This is just my view on the Jags. Will they be able to defend a team with a real post presence? Will they be able to depend on fast breaks and jumpers all the way to state? Does Central have a inside player, who can score on offense? That is just some concerns I have.
Frat, I appreciate your concern here. But Central does not need any advice right now. Please keep your helpful thoughts to yourself. Central will win State, Freeze!!! C'mon, go along with the [s]hype[/s]...errr programming. ;D
you killin me Dove!!!!!...hahahaha
 3.
Central does have an inside presence in Wilridge who plays big at times but is definitely a talent to be recond with! He can shoot and put the ball on the floor to get better positioning. His rebounding can get a little better in my opinion because he sometimes misses a few he should get, but overall this sophmore is a special talent! Their guards are young and inexperienced but Central always seems to posses the best athletes in the area! Ozen on the other hand has good athletes with pretty good basketball IQ's which I think may give them an upper hand in the end! Should be a pretty good season for both teams though, I'm ready to watch both of them make a run for the State Title! Let's see what happens!
Wildrige is a someone to be recond with on offense, but he is a small forward at heart. he 6'7 185. He will be able to block shots but overall defending the post will be hard to do. He is long but holds no weight. In order for Central to win state they will have to be the Yates of 4a. run and press and outscore everyone. With their talent and lengthy players that would be to their advantage. They have quick guards. I love the guard play but they top 7 players are all really guards. They dont have nobody who can play back to the basket. The only concern I have

It is good he can dribble and shoot, but his team needs his help inside.
No, let him continue to dribble/ play point/
.  Because of the fear of not being able to play big man in college he has been trying to work on his dribbling skills
I agree with you 100%. But, someone needs to catch these kids before they enter high school and start this process earlier. Hard to overcome when you only have about 20 months ( if you are a junior) left in high school. As I bet you are aware, the guard position is tough, even for the ones who have been playing it since elementary. Takes more than learning to dribble, shoot &  passing to be effective at that position.
Exactly, these kids who play post all they life want to be guards when they are becoming seniors. We are starting our young players out here in middle school that are 6'3 an taller to do the same ball handling drills as the bigs.
 6.
@freeze1914.. The one time central and west brook can agree on something.....hahaha
Lol....already
 7.
>:( >:( >:(......Listen u don't have to apologize to anyone bro... We're all adults here and we all get criticized everyday....im tired of grown ppl getting mad when u tell them something they dont like..Adults catching feelings seriously  ::) :o :'(.. ..please spare me....control your emotions....that's the problem with things today everyone is so scared to say how they really really feel they can't say what's on their mind for fear of hurting the other persons ego....Now I don't agree with bashing kids and I have never known u(freeze1914)to do that...this is a message board where people of all walks of life are able to express their views right or wrong. Families should not be drawn into the convo we're having on here. It shows that persons immaturity...furthermore if u don't like what someone has to say respond in an adult like manner not by acting like a child and throwing a tantrum...unlike anyone else I will say EXACTLY how I feel about a situation and I encourage to do the same with me...
Thanks bro. The apology was for anyone who felt like I was bashing a coach, when I only gave my thoughts on what I saw.
 8. Ozen played a lot harder towards the end. WB seemed to get too comfortable with their lead.
 9. I would like to apologize to anyone that felt offended by my comments made. I'm not trying to bash anyone especially a coach on this or any other board. Now calling out government names is uncalled for and people that know me and know my background know I respect everybody and especially coaches. Again I apologize. If you want to talk to me directly feel free to message me. This is about me, not my family so you can keep them out of it. Thank you and again I apologize
 10.
Silsbees size is no where near Centrals so what Silsbee brings against HJ is very different.  I had not seen Central until last night.  But there was lots of complaining on this board about how poorly they had played in arriving at a 1-2 record.  Perhaps the coach decided that what his team needed more than anything at THIS MOMENT was a very solid and convincing win regardless of the methods used to achieve it.  If I am right, I would say mission accomplished.
If he was looking for the Moment win your right.
 11.
The "basketball market" will quickly recognize this and Central will have several opportunities to contend with a slow down type game.  Same goes for Hj in another respect.  Now the word will be out that "all you  have to do" is put someone on Johnson and thats all there is to it.  I am fairly confident that Central will make adjustments to a slower type game (by virtue of some pre district opponents trying that) just as HJ will adjust to situations where Johnson becomes closely guarded.
That was my point. I was not trying to disrespect HJ in anyway, but why not when you have a team by 20+ points, slow down the ball yourself and work on your offense for when you have to play a team that will slow you down. Instead of running up the score and taking fast break lay UPS. I doubt HJ will run into another team like Central until they see Silsbee
 12.
I see freeze's point. I had a couple of calls from some ex-Central players. Central controlled the boards thereby getting some good fast breaks in during the whole game. Their (other )OFFENSE consisted of getting  (1)offensive  rebounds and (2)getting the ball inside to their bigs. Whatcha gonna do when you meet a team who matches up with your bigs. Your "new wings" didn't score from the outside, they scored inside as usual.
Thank you Dove. You won't be able to run and gun everybody. What do you do when they slow you down
 13. I said the same thing last year when HJ did it. I'm saying you have the younger team. Why not when you get that big of a lead to slow it down and get your youngsters custom to running a offense so they can get use to it. And how could me being a Central alum have sour grapes. It's not always about just winning, but about how you win. Because it will come back to bite them. You won't beat everybody with run again. 1-2 right now. Prime example
 14.
bitter bitter bitter
Not at all. I'm a Central alum and former basketball player there. It's about down the road when the run and gun not working or you can't box and 1 somebody else. I expected to see something different after going up by 20
 15.
If I am up 20 and the team I am beating is still pressing me giving me fast break layups, you are darn right I am going to keep taking them. Its up to the losing team to chnge that strategy.
It's call respecting the sport man. Of course they go press because they trying to get back into the game. It's on the coach to say break the press and get us into our offense. So I guess its all about winning one game and not be game prepared to win another one. If you up 20 and you know you have the win, why not work on something different and to shoot a shot at the buzzer to end the game when you up 20+ is just disrespectful. It was a good showing until the 4th quarter
 16.

