and Brazoswood (girls) should be the competion at region...stay tuned. Can you believe we will be in the top ten of the Lone Star Cup at mid-year?! Softball also returns 8 of 9 starters from last years semi-final team. Track should actually do well. District 100m champ returns, great distance runners and a killer mile relay team, among others. Yes, Go-rilla, Toon can coach so we will be competitive! Go Eagles!
  19. Boys and Girls Cross Country is a lead pipe LOCK, concludes next week. That's two more! Girls BB has a real chance at a crown...boys, not so sure, but they will be competitive.
  20. VERY good play calling tonite....turnovers were the only reason NC had more than 7. Great job EAGLES! Eagle defense is something special. They bend but don't break
