  1. # 7 is doing everything the coach's ask of him. He is throwing for a 50% completion ratio and a 2/1 TD/int ratio. He has made big plays in each game and has been a good leader on the field. AND most importantly he has led us to a 6-0 start. That's the only stat that matters this year. Cody and Bryce are every bit as good as predicted! These are two humble young men that know that football is about "we" not "me". "ALL ABOARD" the L-train rolls on.........
  2. WHO CARES? REALLY! Can't you find something better to discuss. Both are 2-0 in district and each have 5 games remaining. That's all that matters.
  3. hey shorttexas1 and bmtsoulja1! I said I intentionally didn't say THE BEST because i didn't want all the anti-raider losers to get thier panties in a knot, as you did. WB's defense was good enough to win. Our's will be too.... that's all that matters.
  4. I guess it depends on your perspective. I EXPECT the raiders to win this game. If they win it will not be an upset in my eyes. I think the Raiders D is one of the best that Central has faced and i think Central will make more mistakes than Lumberton giving us a short field. However, I will be UPSET if the Raiders lose!! Should be a great game! Go Raiders!
  5. I posted this on the other thread but it is more appropriate here. Going into the game Friday night against the Pirates the Raiders have given up the fewest points (20) among ALL 228 4A schools in the state of texas. Seven of those were given up by the offense. Regardless of the schedule that is impressive! Source: texasfootball.com - high school - statewide standings - 4A - sort on Pts against

  7. Hey Bullet! It was Dayton's defense that gave up 3 4th quarter leads this year, not the offense. Certainly, Daytons offense was better with Michael D at Running back, AJ at Receiver and Cody at QB. But that was last year. This is a new year partner! : And yes, I (not everybody in lumberton, the team, the coaches, etc... ME) expect our defense to hold EVERY team that we play to 10 points or less. Now that may not happen but I think they are that good. Personally, i don't care if we win 49-48 as long as we win. And yes, that was the bigest win of this programs history but not the last big win of the year. Stay tuned!!!
  8. I figured you were one of those outsiders taking shots at the Raiders. You have the right to your opinion but unless you have seen them and Dayton then you are making uninformed comments. Both these teams can play some ball. AND yes, our defense has improved that much.
  9. OK! This will be my last post on this topic. I didn't challenge anybody to a fight. Bobcat55 singled me out so i was returning the favor... Not a big deal! As a Raider fan we have experienced our share of lopsided scores over the years. Some of those are the result of Coach's taking advantage of a weak team and trying to humiliate the opposing team including players, coachs, town, fans, etc... How many points scored has nothing to do with an act being considered "classless". It's all about intent. I agree! Kids have to learn from wins and losses. And what did the Buna kids learn from scoring that one additional touchdown? How to kick dirt in the opponents face when they are laying on the ground beat like a step child? Now that's is a good lesson for them to learn as they mature. Just because both our teams have had the scores run up on us doesn't mean we should do the same to other teams. Thanks for the congrats and good luck to Buna the rest of the season. That is not an easy district with EC, deweyville, and Hardin.
  10. That was an interesting show. They did a great job. The Asian theme was different and the band was very good.
  11. I heard a caller on 560am discussing the classless behavior of your coaches. If it wasn't an onside kick then why try to score? You ever heard of kneeling the ball? As for staying out of the conversation, the question was asked so i gave my opinion. That's what this forum is for!! Do you think i like the things being said about the Raiders and my son who is one of the skilled players for Lumberton. Absolutely NOT!!! But this is a open forum and we are all free to voice our opinion. If you have a problem with it talk to your coach. He is the one running up the score, not me. If you don't like it you can find me at every Raider game to say something about it. I am the balding fat guy that likes to support my Raiders. We have been up 28-0, 35-0, and 41-0 at half of each of our first three games. We called the dogs off and played 2nd, 3rd and even 4th string players the rest of the game. We could have scored 70-80 points in each of those games but that's not good to have the opposing kids HUMULIATED like that. If Buna makes the playoffs i hope they face Newton. Coach B will get a little redemption for his son....
  12. He is good but had a rough night. He had an off night and we had several dropped balls but i give Daytons D credit. We had 2 or 3 sure TD's that we missed because of either dropped passes or missing the reciever and Dayton missed one sure TD on a dropped ball. Stats don't always tell the story. He was HUGE on that last drive. His stats will improve as we progress through district. The only stat that matters to us is the "W". We have no "superstars" on our team but we have a bunch of very good hard working kids. Credeurs philosophy is "it's not about me; it's about we!"
  13. There are no excuses for this classless behavior. Up by 40 late in the 4th and trying an onside kick for practice is one thing. Scoring on that drive is "CLASSLESS".
  14. You would be the first person saying that it must be a down year for the district. Pessimist like you will always gripe about something.
  15. bullets13 - you make it sound like Dayton will be the whipping boys of the district because they lost to Lumberton... Which team do you support in 22-4a? I want to be sure I re-visit your quote after your team plays Dayton. We'll just see how good that Dayton team is? Don't sell the Broncos short, or the Raiders for that matter! I see the Broncos going 6-1 or 5-2.
  16. Hey TravelingBandsman! I saw the flag dudes over there and thought it rather unsportsman like as well. We have more class than that. My guess is that was a result of the 55-7 drumming you gave us last year. I think that was two outstanding defenses that kept two good offenses out of the endzone for most of the game. I think that will be a minor bump on the way to the playoffs for the Broncos. Both teams just need to take care of business each week. Good luck!
  17. I'll take the Raiders 31-7 but won't be surprised if the Pirates are held scoreless.
  18. I can't believe that many people (42%) picked the Raiders over Dayton . Those guys and gals must be closet fans and rarely show there support for the Raiders on the board for sake of getting bashed. We Raider faithful appreciate your support.
  19. You have to keep in mind that the Broncos have one of the best defenses around. I think they will be the toughest we will face in district. We do need to improve on our passing game but give them credit for slowing down our offense. When it REALLY mattered we made the plays.
  20. WHAT A GAME!!!! Great game Broncos fans. What a battle between two talented and well coached teams. Good luck the rest of the way. Coach C made some incredible calls during the game and the boys mad plays when they had to. I thought we had to play a perfect game to win that one but it turns out we didn't have to. The defense and special teams deserve the credit for keeping it close. Hanna had a couple of punts that were HUGE in changing field position. Defense would bend on a few drives but would step it up on our end of the field. To hold the Broncos to 7 points and force them to punt the ball 7 times was quite impressive. We had numerous mistakes on offense including 11 penalties, 4-5 turnovers, missed passes and poorly thrown balls........ AND WE STILL WON. Lets EXECUTE better next week. GREAT WIN RAIDERS!! Now it's time to prepare for Vidor.
  21. LOL! We have certainly faced different caliber opponents. Bottom line is we are much better on D than last year and better on offense and hope to stay in the game, unlike last year. We also have to protect the ball on offense and play special teams. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME!
  22. I don't know about "HURT" dayton but i think we will contain them more than they anticpate. In three games lumberton D has given up a total of 6 points and 310 yards. Rush Pass Total NC 36 35 71 BC 52 90 142 Cle 79 18 97