Honestly I wasn't impressed last night at all. I saw a good game plan to box and 1 #3 which they did last year and lost but worked this year because HJ don't have Prudhomme. How many teams will the box work on this year. Offensively they have major weapons. Still didn't see no kind of offense. It was whoever wanted to shoot could. Run and gun can't wourk on everybody
It's funny that you're the only one that wasn't impressed.  Even the H-J faithful was impressed.  What Central did was impressive and not only did it work, it appeared to be a brilliant move.  Let's not forget that not only did we bear H-J, but destroyed them.  Did you actually watch the game to make such an asinine comment?
Yes I was there. I never said it wasn't a great move. I wasn't impressed because a box and 1 works on a HJ team with 2 scorers who rely heavily on the 3 ball. Who else will they beat with that. You up 20 and you still fast breaking the ball. Can we say sportsmanship or is it because they don't have a offense to settle into. No doubt that they looked good but impressive no. When you have a team beat and you and the other team know it, shouldn't you slow the ball down and work on your offense and different techniques you need for down the road. The only thing impressed me was the fast break dunks. That's it.

 18. I will be there tomorrow to see them play HJ. So I will get my justification then.
 19. I'm not there to actually see the Jags play, but I'm hearing that they are starting 3 sophmores and 2 freshman. What happen to Garrison Mitchell and why is he coming off of the bench? I also hear they are paying more attention to they AAU coach in the bleachers more than they listen to Coach Lee. Someone please fill me in on what's going  in.
 20. Bosha and Johnson will lead HJ this year. Johnson is just a natural shooter. His cousin is former Central player Ed Garriet so you can see why shooting the ball comes natural. Expect big things from them 2 this year. They have a lot to prove.

Hj has one great player and 2 good players... Didn't impress me at all. Sorry. Kountze, y'all gotta play better. That was not how y'all play
Brady why you always hating on HJ.  Everyone knows you went to Silsbee.  I know that you have ties to Kountze, but come one man.  HJ is by far better than Kountze this year, and you know it.  I knew that Bosha and Johnson would do their thing tonight, but was most impressed with the sophomore Mayes (#22).  Kountze will be fine this year.  They are quick and athletic, and have a great coach!!!
I'm really not trying to hate.. Hj is not bad! I was impressed with 22 also! I knew Johnson would do good. I still believe Kountze is the better team. I will say this, hj is better then I thought, BUT if you stop Johnson, I think it will be over.
How many did Johnson finish with

I don't believe Devonte played this summer, did he?
Yes!
yes he played with the Texas Ballhawks 16 and under. he suppose to be in the 11th grade but was skipped up in the 3rd grade because he was ahead of everybody classwork wise.
 23.
O.P. Walker, I wonder if their players from last year graduated. They were good.
yea 8 out of there 12 graduated but they will be loaded again
 24.
I say either Kountze or Silsbee will lead the area in team scoring points per game. I was told that Silsbee will be even more up tempo than they have been the last couple of years. That is scary. As for individual scoring, I am betting it comes from a player at a 2A school or smaller but the points per game will not exceed 30 per game. Maybe the 7 footer at Colmesneil. ;)
didnt know they had a 7 footer.. how good is he?
