I know he was not the bright spot in tiger history, but wasnt he the leading rusher in 4A (state) as a junior and won 3 power lifting state championships before getting removed from the team his senior year. have you seen Ponder Class 2A back to back state champs. Talk about by the book. It is really nice to see kids play with that kind of mind set. When they run their offense they hardly ever force a shot, they just set back up and re run it till something comes open. I know they are only 2A, but if our area teams had that kind of discipline we would have more state champs here in the golden triangle.

They might have better raw basketball, but fundamentally better than HJ. Have you watched both play. HJ's press is crazy. In your face the whole game. Their defense is a lot of their offense. The reason is discipline. Athletes only make the game exciting, basketball players is what makes the game.

Hey DV is it the street ball that Ozen plays appealing to you or does the fundamental skills taught by HJ you dont understand. It is now starting to clear up. You go to the movie store and rent Hoosiers, then maybe you will come to like HJ.

Ozen wins one title in the last ten years and DV thinks thats where basketball was invented.

besides yates anyother teams possibly looking for repeat. Ponder won back to back in 2A. What does New Waverly have coming back. I know in 5A its hard to repeat anything on Desoto and their returning players.

also when you are less talented or you limit the number of scoring oppurtunities by the opposing team. Late in the game I can see holding the ball at half court. Not with 3 plus minutes in the first half, and you are considered an elite team. I have never seen the better of two teams stall in this situation. Thats where this post came from. Weaker teams use this to slow the game down.

I must explain, I do not live in HJ country I live in the 4A district and follow this. Stall by my definition is with more than 3 minutes left in the first half holding the ball at half court is a stall. And yes I am talking about the YMBL Championship. Admit it they looked over matched.

Strake didnt look that great but they played a tough Desoto team. It was a fun game to watch.

wow another BISD fan and difference of facts. Well I guess someone doesn't understand the way it was all set up for BISD. I think Boutte has a great record and is well respected in the basketball community. One thing I have noticed is how his game plans changed over the years. 01 team would take it too you beat you like a dog and this year slow and stall makes for a boring game. Maybe it is just me but the reason you stall is because you cant run. Please explain Master Vitale.

atleast some one will agree it is a magnet school. The only difference in ozen and most others is ozen doesnt declare a sports magnet, and they get to stay in 4a rather than move up to 5a. DV imagine wb and central combining back when sneed played for wb and drop them down a division. From what you say the lower you drop in divisions the easier to win it all. So basically Ozen can legally have students from wb and central.

what about 23 that kid could fly. That 4a title game was much better than 08 SOC game. Yates lived up to the hype. I would go with yates too.

lets see hasnt an ozen player and central player brothers. If you cant read let me spell it out to you 1 5a WB and 1 5a Central to a 4a. Yes they did get to choose which school, it just voids some of greatness admit it.

If you want my opinion and you probably dont Perkins wasnt ozens best player, Young to me was their best player. I can say that perkins did shoot FT good for a big man.

HJ has many pros just not in Basketball. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
